I have Virgo Moon and Venus, and I just can't help being critical of people. Little things that people do really just annoy the hell out of me. I will literally watch someone for five minutes and nitpick the heck out of them. Do any other virgos out the there understand my struggle? I really do try hard to be accepting, but I just can't.

I'm a virgo moon, sometimes I unconciously complain about things and moan about stuff, but I think it's just so I can actually have interesting conversations. I don't nit-pick negatively though i.e bully people/call them names, I just complain about all the little things that go wrong in my life. I'm mostly critical of myself.

I have Virgo mercury, Mars, and Venus.

Let me throw this twist on it.

I see it in myself more as I have a strong desire to improve and/or perfect things. Nothing negative about it. It's in my nature a lot of times.
How can you improve or perfect something if you don't find the flaws or where improvement is possible?
Idk, a lot of people view it as Virgo placements are bitter old people who just complain all day. Not really the case with me. I feel a sense of accomplishment (service!) if I am able to improve something.

I used to play pool and almost get everything in after the break. Then if I didn't do it every time it was a disappointment because I knew it was possible. I COULD do it.
That's the other thing. I'm soooooooo much more critical of myself.
Also, I keep most of it to myself generally.

I just thought I'd put that out there. Learning to accept things as they are is a huge step.
Learning to improve only what really needs it.
I think with Virgos its misunderstood, it comes out wrong and the intent is not truly known.
They mean no harm.

You're right, I am much more critical of myself than others. I think it's more about a being a perfectionist, and wanting everyone around me to be perfect as well.

My mom is a Virgo Moon and she's very discriminatory and highly annoying to be around. I am not too fond of Pisces Moons in general either especially since most of the ones I meet have an afflicted Moon.

Yes. This.

I have a Virgo Sun and NN, so that NN placement amplifies my natural inclination to help people (when otherwise, the overwhelming fire in my chart would drown out that Virgo sun).

I have a friend who is trying to get pregnant and she eats like garbage (never meals, always donuts and junk). I just want to shake her and tell her, "you can't do that when you're pregnant!" but I can't. I just bite my lip.

However, I do fantasize about how I can gently bring it up to her when she does become pregnant. I haven't found that yet because pregnant women are so sensitive anyway, so I will probably never say anything. It drives me insane and it literally keeps me awake at night if I have just seen her earlier in the day.

Worse, I would feel a sense of personal guilt if her baby came out messed up and I didn't say anything about her diet (and alcohol & smoking). But truly, it's not my business, so I might destroy a friendship if I *do* say something.

It actually happened with a friend I had for 26 years of my life. Here's that stoey:

I have experienced great weight loss (60 pounds), so when she needed to lose about 80 pounds, she came to me for advice. Well, one day she called not wanting advice and it came out of my mouth. Friendship destroyed.

What happened was she had starting going to the gym. Well, on her way home one day (with me on the phone), she picked up a basket chicken wings and started eating them. She said, "I just worked out so I earned this" and I corrected her and said she didn't.

This made her furious & as I tried to explain that the only way exercise works is if you don't instantly replace the calories you just burned with junk food, she just became more and more angry. She kept talking over me while I was trying to explain the math.

(-400 calories, +1,000 calories = +600 calories for the day, nothing burned)

When people talk over me, I REALLY freak out! Leo ascendant maybe? Anyway, I got very loud (which I rarely do) and said "Who lost 60 pounds and who is still fat?!!" Needless to say, that did not end well.

The thing is, I just wanted her to acknowledge my math was correct. I just wanted her to understand we don't "earn" junk food after a tiny work out if we want to lose weight. She didn't burn enough calories to = the junk food intake, so her workout was not only a waste of time, she went over her alloted calories for the day.

She just wouldn't acknowledge that. And it wasn't so much that I had to be "right"... I really was trying to help. I thought that because I have been through it, my advice would be more valuable, but it wasn't.

She had been struggling with this weight for 5 years and it was affecting her health (she was 240 pounds, pre-diabetic, having gallstone issues and constant back aches from her breasts being so large). It was all she talked about and I was just trying to help her stay on track. I wanted her eyes back on the goal.

But, she took it as a personal attack so she flipped out and said to never call her again.

*sigh*

And this too. I tear myself apart.

Thank the heavens that I have a Leo ascendant to make me feel good about myself or I might be suicidal.

I'm a virgo sun and mars. But also 3 planets in 6th house.
I don't feel that I'm so critical of others, it's only myself. I'm my own worst enemy, but on the other hand I always try to improve myself and I listen to critique, and I'm not stucked up or full of myself.

it also comes in periods, sometimes I'm very proud of myself and the world, but at other times I feel there is no hope for anyone.

I think it's all because of my sun opposite moon and jupiter opposite saturn, it's almost as I'm a kind of manio-depressive person, without a label on it from any doctors.

Wow that's interesting.
I used to be into fitness. Kind of have it up but when I change shifts at work it'll be easier to get back in it.
I've heard a saying, "80% of the work is in the kitchen" meaning that if you don't eat right then not much weight loss progress is to be expected. Or at least not as was thought.

But you know what I think?
If that's the way "friends" accept help and advice... Bye.
Go be mad then and stay overweight.

I have a Virgo friend who thought he would just sit, play games but just not eat.
Wouldn't listen to me.
Oh well, I just let him fail, which he off course did. But he never got mad. He just stayed lazy. lol

Being a self critical creature, I've gone over it a million times wishing I had just kept my mouth shut, wishing my critical nature didn't hurt her feelings, etc.

