I have a lot of respect for her and her message to the world.

The chart shows a strong Cardinal energy, and Jupiter in Aquarius to me signifies her message to the world about society education.

Her 10th house Saturn.

This placement rises to the top
(even if it doesn't stay there)

She's a brave girl and her message is imperative.

The factor of Mercury in Leo closely opposite Uranus in Aquarius has to be interpreted in light of the fact that Uranus is in its dignity in Aquarius.

Mercury in Leo in the 1st is certainly descriptive of someone with the potential to shout to be heard. Opposite Uranus in Aquarius it suggests messages that the social order needs to hear, even if they spur backlash. Pretty much all tight, angular Mercury-Uranus aspects indicate the potential for intelligence to be developed outside the conventional limitations. The only question is what will she do with it?

Astrotheme.com reports in the bio/data heading for Malala's chart an e-mail directly with her saying her parents are sure that she was born between 8 and 9 AM.

It also states she does not relate to Virgo rising, more Leo. That would reduce the possible times to pre-8:30 AM. I agree that she is not a likely candidate at all for almost any type of Virgo rising chart based upon what I know about her so far. ("Bookish" self-description from her own biography is not enough justification). However, if no other charts besides this Cancer rising chart prove viable I will be forced to test early Virgo charts as well since Ascendants there make contra-parallels and squares to Pluto.

I may have to correct the chart I have posted here, but will only do so after I have had the time to make a positive determination. It may be a while. I see I was a bit too excited and too willing to believe astrodatabank's statement that she was born at daybreak. I cannot find anywhere in her published biography I Am Malala that she says she was born at "daybreak."

The late Leo chart posted there by astrotheme is not a lock either. A late Leo Asc is possible for her, but not the most likely one in Leo in my estimation. I will methodically go through every degree of that sign, as well as back into Cancer.

This is one of those lessons for me that I sometimes offer other astrologers -- to not get so excited about having a chart for a particular admirable personality that we don't vet it properly before spreading it around like a rumor.
