...where your mind works best, and where it struggles?

Like, my thinking is sharp and clear when I am arguing, and I have Mercury trine Pluto.

I find it easy to express affection; I have Mercury sextile Venus.

Putting across some of my nutty Aquarius Mercury ideas can be really difficult though. I get tongue-tied, feel insecure, wonder if I'm sounding crazy...so I spend a lot of time working out all the kinks in any serious writing I do.

^ Mercury square Uranus, opposing Saturn.

Anyone else see their Mercury aspects functioning like that?

Mercury square Neptune and Uranus trine Venus square ascendant trine MC

I'd describe my speech style as creative, unique, but sometimes I get anxious of what I say will sound weird or taken the wrong way, ah well it's better than being dull, right?

Well I think so,

I have Mercury trine Uranus, Uranus deals with anything out-of-the norm. I must say that I don't ever have a hard time learning or comprehending subjects that aren't of the norm. (astrology). Uranus also deals with computers and electronics, I must say that I'm very skilled in information technology and I have a strong background.

Mercury in Virgo - I am very analytical, etc. Observant.

Mercury conjunct Mars - My words can be very direct and come across as harsh. Sometimes I say things or share a thought and the response that I get is, "Damn man. That's harsh"
Plus, my mind NEVER EVER shuts off. It's crazy active. Since it's in the 12th though, I keep a lot to myself.

Square Gemini moon - sharing my feelings is very tough sometimes. At least in a way that makes them easy to understand.

Jupiter trine - I don't know if this applies to this aspect but I often think outside the box. Especially at work. "What if we do this?"

I may not have that exactly right

Thanks for the replies

@NeptunianSag ~ Yep, better than being boring! I love what other people with Mercury square Uranus have to say. It's just my own stuff that might be toooo crazy.

@Libracorn ~ Lucky you. Wish I had a knack for computers. I sorta hate them...

@DF ~ That all makes sense. Have you tried meditation to calm your mind?

Jupiter-Mercury is great, in my experience, even people with the negative aspects come up with innovative/extraordinary ideas.

@VDS ~ Don't Plutonians argue? What's the Scorpio stinger for...bravado?

My Mercury is trine Mars by sign. And:

Aqua Mercury
11H Gem Mars

^ Cooperation.

But I don't want to argue anything unless I feel like I have done my research or have really strong feelings about something. My whole chart, with all its air and fire, is kinda snobby that way, it doesn't like petty arguments, just titanic arguments. LOL

i really like my mercury. untypical of many geminis i actually think before i speak. i select my words carefully and can keep secrets easily. i prefer to write about emotions instead of verbalize them. i have been told i am gifted when it comes to creative writing. my university english prof tried hard to get me to change my major. alas, i haven't had the time to write up something magical in a long time.

I have one major aspect, Mercury sextile Moon. It seems to me that my willingness to communicate is strongly tied to my mood and/or how I feel about the person. But my Merc is also in the 4th house so...

@DF

Like the song Drift Away: Gimme the beat boys and free my soul, I wanna get lost in the rock n' roll and drift away...

@mareaire

Lovely aspects! I'm remembering the picture you posted of yourself...can see the "magical" orientation of your mind, just thinking of your style and facial expression.

@I'm so cappy

That's cool, though!

My Mercury is awkwardly almost semi-square my moon...like trying desperately to make contact, any contact, and failing.

But whatever, I guess my 8H moon didn't want to say much anyway.

Mercury in Scorpio trine Pisces Moon, Cancer Saturn, opposite Taurus Mars. I do very well to watch what comes out of my mouth. I am very instinctive & intuitive. If my spidey sense tells me I am being decieved, I will relentlessly dig for the truth.

Yes definitely. My third house Mars is very interested in verbal conflicts and debates.

I have Mercury in Libra my favorite thing to do when Mars is resting is space out and chill. Very laid back Libra chilling is my thing and just blank out like the Buddha, for better or worse. Mercury conjunct Jupiter. I like that peaceful zen state. Mercury sextile Venus.

I have a strong aversion to fascism and fanaticism. Mars square Pluto. Mercury conjunct Uranus sextile Venus.

I am also said to be very stubborn.

Mind control is something I absolutely despise.

