I have definitely noticed a pattern of nosiness among leo influenced people in my life. And it intrigues me because none of the astro interpretations I have seen attribute nosiness to this sign. The best example is my brother who has sun, moon, ascendant, mercury, venus, and mars in leo.. You cant keep anything from this guy! He wants to know everything and if you wont tell him he will find out what he wants to know from another source, to say he is relentless is putting it mildly.. I have noticed similar things from alot of people with leo placements.. Including several of my other family members. I think it could definitely be the darker side of leo manifesting itself. Leos have a reputation for being dogmatic and bossy and maybe nosiness goes hand in hand with that. Kind of like the control freak parents who are always probing their kids and micromanaging their lives. I also find it interesting that aquas, myself included, seem to resent this sort of thing and enjoy our privacy. To me that seems like the opposite natures of leo and aqua playing out. I will admit that aquas are curious about people too but we will respect peoples wishes most of the time if they "dont want to talk about it" but a lot of leos seem to feel entitled to knowing all the details? Thoughts?

My friend is aqua sun, I am leo moon, planets are directly opposite.

I can tell you these polar oppositions are definitely true

So you would describe yourself as nosey at times? Interesting. What do you think motivates this behavior?

I think probably yes.

My father was a Leo and he often wanted to know your business. He kept tabs on my mother when they were courting for example, would suddenly resurface in her life once he heard she was seeing someone else. lol. He really liked to be in control of situations, financial and otherwise.

My sister is Aquarius and displays the same characteristics.

I have Leo in Mars, Venus and MC and I like to be in control in certain areas of my life, ie love, creativity and public performance. Guess that's nothing to do with nosiness though. lol Although I have to say I do like to check out potential "mates", so much so I could probably be a private detective!

Nosiness isn't necessarily a negative thing, it shows they do fundamentally care for you, but it just comes across as controlling to some people.

This sounds like Gemini a bit and also Pluto, with the needing to know everyone's basic details and digging for answers.

I am really nosy and I have Venus in the 3rd ruling my 7th House with Pluto sitting there, it brings Pluto to the 3rd so I dig at others through communication.

Not sure about Leos being nosy since I have never been close to one, but I noticed that nosiness in Scorpio sun and ascendant people. My family members have that and they like to read your messages, letters, and meet the person that's in your circle that they have just read about. It's annoying! They even go through your stuff when you're not around!

It's hard to say:

Mum - Leo Moon conjunct Pluto, Sco sun square - obsessively nosy
One friend - Leo Moon - no
Friend - Leo Moon, Venus, Mercury, Saturn and Sco rising - very but has calmed down over time
Dad - Leo Sun, Mars - no
Idiot who tried to do "coffee" with me - Leo Sun, Mercury and Sco rising - very

I would say if they are nosy, it's because they have a sense of entitlement to know, entitlement being a trait to a poor quality Leo individual.

Not really...

I've noticed it more with Cancer and Virgo placements, maybe Scorpio as well.

Hmm.. I would have agreed with you if I didnt know my brother who is leo everything. I have also noticed it in quiet a few other people with leo placements too. Which leads me believe that nosiness can be connected to leo placements.

Are there any aspects from any of those rulers Odette suggested then? It's not just placement, it's also aspects, including declinations.

I get that and I agree with you but my question is related to leo placements because I have definitely seen a pattern of people with prominent leo placements being nosey. Its true that you have to take everything into consideration but you also have to look at whats staring you right in the face and the common denominator I am seeing is leo placements, particularly the sun.

A firm NO to the OP's question.

I don't care about people's problems or their personal life. And nosy people ticks me off big time.

I have always had a problem with being very nosy and I have my chart ruler in Leo. When I was young I would go to my relatives's houses and look through all their things. It thrilled me to no end to do that but it irritated the crap out of them and they would get angry at me and tell me to stay out of their stuff.
I also used to try to go through my mom's stuff and she would get upset with me, too. I just liked discovering new things.
Astrologically, I thought it was 3rd house Mars in Sagittarius which is an explorer placement.

If I know you know something and don't wanna tell me that definitely bothers me, but only if I know it has to do with me. If not, don't care...

All I have is Leo Asc, and I'm super nosy about odd things like what the neighbors are doing (it's usually more of a curiosity, but also wanting to know what's going on around me). But I also have Pluto in 3rd.

My Leo relatives (of which I have many) do tend to be super nosy about personal stuff, and they'll dig a lot. It can be obnoxious.

Mostly, I don't care too much unless it has to do with my husband or my son, and I never do anything but press. I don't ask other people too much, like trying to find things out about someone through someone else. I don't like that type of thing.

But my husband, who has Leo Sun, Venus, and Vertex, is not nosy at all. But then he has Sag Asc and Aqua Mars, so he's just into his own thing.

Personally, I think that whatever nosiness I possess is more a result of my Pluto placement and aspects. I don't really want to know about other people's private lives. I just want to know what they're all about. The details don't concern me so much, except that I like to analyze people.

