You guys are among my favourites, but this really drives me insane.

They will be nice and affectionate, and hope for things to go back to normal. But unless you have irrefutable evidence that you don't mind pointing out like a lawyer, they're unlikely to admit they were wrong. In their minds, whatever they did was justified. It was 'for the best' and they wish you would also see that it was in your best interests (even when it wasn't really).

After a disagreement/fight(verbal or non-verbal), they seem to be saying "I love you, but quit being such a baby! I wasn't wrong per se, let's be grown-ups about it now."

^They may not use the exact words, but this is what they're trying to convey.
