Reaching back in time and how I'm constantly trying to regenerate myself and get over it A Phoenix-like mentality. The home life as a child was a mess. I found some peace in seclusion; the four walls of my room. And so now, I am very much an introvert and my home is my escape from the world. It's NOT a healthy thing at times. But MOST days I have true bliss being home, reflecting and comparing.

Natal Jupiter tightly conjuncts Neptune. I mentally take escapes to the past often, period.

I have a good bit of Capricorn energy as well. A lot about me misses old traditions. Funny being an Aqua sun -- my Sun doesn't stand a chance next to all my Pluto and Saturn energy.

Wow... we sound like spiritual twins! I can see a lot of similarities between us. The way you described how Neptune ruling your 4th and Pluto being in the 12th really resonated with me, quite intensely. I've gone through the same thing - an issue with fixating on how past trauma now destroys me emotionally and prevents me from moving forward. I almost have to reach back into the past to correct the future... I'm considering going to forgiveness therapy.

Thank you for the lovely compliment! I can't help but remember the multiple times I spent many hours researching and reading about astrology the night before a big paper was due or instead of doing reading for class haha! I would love to speak with you privately but you'll have to excuse me for any late responses since I'm across the globe in Abu Dhabi at the moment. We're 8 hrs ahead so it's pretty late here. I'll message you very soon

You're welcome! Don't worry about getting back to me asap, just write me when the mood strikes. I can completely relate about off-topic research on astrology, tarot, etc. instead of doing schoolwork! LOL.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon. Abu Dhabi truly sounds amazing. My 9h Moon is jealous. Have fun, and stay safe.

I have moon in cancer and a cap stellium in the 4th house. I hate change. I am terrified of it. When I am sad I get very nostalgic and wish for the past, even thouugh the past isn't that good, it just feels known and comfortable. It makes me sad to think how much things have changed and how much things will change. It seems like things only deteriorate instead of getting better.

I have a hard time letting go of mementos of the past. Little trinkets.

Cancer stellium + Cap moon. 11H/5H

I am 5% nostalgic

Change......what kinda change are we talking about here?? I can change all day long 365/24/7 as long as I have a comfy bedroom to retire to.

I have mostly cardinal planets so it's very simple for me to find new solutions in change. I am a good "map reader" but then I get freakin bored and zoom-zoom-zoom to next adventure. And I hate talking about "yesterday" or "what could have been" or "what if's". I will truly get irritated if you do that to me!

However, I'm not entirely sure if I can see a Sun-Pluto person hating change or being resistant to it? Every Sun-Pluto person I've met, myself included [semi-sextile is not a big aspect but, it still is there, as the only one my Sun gets!], has become empowered by certain change... for me, it's particularly with my psyche and my appearance. On many occasions, I'm anxious to shed my old values, outward characteristics etc. and change them.

I agree about the Taurus/Scorpio axis. I'm curious to hear you elaborate more on Capricorn placements. I never thought of this and I'm fascinated!

I'm a sun square pluto. I notice that the Aquas with sun square pluto are very protective if the ones they love and develop nostalgia or attachment to places.

Capricorn, especially cap sun want to think about life in terms of legacy. It's not the controlling, attachment of pluto. But they do think about family a lot because that's their sense of legacy.

Most capricorn I know (with sun conjunct uranus and neptune even) are attached to traditions in some way.so even tho for my generation, cap suns can be weird and outcast, they are always nostalgic of familiarity, family, their own roots.

I haven't met a cap that wants something not traditional (at the core of their heart I mean)

Thanks for sharing your story! I can definitely see how Cap planets in the 4th along with Cancer Moon in the 4th would create a fear of change. Sometimes, I feel that way about my family - like things never get better, only worse... it helps to be as positive and open minded as possible, and to accept change as a part of the human life cycle with meditation and affirmations. Easier said than done, but I do that when I have nostalgia and negative thoughts about how my family sphere has changed for the worse.

In terms of change, I was thinking something like moving houses/apartments, going to a new school or job, family members and friends changing in various ways, etc. I wish I had some of your tenacity - it's difficult for me to get past certain 'what ifs' and things from the past, mostly all negative, that haunt me. Libra Sun is cardinal but for some reason it doesn't help me in this area.

Thank you. I got your email too. I plan on replying shortly. I hope to find a forgiveness therapy program of some sort when I move. It's supposed to work wonders for those who can't let go of the past, especially fights, hurts, and unsettled scores. I'm very much that way. T.Pluto sq. my natal Sun the past few years hasn't helped! But I'm working on it.

Thanks for elaborating! Your description of how Sun-Pluto works in terms of resisting change makes more sense to me now. Also, I totally agree with your statement on Capricorn, now that I consider it. Every Cap Sun I've met has wanted something classic and stable in life. An easy going, predictable home life, routine work, etc.

I'm nostalgic, but I can't live without a change. I get extremely bored, if I don't travel, change my hair colour, have new friends...