But yeah, my Leo relatives... Obnoxiously nosy.

My best friend is a Libra with Leo Moon, and she can be pretty gossipy and somewhat nosy, in a kind of sly way. She isn't that way with me so much, because I'm basically an open book with her. But I've seen her do it with other people.

I will research a person I'm investing in. I'm not nosy. I don't go in people's belongings. I don't follow them. I don't ask other people about them. If I'm dating you, please believe in the very beginning, I looked to see if you had a criminal history, if you told me your criminal history if what you said was all of it, who your friends are, where you're from, if you've been in the news... Are you who you say you are?

I was seeing this guy and I knew he had a criminal history. We've known each other since childhood. He told the truth 98% of the time. That other 2% was extraordinarily significant to whether we would even be able to have a relationship. HE came to ME for a relationship, by the way. I knew all along why he was being evasive and acting different. Told me he was coming back to the state and we would do all these great things. Well... With some Leo digging, I found that he applied to be transferred to the state years ago and either he was denied ( co-defendant was approved. Probably wanted to keep them separate ) or he declined. He was probably denied. From an unsolicited mutual friend, he wasn't supposed to be in the state when we got together in the first place and he got caught! I also found that he had another 13 years probation. No way in the world we were gonna do any if the things he said. BUT I kept mentioning things I was going to make arrangements for him to do to see if he would come clean. He didn't. He just stopped talking to me and went on an ego rant about women on Facebook He has everybody thinking that he comes up here to handle business. No. He's here breaking the law. He's also where he is breaking the law. ( actually confronted him about that one) I hope he has a lot of Leo placements so he can see that I was no fool.
Past criminal history is one thing. Current criminal? PASS

Friends have come to me when the met a guy and I've found second facebook pages, all sorts of things.

^ Well yeah. I mean, I want to know if someone is doing something sketchy, but I can usually tell by their behavior or just my Pluto Spidey Senses.

I go with instinct and experience on that type of thing, or I might listen keenly when other people talk about the person.

Other people didn't know. I can tell by what they told me they were missing that piece, too. I could've ordered the whole docket, but I had what I needed. I'm not talking about sketchy. I'm talking federal conviction.

Yikes. Well, that too. I can tell when people are hiding something, and I can tell when they're on hard drugs or have some sort of major mental health issue. That's what I steer clear of. ESPECIALLY if I think they're lying, but in general, those are pretty steadfast rules for me, personally.

Sorry you had to go through all that, anyway. Good for you for doing your research!

I think this could be a good observation, Leo's like to compare themselves to others, to see who is better, and knowing people's business would facilitate this.

I'm Leo Asc and Leo Venus, I have to say no, I care less about what people are doing etc. I also don't watch reality shows, read about celebs, read bibliographies unless it's Albert Einstein, Charles Darwin and a few others, otherwise its just not an interest of mine to be in people's business. I guess 12th house can trump all placements. I wonder if Uranus in aspect to personal planets have something to do with people against nosiness?

Personally, I hate nosiness, this is one of my top pet peeves, I hate people asking about my personal business etc. This can be a real problem for quiet people, because everyone thinks your hiding stuff or some enigma. I try to stay clear of anyone remotely like this, most nosiness also comes with gossip and passing rumors and judgement.

ahHA! Here's some more proof that a house ruler will take the planets in it's house to whatever house it sits! Hooray!

My Venus is in the 3rd with Pluto sitting in the 7th.

My neighbors have had heaps of cops coming to their house and the neighbors next to them have had drug raids recently. I'm just short a popcorn bucket while I'm standing at my window peaking through the blinds!

^ Hahaha.
My mom is visiting (talk about nosy...Cancer Sun and Scorpio Asc, yeesh), and she said "that guy next door has been moving all of his stuff out of the garage and doing something with it." And I was like "Oh, REALLY? What was he doing with it?" And then I proceeded to speculate (with the hope that they might be selling their house because they're obnoxious).

Also, she went to the store earlier while I was out in the yard with my son, and after a while I called her and half-jokingly said "Where the hell are you?!"

I only do that with people I'm close to, but again I suspect Pluto.

However, my aunt has a Leo daughter and husband, and I have never witnessed one person be more controlled and fought over by two loved ones in my life.

So maybe it's Leo, maybe it's Pluto. Hard to say.

Hahaha

I kept hoping that the drug raid house would move out too, because the neighbor that lives there is very rude. He was even yelling at the police officers and kicking his stuff around like a child. Talk about obnoxious (meanwhile I'm childishly enjoying the spectacle!)

I like when people wonder where I am but I've never had someone do it excessively at all. It peevs me to expect someone home and then not have any message that they're running late. I immediately start imagining a car crash and everything else under the Sun. So yeah, I'm just a little morbid!

Seems like we need to get together for some neighborhood watch groups! Hahaha
