I heard it explained to me that the planets grow weaker the higher the degree.

Ie
Each house has 30 degrees
The earlier the degree, the more active the planet and the higher the degree the planet "sleeps more"

Can y'all explain this?

Hmmm my most powerful planets, the ones I actually feel, all sit on angles, except Pluto which is a Singleton at 9 degrees. The others are Jupiter 29 on MC, (he makes me overcome everything and I truly see no problem too big!) Mars 2 on ASC (keeps me physically apt) and Uranus 29 on IC (sigh.....Uranus....what can I say??...lol )

I actully feel as if Pluto and Uranus have dinners behind my back! Plotting and scheming how to best keep me alert and scared to death...but I am on to them! Oh yeah, mark my words!

My most powerful planets are also the ones that sit on angles. Personally I've never found planets that are late in signs to be weaker. YMMV though.

Because the later the degree of the planet, the more mature the planet has become because it has been through the sign longer, and so it becomes wiser - thus, it becomes less enthusiastic than a child or youngster (early degree) would be about reaching it's goal (whatever the planet represents). It's "asleep" because it's kind of like how an old man would be. They know a lot, and so, things are just not as interesting to them as when they were young.
This also correlates with the earlier degree the planet is to it's sign's own decan (0 - 10), and the closer it is to it's own duad as well (earliest degree, 0 - 2.5), so it the most energized.

Though, as later degree planets may not be as strong and energized as early degree planets, they know more than the early degree planets about how to go about doing something (whatever that certain planet represents).