However, in all of that analysis, I decided it was time to let go. 26 years does not mean we should continue on just because of our history. People change & grow in different directions sometimes. We really haven't had much in common since we were kids. Since we both moved so far away from home, we became very different. It was honestly very tiring trying to keep up a friendship with someone when you have nothing in common anymore (opposing views on parenting, politics, religion, etc...).

In regards to the epic chicken wing argument of 2014... I was honestly just trying to help. I know that in my heart. If that makes her angry, well then that is yet another sign we aren't compatible as friends.

In the end, I feel okay with it all.

Understanding the essence of Virgo will help understand why this sign can be very critical. Virgo, as a feminine, mutable earth sign, by nature wants to fix things so that the established ways of society can continue and everyone can be productive. It reacts to past experience. This is the underlying dynamic.

Ruled by Mercury, Virgo is efficient and does not miss any details. These are not traits that work so well in personal relationships due to the fact that nobody is really perfect (or perhaps we all are and do not want to hear otherwise). It must be coupled with sympathy and understanding, but not too much, because it is not acceptable to keep the weak and lost souls a burden on society. this is why strong virgo is often found in the healing professions, not necessarily in the caretaking professions.

The Virgo urge to criticize is automatic, built in, and only with proper understanding as to the benefit of this trait can it be used to communicate flaws in a way that helps others reach their perfection, fit in, contribute to society.

Anyway, I personally would welcome Virgo criticism because I understand where it comes from and I don't take it personally. It's so valuable in bringing growth to others. If you have strong virgo in your chart, try to understand your gift of criticism and its purpose, so others can see you as a gift in their lives.

Virgos have great minds, being ruled by mercury. They see the flaws in things and people and they feel the need to be vocal about them.

However Virgos have to learn to keep their mouth shut because most people don't want to be fixed. Also, most things don't need to be fixed, unless you're paid to fix them. Once you realize it's not job to fix people or things, things lighten up a bit.

My Moon is in Virgo and yes, I am critical - but mostly of myself. If I feel critical of someone else, I try very hard to hide it or not say anything but it can be difficult. I am very particular about how I need my environment to be so I do not experience anxiety. My family's strange habits always bothered me... they would eat messily, bite their nails, etc. and I would become very uncomfortable and critical of their careless habits. It would arouse a kind of anxiety in me that was strange. I try not to nitpick, but the urge is strong with this placement, lol...

The big issue with Virgo is that the sign's innate need to help others also has a shadow side - Virgo believes it holds a more superior knowledge of how to improve another person's life, appearance, etc., and does not consider the other person's emotions or reactions to the 'suggestions' it wants to give, which can easily be nitpicking. Accepting idiosyncrasies and faults in others and the self is very important for those with this sign in the chart.

I'm a Virgo dominant person (Mercury, Venus, and NN). I can be critical, but I keep my criticisms to myself. Usually, I let other people's imperfections slide. I only tell people all my criticisms if I'm mad at them (which actually hurt most of the time). I guess I am more accepting because Aquarius is another strong sign in my chart. I think I nitpick myself more than others. I always look for perfection in myself even though I know that such a thing doesn't exist.

I'm like this^

I love helping people though, but I'm not critical. When I do help people I actually have a hard time saying things that might be "harsh/not really nice", but that might be my Libra placements.

I've never met any critical (atleast vocally) Virgos either.

I have Virgo ASC, Moon, SN and Pluto. I'm very critical of myself but I don't feel I am judgemental of others at all. I don't judge people based on income or what they look like or anything like that. I do genuinely want to help people. Like most Virgo's health and fitness is close to my heart, lol. I have done lots of research on it in order to improve my own health and I like to share my knowledge. I am very aware that it can come across as condescending so I choose my words very carefully and try not to go on too long. But I totally do it out of love. I really care and want everyone to feel good. If someone chooses not to take my advice that's ok. I don't get upset but it's frustrating when people are always complaining to me. When you complain to me it makes me want to help but if you just keep ignoring my advice I get annoyed. The one thing that bothers me is if you are dirty. But even then I'll still be your friend, I just won't eat at your house.

This.

I find myself nitpicking not because I'm trying to be a jerk, but mostly because I want to help. I'm looking at the 'best' way to do things in terms of efficiency, time management, least amount of effort needed, etc. When I'm involved in something, the way that I can feel like I'm a part of something is by identifying problem areas and finding ways to make things better (in fact, this is a major area of my job- problem solving and creating better systems).

As I've gotten older, I can see where it trips me up on a personal level, and so I try to avoid it when possible by keeping my mouth shut and being less hair trigger when I want to walk away from people. That said, it also helps on a personal level too, because I am able to identify and keep people out of my life who are personally draining, manipulative, or are putting less into the relationship than I am.

There's good and bad to everything. Not everyone is going to like me, and I'm ok with that. Also, I don't think I would want everyone to like me because that would be really draining (I'm naturally an introvert).

My current Virgo supervisor is the best supervisor I've ever had, in part, because we understand each other on this level. We are both perfectionists (more about ourselves and our own work than about others), and so she knows when to reign me in and tell me to just finish the thing already!

I was born right around the same time as Tyler Perry and I like to imitate Aunt Medea. Is it a Virgo sun thing? Perry is born about 11 days after me.
I think Aunt Medea is hilarious. Must be Virgo!

I also do the same things as him too, like talk funny. Very similar sense of humor in a lot of ways.

That's just how the Virgo influence goes. Serves an important purpose.

The only thing I have in Virgo is Pluto. My Astrological signature is Capricorn/Virgo. I have Saturn Pluto trine and both sextile my moon.......
