I wonder what in a chart might tell if a person would adopt a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle? IP: Logged |

i'd look to the 6th house. perhaps a virgo cusp there. and jupiter…as moral/ethic representation. and even saturn, for applying structure to diet.i turned vegetarian at 14 yrs old. was off and off again vegan over many years. just recently, within the past year, i started to incorporate local, organic, or wild meat into my diet. a large reason of why i was vegetarian was a major opposition to factory farming and the meat industry in general. but, some light was shed on the choices i was making regarding getting protein sources from far away places, and how that isn't very good for the earth either. supporting local farmers and hunters who treat their animals well, to get my protein feels like the right choice. i know eat happy meat about twice a month. i have a pluto/saturn conjunction in the 6th, and a uranus/jupiter conjunction opposite my sun/moon/mars 6th house cusp is libra IP: Logged |

I'm a vegetarian. Started at about age 13, so basically as soon as I was able to regulate my own diet. I have Venus(chart ruler) in the 6th House. Ruler of H6 is compassionate Pisces. I can't stand the thought that a living being had to suffer for my meal. I think that's pretty much it. I am also really, really, really fussy about food. And yet my appetite is indomitable, as per my Taurus Sun. No matter what happens, I always have a healthy appetite. A funny contradiction in that. IP: Logged |

I was vegetarian for one year and half before turning vegan 2 years ago.I only have Virgo MC. 6th house is in Taurus and I only have NN and Pholus there. Ruler of the 6th is in the 8th. Jupiter is in Aquarius and squares Saturn. Uranus is in Sag in the 1st and trines Sun, Mercury and Mars. Uranus also sextiles Jupiter. Hmm let's hope more people post, so we can see if there is a pattern somewhere. IP: Logged |

I turned relatively not so much time ago, but i cannot imagine eating animal or fish flash anymore. However i still eat dairy and eggs. I only have Virgo ASC, an empty 6th house. However, my 6th house ruler is Uranus and i made a transition when it was opposite my chart ruler Mercury and Venus (in transit).

I actually looked at a bunch of celebs/friends who are vegetarians and Mercury was overwhelmingly prominent in their charts. I didn't pay attention to houses because most didn't have birth times, but if I remember correctly, Sagittarius and Aquarius were prominent as well.IP: Logged |

Vegan checking in. Saturn rules my 6th house as Capricorn is on the cusp, but I have no planets there in H6. I have conjunct Mercury in Leo & Saturn in Virgo (ruler of my 6th) in H1. ------------------ “Most people would rather be sheep than stand on their own with antlers on.” IP: Logged |

Some of the people I have known to turn vegetarian in my life have had Pisces placements. Pisces Sun, ASC or Moon. Also, other mutable signs. Mutable placements are more aware of what they put into their bodies. I personally have noticed it most in Pisces placements.

Aquarians - ethics baby.sometimes virgo ascs, I feel like the unhealthiness bothers them and they are part of the pisces/virgo vertex. Also I agree with pisces placements, moon, and asc for sure. IP: Logged |

yes, i agree with pisces….compassion. and the mutability factor.aqua as well, i could see choosing vegetarianism for a variety of reasons from morality to a more uranian, going against the grain kinda thing. my son, who was raised vegetarian until the age of 4, rarely chooses to partake in meat when we do. (i'd never force him) …he often trys and dismisses it. but i could see him choosing vegetarianism in his teens. IP: Logged |

People shouldn't automatically equate vegetarianism with enlightened ethics or compassion. Plenty of nasty people were vegetarians. Most aren't that well known but include some abusive cultists, though a few have been more infamous who earned places in the history books. Not saying that somehow invalidates being a vegetarian, what I am saying is that you should dig deeper than I see most attempting to do (though Vajra struck me as the most relevant, astrologically speaking). Plenty of people have ethics and compassion but aren't vegetarians just as people who lack these things (well I suppose they have ethics of sorts, but not generally kindly ones) can be, so something more is going on here. Btw, I have prominent Sag and also 3H mercury (sun and stellium) in Libra and I doubt I'll ever be a vegetarian...though I do have ethics regarding it (obviously not an "either/or" things to me but part of a spectrum). i agree, and didn't intend for any of my posts to come off as me thinking morality is the only reason people choose vegetarianism. it was more that for the people who do have that reason, i can hypothesize what that might look like astrologically. i'm sure their are a zillion reasons…ranging from needing to do it for health reasons to simply being raised culturally/religiously as one to probably some crazy/even sinister ones. my astrological knowledge is not broad enough to know what might reflect these in a chart. or rather, i just didn't focus on them. though my brother in law is a vegetarian because he can't eat meat (health wise), and he is a virgo….don't know anymore of his chart though.

