Scorpio gets the bad rap (they're no innocents, don't get me wrong) for stalking exes, same for Cancers. However, this was the first time I've heard anything about Pisces engaging in the same type of behavior.

That's a coward's way out and I don't agree with it, but they're too scared of arguments. That's why they're "relieved" when the other person breaks up with them ... they didn't have the courage to do so themselves.

It's quite shocking as they can stay in an unhappy dynamic until the person gets the hint to move on. They would rather torture their own well-being rather than to take action.

I agree. This is definitely the explanation.

About the cowardice...I am like you, but I think it's just a different way of being and relating to people: it's not necessarily about cowardice, but mostly about being compassionate and hating to hurt people's feelings, in a measure you and I don't understand.

My Pisces best friend is still on good terms with all of her exes.

Actually the pattern of her life is that men will take her for granted, break up with her, then realize how much they took her granted, and come back grovelling for a second chance.

Actually that was a pattern in my life, too.

(I'm a Pisces moon for those who don't know.)

I gave them a second chance but shouldn't have, because trust had been broken permanently. Once I realized that, I broke up with them.

2) Dump her for XYZ reason
3) Stay "friends" with her
4) Try to reignite the former flame when he's going through a (sexual) dry spell ...

This is the story of his life. I think he keeps in touch with his exes in a "preventive" light, for when he doesn't have any options. Sadly, I highly doubt any of them is receptive. He's just selfish.

I fell into this trap of his once. That was enough for me. I know can read through this sort of BS instantly.

Pisces woman are cool. Pisces men, not so much.

I adore(d) him actually. I still think of him daily to this day. He's the only man I had true and genuine affection for. I just don't like his sneaky ways. I find this sort of behavior irritating.

He doesn't have any Scorpio placements. Maybe he's a Scorpio rising (if that's possible).

There was another Pisces I was friends with before him and he was so sweet and caring. Hard to believe they're the same sign. They're polar opposites.
