I read yesterday that a person's moon indicates the characteristics of his/her children. This is more applicable to women.So for example, my mom has cap moon and both my sister and I are Cappy and have emphasized 10th house. My friend who has virgo moon says she would love to out her children to work .., Does any of this apply to you? IP: Logged |

My mom is an Aries moon and she has Moon in 5th. I have a Leo Moon in 1st, Moon square Mars plus Mars/Pluto/Jupiter in 5th. Idk my sisters TOB but she has a Virgo Moon her Mars aspects nearly all of her planets except Jupiter. IP: Logged |

My mom is a gemini with a virgo moon, and virgo asc.My sister is a capricorn with taurus asc, gemini moon
I am a gemini sun, taurus moon, cancer Asc.

I have aries moon 8th.
Nothing really stands out in my either of my sons charts besides my oldest having mars in aries in 11th.
BUT!
Looking at their individual charts I think their moon (moon = mother) describes the rolls I play in their lives very well
Same goes for the roll my mother played in my life

I think y'all are misunderstanding my thread.
My mom has cap moon. I have aries moon and my sister has aqua moon. The point isn't moon placement of the children but do they come off as some one with characteristics if the mother's moon?Ie. my mom's moon is cap, and my sister and I both come off as very Cappy - reserved, disciplined, etc IP: Logged |

Oh so you mean are we similar to our mother emotionally?My mom is a scorpio moon. Uhm hard to say but yeah I think my mother raised me to be very controlled and secretive. My grandmother was a Libra had a lot of issues with her in laws and was very emotional and upset person so this was the result of her scorpio moon I guess which caused her to have intense and secretive nature due to the environment she was raised in. Like we kept distance from extended family because she did not trust them.
I don't know much about my mother, I think she keeps a lot of her feelings closed off from me because they are very overwhelming but I do get glimpses of them and they can be pretty dark. IP: Logged |

My mom is a Gemini with Scorpio Moon at 28 deg. My sister has Scorpio rising and my brother has Scorpio moon.I for one don't want my kids to be Cancer-like. I have Cancer moon and I don't think I'd want that. ------------------

My Mum is Leo with a Sag moon, I have Pisces rising and a Leo moon and 2 of my girls have Pisces sun with heavy Aries in the charts, my 3rd girl also has Pisces rising.IP: Logged |

I think the Moon position has more to do with how a person expresses their "mothering instincts" to the children they have.And not necessarily their children's personalities. For instance, a mother with the Moon in Gemini may nurture her children by establishing an open relationship with them. They may encourage their children to express themselves intellectually. My Mom has Taurus Moon and she has always encouraged us to be careful, deliberate and conservative in our approach.She has also encouraged good manners, and a calm attitude towards people. When it comes to the nature of children, however, I think I would look at the 5th house cusp-as that is where one may get insight into issues of creativity/ children and recreation. The 5th house may explain the nature of ones children AND may show insight as to how one relates to them. For example, a 5th house cusp of Aries with Mars there may indicate that the person concerned may have a very tumultuous relationship with their child. Whatever the outcome, Mars energy is suggested therein; either in relationship with the child or within the child sex/personality. If the 5th house cusp is Cancer and Saturn there, the child/children may feel very responsible for each other. Or the mother stresses a lot about her kids; Has she done enough? Does she need to do more? What else has she left out? etc Saturn in Cancer emphasizes fears of not having a bond that is emotionally close whereas,in this case,it may surface inner fears of being an incompetent parent. I have 5th house cusp on Virgo and this usually suggests that the person may not have many kids/ the kids one has are of a "surrogate"/foster nature- as Virgo is "facilitator" energy that maintains emotional detachment in the interest of preserving oneself and the other. So, I don't expect a weepy relationship with whatever children I have. Nor one that is very distant either. Even if Mars is transiting, the effect will be of a child whom may be mentally bright but very self-critical, nervous or a perfectionist. My relationship with the child may be one where we argue a lot(Mars), but it will only be because the child is bright and they want me to reason with them (Virgo)etc.

The moon has always represented one's mother in the natal, not one's children. So someone with the moon in leo, conjunct mars, could be said to have a very fiery and hot-tempered, passionate mother. I find this tends to apply, but I've never come across the idea that the moon in someone's chart reveals something about that person's children, at least not in established astrological wisdom  ------------------

My mother:
Taurus Moon trine Capricorn VenusSign wise, I've nothing in Taurus except for my IC. Aspect wise, I've Venus conjunct Sun/Mercury/Nnode and sextile Ascendant. I also have 3 planets in the 10th and Saturn in the first. IP: Logged |

I agree with AscTaurus. The moon represents, among other things, how you nurture and receive nurturing. My mother has a Scorpio moon and I have a Taurus moon. My sister, I think, is a Cancer moon.
I don't see my mum as being a Taurean person. Earthy (she's Virgo ASC), but she's not calm and placid like a Taurus. Children would be represented by the 5th house I think. I actually have Scorpio intercepted there, and it starts at Libra (my mum's Sun sign). IP: Logged |