and i'd add that some people might choose it for moral/ethical reasons and have poor morals/ethics in other areas of their life. and likewise, it does not signify that people who eat meat lack compassion or a moral compass.IP: Logged |

Nice to see fellow vegetarians/vegans here Some things I share that others mentioned, Saturn rules the 6th, Saturns conj Pluto and Mars Venus/Moon/SN in the 6th Sadge Uranus sextile angular Aqua Merc, sq Pisces Sun, trine ASC Neptune Sagittarius sextile Pisces Sun (in orb but out of sign) 15 years running. My Asc recently progressed into Virgo and this year I've been eating more Vegan meals. I was vegan for a time around 2001-2003. But nothing Virgo natally. However! When I made the switch in 1999 prog Moon was in Virgo and tNeptune in Aquarius was smack on the DSC,,and tJupiter was squaring my angular Aqua Merc. IP: Logged |

I have Chrion in the 6th house. Taurus is on the cusp, and the ruler of my 6th, Venus, is conjunct Jupiter. I am also very Jupiterian with Sun/Uranus/Ascendant conjunct in Sagittarius. I've been a vegetarian for over 10 years with some bouts of veganism. My sister has Sun/Mercury/Neptune conjunct in Sag in her 6th house. Her 6th house ruler, Jupiter, is conjunct Saturn in her 4th house. She became a vegetarian very early- she was 11 years old! She influenced the rest of my family to become vegetarians. My dad and mom made the switch soon after. There has not been meat in my house in ages! IP: Logged |

This argument again? Next, you're going to scream "bacon" and run away, right? I don't know if Hitler was a vegetarian (none of us were there) but if he was, who the hell cares? As someone pointed out above, being vegan or vegetarian doesn't prove you have a stronger moral / value system. For me, I became vegetarian for health reasons at first (I am a Virgo, so duh). Then, as I surrounded myself with more vegan friends, I learned about animal suffering and I felt it was really unfair to treat dogs & cats like they are special while murdering the other animals. And since you brought up Hitler -- it kind of is like the Holocaust if you think about it because one animal (humans) have deemed the other ones as unworthy as equals. We demoted some to pets for our companionship and entertainment and the rest, we exploit & kill in the same manner that Jews, Romani, homosexuals, etc. were in the Holocaust. Just food for thought (pun intended). Anyway, for me (and my morals / ethics), I can't be anything like a Nazi. I don't even kill insects anymore. I feel as though they have a right to life just as much as I do. I prefer they live outside, so I catch them in a cup & relocate them. All of that said, that doesn't make me superior to anyone else. I am just sharing my way of thinking / living and why I came to my decision to be vegan. ------------------ “Most people would rather be sheep than stand on their own with antlers on.” IP: Logged |

The 2 vegetarians I know birth info for both have something in the 6th house. For my SO, his moon is in the 6th house. Cusp of the 6th house in Gemini. 6th house ruler in the 12th house. For the other, Mars and Jupiter are in the 6th house. Cusp of 6th house is Aqua. 6th house ruler in 4th house. Her birth time may be up to 10-15 min off though. Still doesn't change where the house/planet placements though. I don't know of any vegans. Recently (a couple of months ago) I found out my dietary habits have a category - Pescetarianism. Never knew this had a label and I still don't like it. I eat what I like d*mn it I would like to adopt a fully vegetarian diet, but the time I tried, I find it hard to eat enough protein. But since it is a form of omitting certain meat types, I'll include myself. In my chart, I have Mars, Urnaus, and Neptune in the 6th house. Cusp of 6th house Sag. 6th house ruler in 9th house.
