Depth of Personality—–The Legacy of Retrograde PlanetsI use myself as one of my main lab rats. I have several Retrograde planets–Saturn, Neptune, Mercury and Chiron. I am a Gemini. We are thought to be shallow. I have a Cancer Moon which is not a shallow moon at all. However, I am a very deep person for a Gemini. I think the depth is a result of Retrograde planets. Chiron Retrograde inspired my thinking along these lines. I have had a lot of pain. It is hard to know if I have had more pain than average person. However, I have had very deep pain. The nature of a Retrograde planet is that it winds and winds in a circular manner like a snail shell. It works in the manner of Hansel and Gretyl lost in the woods with only the bread crumbs to lead them. They must follow a winding path if they are to find their way out of the dense woods. That is the nature of a Retrograde planet. There is no native with a Chiron Retrograde who will be shallow. There is no native with a Chiron Retrograde who will not suffer the pain of the interior walk to the depths and, hopefully, make it out. Mercury Retrograde makes for a unique way of thinking. One must dig down to the bottom of any subject before one can learn. One must build step by step in a, sometimes, annoying way. However, once one incorporates the knowledge, one can use it in very creative ways. I have Mercury in Gemini, Retrograde. I have a strange thinking process. I used to be bemused by it. I would be ashamed, sometimes, but now I have come to peace. There are some things that other people do that I can’t. I cannot follow mirror images. I was in a dance group and I could not follow the mirror image of the teacher. I had to go to the home of the teacher for private lessons. Once I learned the dances, I was fine but I had to be standing behind her to learn. I take guitar lessons. Again, I cannot follow mirror images. I have to face the same way as the teacher to follow his hand motions. I cannot learn exercise machines for the life of me. Eventually I do, but then I am too embarrassed to show my face in the gym. I exaggerate for entertainment purposes but I hope you get the picture. I have to learn everything from the ground up. I cannot skip a block or I lose the whole concept. However, once I get it, I can fly in creative ways. That is Gemini in Mercury Retrograde, as I experience it. Neptune Retrograde makes for a very deeply spiritual person. If the native does not find God in a traditional way, he will look for God in non traditional ways. There seems to be an unstoppable quest to know why the native was born and for what purpose. Saturn Retrograde makes for self doubt. If you see the most seemingly confident person and that person has Saturn Retrograde, you can know that there is a great deal of self doubt. These days, we call it low self esteem. Whatever the name, this native does not feel he is worthy enough. He feels a sense of inferiority. It can be overcome, though, as Saturn rewards persistence. Think of it this way. If you eat your vegetables, you will grow big muscles. Uranus Retrograde struggles with his uniqueness. He feels he is weird. We all do, really. However, it is the strong person who can know that we all are weird and that our weirdness is part of what makes us beautiful. The Uranus Retrograde native may feel as if he is more of the “weird kid in the corner”. He needs to embrace this and make it part of his allure and not his baggage. Pluto Retrograde must work very hard to find his personal power. It will not come easily as in a Putin. It will come slowly and laboriously. That is the nature of the Retrograde planet. He will be forced to understanding the workings of power before he can claim his own. Venus Retrograde may be the hardest of Retrograde planets. This native struggles with love. Love becomes a winding hallway such as in garden mazes of old. Think of an Englishwoman walking through a garden maze. It winds and turns in so many unexpected ways that she may despair of finding the exit. When Retrograde hits the planet of love, one has a difficult state of affairs. Love seems very, very complicated such that one may despair of finding one’s way through it’s maze. I have not had enough experience with Jupiter Retrograde to write about it. However, I will add your responses if you provide them! I cannot personally speak to the other Retrograde planets but I await your responses! ------------------ Want To Ask Any Question About Bible Prophecy? Go For it. Can you give more examples of how you feel it functions, Dani? ------------------ Want To Ask Any Question About Bible Prophecy? Go For it. It is Free, of course. http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

Sure Well, I'm a little lucky in finding a job (interesting I'm working in the same company for the last 8 years!! lol) I feel that Jupiter here, in my personal way, makes me like more of food. Yeah I'm overweight and I like to eat... But inside me? I have Jupiter in Aries... all the impulses I feel more to myself than for expansion of others. I go with the flow, but I don't make the expansion outside... I need to grow inside to then expose this to the outside. quote: Originally posted by Ami Anne: Can you give more examples of how you feel it functions, Dani?

A rule of thumb is going INWARD in the sphere of the planet in order to deal with it. So Pluto Retro would be someone who cannot deal with power very well until he recycles the ideas of power and the concepts. Then, he will understand it at an even deeper level than someone who is not a Retro imo. Hope that helps, Friend!

Well, I don't know. I'm not sure I understand the notion of "power" much. Something with not being a native English speaker. Thanks, but would you mind making this more clear please? IP: Logged |

Mars Retro may feel insecure about his goals and passions. He may be very intellectual about them, rather than act on them. He may think and think and think before he can act.------------------ Want To Ask Any Question About Bible Prophecy? Go For it. It is Free, of course. http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

Augh. Thank you for this. I don't find a lot on CHIRON-R, and as a fellow 'retro wounded healer', it's definitely, and deeply insightful. The thought that the 'winding' creates a sort of Escher-esque labyrinth is very akin to my personal experience. It would seem as if the closer I get to resolving my pain, the more it feels that I've gone in circles, or merely failed to note how many doors I really had in front of me before clearing the maze! This thread made me go into my chart and pay attention to retro's -Gemini Jupiter retrograde in the 1st - I'm not sure how distill the effect of this one in my chart. But like another person has pointed out I have a large appetite and I have to main an extremely active lifestyle to keep that appetite from ballooning me. I was overweight for the majority of my life to this point and quickly causing stretch marks that forever bother me. I have heard jupiter in Gemini gives a scattered shot toward wisdom. Check. I also have Chiron retrograde in Cancer in the 3rd house. I have had my pains more than my peers but I'm young and I'm sure more is to come and I'm ok with that. I can go into detail for those who care for more Chiron research. My final retrograde is my True Node in Pisces in the 11th house. I don't know what that will bring. IP: Logged |

Neptune and Saturn I relate with. When I was younger the Saturn was me to a t. I feel I've lived in several lifetimes, completely alien to the world we live in. The Neptune explains a lot. Awesome post!! IP: Logged |

My Chiron is a big ol problem. Anyone who has ever looked at my chart notices it almost immediately. I just found out at an astrology meet up that my Chiron is in a grand trine with NN, Merc/Pluto. The professional astrologer who pointed it out wasn't sure what to make of it cause he hasn't made his personal conclusions on Chiron yet. If you're really interested in my Chiron you can take a look at my chart here - http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum11/HTML/013166.html or just ask me any question. Though against my nature I'm working pretty hard to be an open book. But all in all, retrograde Chiron in 3rd house Cancer and pretty much what it implies is true. Most people phrase it as the "mother wound". Just not sure how the retrograde part adds to it. The next astrology book I read will be on Chiron Edit: I was reading Chiron stuff and found some old threads around 2011. I noticed back then you didn't believe the retrograde mattered with Chiron, Ami, when did that change? IP: Logged |
