EDIT: I actually meant to title this 'My Capricorn Ascendant shuts my Libra placements DOWN'Usually Libra's are the social butterflies, talktative, kind people etc. Now, I have 5 placements in Libra (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Chiron, North Node) all in the 9th house... With Mercury kind of tipping in the 8th a little.. With all these Libra placements including my Venus trine Jupiter exact, you'd think that I'm a social butterfly. Haha NOT! I'm the type of guy who goes to parties and will only follow around one person or stick to one group of people.
Also, a lot of people see me as this quiet person... When are Libra's ever quiet? lol I have Mercury Opposite Saturn, so it's times when I'm quiet because I'm scared I'll say the wrong things at the wrong times. So I rather not speak at all. So basically, to get to my question.. Can your Ascendant win over the Sun and Moon in a natal chart? Seems like mines does... My Sun and Moon contradict my Ascendant, so it's hard being 'me' sometimes I should say lol ------------------ capricorn asc ♑ - neptune rising ♆ libra sun ♎ libra moon ♎ Triple Libran, 9th house Stellium in Libra IP: Logged |

Let's see it. Post it up. It's hard to tell just from the information given. But i do suspect that 1)Venus is afflicted or the sign is one that is more introverted. 2)the 5th house sign is conservative and more inward focused or the house ruler of the 5th is afflicted by a sign that "limits" it. Yes, sadly, your Asc can win over. I am a Fire Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune person with Cap rising and I am quiet, withdrawn and mellow. At some point I thought it was a blessing, because I was excused from the terrible consequences of being too impulsive, but at the price of turning into an ice princess wall flower. I want my fire back!! ------------------ ~the raving one dancing in the nude~ IP: Logged |

Actually that's a good thing. Cap or Pisces AC means the person is a mature soul, especially if Neptune is on the AC or Saturn is. IP: Logged |

Well, my ascendant is compatible with my Sun and is somewhat okay with my Moon, so I really can't relate to this. I feel more Leo than anything. But I've noticed this rings true for my friends that have extroverted Suns and have introverted ascendants. I have a friend who's an Aries, but he has Cancer asc, and I actually did think he was really shy at first. My other friend, she is an Aquarius, but she has Scorpio rising and my first impression of her was secretive and extremely introverted. I believe your ascendant can make your Sun and Moon have less of an influence on your outward personality since it is the "mask" that you wear. IP: Logged |

As a fellow cap riser, I have to say that cap rising can definitely dominate your personality. People often say that I'm the first quiet Gemini that they have ever met. Lol.The mercury opposite saturn would definitely make you less verbally expressive as well. It isn't so bad though. By being quiet, people will think you're mysterious. Haha. IP: Logged |

Neptune in Uranus in 1st.Neptune in 1st -very receptive, pensive and inward focused. Uranus in 1st-spaced out, aloof, seems "out there" and focused on the grand. I often find that Uranus people are not great with small talks. Their minds are far more fascinated by bigger, unusual and "grand" things. Ruler of 1st house in the 2nd. You are slow moving and steady. Focused more on personal well-being and your inner working than people. Others may assume you are bull-headed, conceited and too closed off to others, when in actual fact, you are more concerned with your own personal self. You really take the phrase "mind your own business" literally and practice it. Neptune sits on your Sun, Moon by square These people are private, secluded, reclusive and hard to get to know intimately. They prefer to be selective of people they want around them too. Saturn sits on Mercury by opposition Not much into conversing sporadically. Doesn't partake in "meaningless" frivolity. Doesn't do "small" talk. Stellium of planets in 9th- the geek. Lol Do you read a lot? Wonder about a whole lot of philosophical subjects? Look more at the bigger picture? When i see a stellium in 9th,i picture a library student,a professor, a scientist or the guy from "a beautiful mind" etc. who is out to make meaning of the bigger picture in the world. Stellium in 9th can be more serious and, unlike the 3rd, seem more "intense".They can be verbose on one hand or very "into themselves" on the other. Usually the latter feel that people are just not that interested in what they have to say or they may find people not that interesting to talk to. The mind, either way, is always conceiving, wondering, making sense of all that is around them etc. Add to that, you have Venus in 8th. Venus in 8th prefer one-on-one chats to crowds and can be quite "standoffish" and coming off as private and exclusive. They love intimacy and often,in social places, this is hard to come by and so,they can just "shut down". The Venus/Pluto wide square suggests that we will most likely find you in the darker places of the room, smoking a cigar and rolling your eyes to all the superficial interactions around you. You are just soo "over" it. IP: Logged |

