There are varying opinions on degree of orb for cazimi and combustSun conjunct mercury cazimi, translated 'at the heart' is said to be extremely beneficial combust is not so welcomed how would you classify this? 7H Leo Sun @ 20*08' conjunct 7H Leo rx Mercury @ 19*45' 23' orb? I'm guessing combust, although Sun is dominant in Leo so that must strengthen the effect, and Sun is ruler of 7H any experts on this sun-mercury aspect to shine some light (no pun intended)?

Ok, so I read this thread which was bumped: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/223110.html The person with the chart I was asking about though demonstrates the qualities mentioned in that post but also has Aqu AC and 1H Aq NN. This person is extremely street smart, not book smart, and is somewhat a poor listener. I was wondering if the negative qualities would show up more in a personal relationship (taurus moon) and how a few more minutes orb would alter the thinking. Thus, wondering what the cut off is for cazimi vs combust. IP: Logged |

Well, well, well! Isn't that my least favourite aspect! I've had a lot of personal experience with this aspect (by personal I mean I've had many opportunities to deal with people with this aspect) and while this aspect might be considered either good or bad from their point of view, it's hardly ever "pleasant" for those who have to communicate with Sun conj. Mercury people on daily basis. Like you said, they are mostly really poor listeners, since this is the ultimate "my, myself and I" aspect (and they say Aries Suns are selfish - ha!). They talk and talk and talk, all about themselves,of course, putting their values first and seeing other people through the lenses of logic of their own, without really stopping to check their whether their theories about whomever they are talking to are correct. Some of them manage to control themselves enough to ask a question or two, but that doesn't last too long, and we are back to square one, or "enough about you, let me tell you about me". I guess that being so self-centered might do them some good, because these people usually do all they can to fulfill their needs and dreams, and having an active brain like theirs, focused on themselves must be a nice survival skill, but when it comes to relating to others, they can barely see inside of their heads.