I like to study. A lot. Right now I am researching and studying cults and programming. I am very fascinated by this subject. I have a progressed 11th house stellium and Mercury is in it.

I adore Uranian people (Sun-Uranus conjunction natally). Saturn can bring you mental discipline, but can make you doubt your own brilliance. A Plutonian Mercury is a gift; you have a heavy duty built in b.s. detector.

I notice my sign more then the aspects. I have Capricorn Mercury and I communicate best when there is a specific purpose for communicating with a person. I excel in job interviews or anything related to jobs/business. I also do really well when it comes to dealing with authority figures. On the flip side I really struggle with spontaneous communication and small talk. For example I was in a bookstore just yesterday and got the feeling that a girl wanted me to talk to her because she kept lingering near me every aisle I went to. Maybe it was just a really big coincidence that she managed to always be right beside of me in this huge store but I definitely got the impression it was a pre-meditated thing on her part, basically it was her way of saying "talk to me stupid!"; and truth be told I thought she was cute I wanted to talk to her but I couldn't think of anything to say because the whole thing was just so random.

I have Mercury conj Sun, Trine Uranus, Square Pluto.

I like to research everything down to the smallest molecule. I also can choose not to speak at all OR I will ramble on non stop and will jump from topic to topic with ease. Can go from talking about what to have for dinner to what Obama said 2 hours ago while in Oklahoma and back to "maybe we should get cucumber instead of tomatoes??". People HATE this about me.

I can "direct" conversations to exactly where I want them to be but try not to do this..

I'm best at talking about how I feel. Especially when it's for my benefits. Sometimes I can describe how other people feel, but only if I "get" them. I keep secrets well (12th house merc). See people's layers quite clearly and find them fascinating. People are like kaleidoscopes.

I struggle with keeping focus. Merc-uranus aspect.

Mercury trine Pluto, sextile Uranus, sextile MC.

I don't really do well in arguements or in emotional situations, but I know how to make people move forward in hopeless situations.

They do, didn't mean to say they don't participate in argumentation, but it's not their home arena, so to speak.

Concise, piercing, but also self contained (and content) - they thrive on research, finding out stuff, connecting the dots, figuring it all out in just one look...
They don't verbally spar, at first. When confronted, can be sharp.

"Spidey sense."

I also have a Pisces moon. Sometimes I am okay with being deceived, I just let it slide, it kinda depends on the person and situation. But it I feel it's negatively affecting other people, I'll do the research or analyze a story in-depth, looking for parts that don't match up.

@SSS ~ You are so interesting. To me, you always have an air of mystery about you, so it's nice to read more about how your mind works. Mine works a bit similarly, like I mentioned L Ron Hubbard to you before, because I've researched Scientology.

@charlie ~ Your description fits with your posting style at LL. I guess sun-Mercury gives you added self-awareness? And about directing the conversation...I've noticed a lot of Cancer suns have that power. Not all. But it's good that you use it intentionally and not all the time.

@aquaguy ~ Thanks for the inside view of how my sun's placement converts over to Mercury. Sounds like pointless gibberish isn't really your thing. That's a pity, it comes in super handy sometimes.

Bookstores are easy to strike up conversations in, btw. If you're in the same aisle as someone, assume they like the same topic and ask a question related to that topic. In your case it'd be something like, "I'm looking for the latest catalogue giving the value of collectible teddy bears, I wanna see how much my bears are going for. Have you seen that?" And she'd say something like, "Oooooo I've got a few Steiffs at home myself." And you'd say, "Mohair? Growlers? What?" while lifting your eyebrows and gazing romantically into her eyes.

j/k

Don't you wish you had an Aqua Mercury sometimes, it's fun being all-out weirdo.

@muddy ~ I see that about you..."seeing all the layers." I love your attention to detail, how you apply it to physical things and also psychological things.

@changeomomentum ~ The 8H seems so privacy-oriented, maybe communication gets muffled with Mercury there (?)

What is my Capricorn sun good for, except acting like it totally doesn't matter when anyone shuts me off??

But seriously we don't have to be mere *friends* when we have a sun conjunction. We're solar twins. --->

Got it. Thanks for explaining. I don't differentiate as well as you do, I haven't been into real astrology as long.