hello fellow 21 deg cappy i know your pain...my cap asc, leo sun and pisces moon all just tolerate each other. i kinda like it. my progressed ascendent in aqua -- i really love it at least you are concious of it. but yeah it is hard when you have a lot of fire or air but a mellow ascendant. makes it harder to express yourself...i get jealous of people who have compatible sun, moons and risings. i think they seem blessed somehow...IP: Logged |

Not gonna lie, cap rising is pretty annoying, especially for a fire or air sign. Luckily I've learned how to act like my Leo self again, but it takes effort sadly. You gotta get out of that reserved status minded stupor and just do orsay something stupid and silly and you'll be you within no time xDIP: Logged |

yeah, i was going to say neptune 1st. i have 7 planets all conjunct in libra - sun/venus/mars/pluto/etc. and i am very social after you get to know me, but my ASC definitely "wins" and hides that social nature. i have neptune on the ASC as well and it does enhance the ASC to the point you're more that sign than the others. in your case, the cap. that is because neptune is receptive/dreamy/changeable. more philosophically... your cap ASC makes you who you are; all of your placements are your personality, so nothing is actually taking away from anything else, it is just who you are.

Hey, I have a Capricorn Ascendant, too! I'm a Leo Sun and I would say the seriousness and reserve of the Rising sign did put a damper on my Leo energy in some ways growing up.But, remember, life is all about choice. If you choose to be too reserved and quiet to express your real self, then that's how you'll remain. Take charge of your chart! I think some people use astrology as a fatalistic kind of thing. Like they're doomed to be a certain way because of certain placements. But, you can be whoever you want to be. I would say I'm a lot less reserved and stoic because I embrace and express my Leo Sun a lot more. But, it's been a conscious effort it's not something that just happens. I think my Ascendant just shows now as a certain maturity and practicality. I'm constantly being told I act older than my mid-20's age. I do sort of approach the world like someone older. But, I'm also a lot more expressive nowadays and let my Sun shine through. I joke around more freely and I'm more outgoing and let my colorful Leo energy out more easily. To the OP, you can do the same and be that social Libra butterfly you want, just with the Capricorn ASC flavor in the mix. Just start finding your confidence. I think that's what moves us away from the Rising sign, because that's the "safe" way to interact with people. Our Sun is the way we interact when we're more self-assured. IP: Logged |

I originally said the same thing to myself, it's quite hard though. Lol, my Ascendant sign is very blatant and pure obvious. I'm very stiff/stern looking, I'm learning to loosen up a bit (progressed Asc in Aquarius). Not to add I can look or act weird sometimes (Uranus 1st house). Sometimes I want to socialize and act like that party animal (my libra placements lol) but it just doesn't look right from me. Although, I do joke around a lot with people (my Mercury/Jup and Venus/Jup). I can have fun and socialize, but it also depends on the people I'm around. I noticed that I have Moon Square Neptune with everyone in my generation, I'm not sure if that affects how I come across to people my age. But I hear that Moon Sq Neptune in the synastry chart isn't too good. And then again, like you said.. It's all confidence :-) I can't stand my Sun Square Ascendant, which gives me a lack of confidence in expression. But I have to get over the aspects and run my chart myself like you said! You may have placements and aspects, but it's up to you how you want to live your life. Thanks for your reply! ------------------ capricorn asc ♑ - neptune rising ♆ libra sun ♎ libra moon ♎ Triple Libran, 9th house Stellium in Libra