Stellium in 4th House, including Moon and Uranus (they conjunct). I don't mind being nostalgic, I love remembering nice places I lived in and things I've done, people I've met. Every country I've live in, gives me a warm fizzy feeling every time I come back!

(I've lived in 4 different countries, and speak 4 languages from different language groups)

VERY much in a similar boat! T-Pluto sq natal Moon and will be lingering for quite some time.

Sheesh….we're going to survive these trenches my dear lol. Take your time with the email darling. I can not wait to find the right therapist as well; it's truly a must! It's the best release. I may down right grovel at the feet of the very one who helps me break through my brick walls I can tell you that much!….

Yeah I think it's mostly with family/home matters for me. I don't get nostalgic much for friends or exes or past fun times, just close family times.

I want to settle down despite my desire for adventure because I'm so scared of everything changing and having nothing of the past some day.

Just emailed you. I'm sorry you, too, have been going through a transit Pluto square to a personal planet. It's really difficult. However, it's showing us that this is a time in our lives where we must grow, shed old patterns, let go of excessive controlling behaviors, etc. I'm trying to see that for myself, too... It's hard to let those walls come down, since we built them for a reason! It's knowing who to trust to let inside and then letting it all go so you can find healing that's important. One day, we'll both find the right shrink. I'm going to have a 12H Saturn transit not too far from now and I'm sensing big progress when it comes to exploring my psychology and making strides in therapy.

Your nostalgic tendencies coupled with a love of change is definitely show in the paradoxical placement of Moon con. Uranus in the 4th. Intriguing! I have Moon trine Uranus and yes, I change my clothing, hairstyle, etc. quite often. I am a neophile [in love with all things news, a very Uranian trait. I also have an 11th house stellium]. You are amazing for living in so many different places and speaking 4 languages!

I know how you feel. I feel like Libra's greatest fear is being alone, forever... I want change and excitement, to explore all things new, but I like the idea of having someone to come home to. I'm nostalgic about family, but it's close relationships romantically that really hit home, and friendships as well [I have my Venus in the 11th]. I value my friends and I want a romantic partner who can stick with me through thick and thin. My friendships and future love, hopefully marriage, is something I don't want to change. I think everyone wants stability in at LEAST one area of life. It would be a bit odd if they didn't. It's simply human nature. It's why we have religion, rituals, traditions, holidays, etc.

My best guesses as to what can cause this:

-Sun and/or Moon in Cancer
-Water signature in the natal
-Moon-Mercury and/or Moon-Saturn?
-Mars in Cancer

Cancer moon. I hated having to move schools as a child because that mean having to make new friends. I was already attached to the ones I had and new school really made me uncomfortable. Worse is that I have mercury in virgo and it is an instinct to stick with what I know. I wish I wasn't that way then because I always felt like I was got "left behind". When my parents had that awful divorce and we were forced to move twice within 4 months, I really hated it. Although I didn't let myself get depressed that time, it caught up with my 5 years later.

I got diagnosed last year with mild bpd, with emotion regulation being my weakest ability. Since then, I've gone through dialectical therapy and it helped me accept that things don't have to always stay the same for me to be happy. I've learned that if I let myself just grieve about things instead of trying to hold on to the things in the past, I would be in a much healthier and happier state of mind.

Once I've learned that feelings come and go, I stopped feeling "left behind" or stuck in the past. I still like to reminisce about the past, the comforting times. But now I don't try to make the past the present.

My fiance has mars in cancer, and despite having moon in capricorn, he is very nostalgic. Although it is very different from mine. He just remembers all the pain he experience as a child and the conflict between his family members. He also remembers the good times, but it is the good times that make him unable to accept their shortcomings and it makes him very upset. He can't seem to get past that his family was what they were then and they are what they are now. I always tell him that while he loves his family and would do anything for them, he can't let them be in his life if they are causing him so much grief.

While having a cancer ascendant I always attributed it more toward Uranus conjunct sn that made me crave stability or the fact that Saturn rules my 7th. But I can see how my Leo moon will sometimes make me a bit too prideful about sticking to things that are more comfortable or nostalgic even if they aren’t the most efficient.

I too attribute lack of stability in my childhood with those traits. It seemed like my parents made every big decision of our life suddenly (Uranus)And I never got the chance for proper goodbyes.

On another note I’d like to mention that I absolutely hate getting or having to adapt to new technology. I do not like getting new cars and having to acclimate to new settings. I only trade in cars when I feel that my old one is no longer considered dependable. Almost all of my phones have been upgraded because I was forced to because they weren’t able to upgrade onto a new network. I’ve had a the same thing happen with laptops and other devices that just became obsolete. I prefer to keep things separate and still prefer to use an old iPod instead of draining my phone battery to listen to music and I rarely utilize all the perks and apps that come with my electronics. I’m not really savvy with all the social media…only sticking to fb for staying in touch with long lost people who have been some part of my life.. lol nostalgia for sure. I’m super sentimental as well. I love seeing people grow and all their happy moments. I hate feeling like a slave to technically. I take deliberate hiatuses from them periodically and go on book tangents for reprieve.
