I never really considered myself any kind of "old soul" or "wise one." I was first introduced to the term by a flaky new ager who first said I was an "indigo" who questioned authority, but the moment I questioned her authority (simply challenging her reasoning) I was instantly demoted to "young soul." I've been cynical about terms like that ever since.

Teaching yes - very serious and sober, not sure about that. Maybe when they're not around people that understand them but I'm sure many wise ones also understand the whole play of creation and have also learned not to take it seriously.

I really connect with this. I know I am an old soul, I feel connected to the past in a way that very few of the people around me are. I've always been somewhat serious and always found myself connecting well with adults - even as a child. I was always the peacemaker within every group of friends, relatives, etc. and people have always looked to me as a leader in some ways - but not an authoritarian.

I have often played counselor for adults double my age, and I have people have told me that I am an old soul my entire life. I have always been drawn towards healing and am an empath - emotional and psychic. I don't need to think about whether or not I'm an old soul - I think if you are one, then you just know.

Its not if you consider yourself wise, though you very well could be. Its if the characteristics of wise ones matches your own and you feel drawn or connected to that energy. Though idiots is such a negative term. Simply ignorant or un-awake would suffice.

Being comfortable with the darker side of life 3.) having numerous psychic, paranormal, or spiritual experiences 4.) in past lives was a sorcer/ess, high priest/ess, shaman, any spiritual leader or occult practitioner 5.) What they would call an old soul, who has been around the block many times. 6.) tends to be more serious, though they oscilate between seriousness and playfulness due to many experiences with those of the elemental realm. 7.) Have deep past life distrust towards the church and major religions due to persecution (witch trials, etc.)

I was a shaman in my past life. At least, the most recent one I have been able to remember. I don't believe this has been a recurring theme though. My lives before that were quite ordinary. Well, as ordinary as any person with a soul like mine can be. I'm a true aquarius. Recently however (as in, in recent lives) I am beginning to experience mySelf as teacher, to see if this is what I wish to dedicate mySelf to. I am also contemplating exploring.

And even before my current obsession with Astrology I knew my signs from very early on. In fact, I remember telling all my friends in primary school and asking them to find out what their signs were.

I agree with most of this except the heavy energy....truly wise ppl know there is not a single thing served by being somber or heavy....did you know in some hospitals they are using a laughing therapy as part of a cure for cancer? It actually works!
