Honestly, when I post/comment, I edit an average of 2 times for each line. Ka-razy! I can't tell if it is my Mars in Gem, Mercury conjunct Jupiter, or Taurus Moon that is either too lazy to proof read or doesn't like the aesthetics of the message board and wants to get out and up as soon as possible...I really can't think in that pink room with the little white box to type in. I need more space. Then when I'm "out and up" I'm like, 'whaaaat'? Going back 2,6,10 times to edit, depending on the length of my post/comment, and some are quite lengthy... How many times do you edit, if at all. What do you think contributes to your editing or non-editing style? Edited: 4 times IP: Logged |

I'm almost always on my phone or tablet when posting here, and its hard to get the entire white box on the screen at once, so I edit a good bit. Plus spell check loves to have its little surprised here and there...When posting something complex, like the "Love Songs by Sign" thread I did, it was a constant edit thing. Oh, and when I press "edit", 4 times out of 5 I get "quote" instead. I have to watch what I get or I wind up editing the quote and double posting. Gemini sun and Merc... Somewhat hasty but also too many side tracks to take... especially with the Uranus square to Merc... But the Uranus Saturn opposition keeps it to a tolerable number... 1 edits so far... IP: Logged |

A LOT.Depending upon how long my post is of course... If it's long (a "few" paragraphs), an average of 7 times. If short (a paragraph or less), an average of 3 times. I don't know why I tend to do that so much. You would think it could be my Virgo energy (Virgo Sun/Chart Ruler in Virgo) trying to perfect it, but if it is, then why would I not makes sure I didn't make a mistake by critically re-reading it over? Perhaps it's my Gemini energy (Gemini Moon) wanting to quickly post it to share with people? I think it could also be my Libra Mercury in the 3rd House because I want it to look nice, while also make sense and be grammatically correct. Therefore, a combination of all three of those energies producing the outcome of what I do. It's also not always because of grammatical mistakes. A lot of the times is because I want to add something, take it away, or change the way I said it (not grammar, but rather the way I present it). I would think it would have to do with your Gemini Mars pressuring you to quickly post. Your Mercury/Jupiter conjunction probably makes you prone to creating lengthy posts, thus creating a higher chance of more mistakes. IP: Logged |

EDIT: Quite a bit! I blame my Gemini moon but maybe also Virgo Mercury. I have conversations with myself and often times rehearse conversations that I know that I need to have with someone to try to get it out the way that I want to, the first time. IP: Logged |

I don't ever. Unless I find I've written a word wrong and the meaning of the sentence is corrupted - but that has happened to me maybe twice, so roughly in 2 percent of cases I think before I write and I stand behind it.. besides, it is a reflection of the moment, that way it has beauty in it's own right. And I don't find it that important, it's just a short text read by couple of strangers who don't know my name, it's quite trivial really, if you think about it Virgo Mercury sextile Pluto trine Saturn & Neptune square Mars IP: Logged |

3 times tops.I usually write what comes to my mind at that moment and post it. Then I go back to the post a second time to edit in case I forgot something or if the grammar was quite poor. Then a 3rd time if I need to add an important thought I had initially forgot. It depends on the length/content of the post though. EDIT: I've edited this post once already! I'm a Gemini Moon/Scorpio Mercury. I like things to be "neat" and organized but I tend to have a million thoughts all at once. I sometimes forget what I want to say because there is so much! Lol, I post from my phone, my comments are so jacked up and messed up because of auto correct and not being able to see my entire post all at once... I edit and re-edit and still see typos and such. Eventually, i give up. It hurts to much, lol! I'm a virgo moon with gemini Mars, mercury perfectionism is in my psyche! When I was on a comp, it was easier I edited maybe 1-3 times. IP: Logged |

Quite a bit actually, but that's in part because LL does not have a draft option. For some reason I miss a lot of mistakes while in typing mode (it's especially frustrating when I see it in posted form so I click on edit only to have it become invisible to me again!). The format at LL is terrible for that. I did used to use OO instead but then some upgrade made it incompatible with posting on LL. I've heard of a trick to use since then but I haven't tried it yet. What was also frustrating is that when I figured I'd need to do some editing (since there was no Draft function) I'd even put in all caps to not read or reply until I was done editing...but people ignored that request which was very rude, IMO, though it was probably a self-control issue and/or one of paranoia ("see what was written about me before it vanishes" which is backed by some expressing fears to that effect when I deleted a post of mine even when there was no rational reason to think so) so I eventually gave it up. ETA 2: Even now I try to wait until a post has been up a few minutes before reading (or at least replying) to it. Generally speaking my edits are only a polish to correct a word (an annoyance I have with myself is for some mysterious reason I'll type in the wrong word--like "dear" instead of "dead"--though I've noticed I've done that more recently and may have something to do with Merc RX) or an attempt to be clearer, or possibly to shorten it (realizing my Libra pondering is going to be too much for some as well as make it harder to follow). Or to use a different word in hopes not to be misunderstood (that gets annoying, too, I once chose a word that technically worked but feared it being misconstrued as an attack--despite that the context said it was not--so I looked it up in the dictionary to see the first definition given was used in the bad sense and figured LL is a hypersensitive Scorpio enough as it is so I replaced it within 5 minutes with another word that meant the same thing but less likely to be taken as an insult and someone lying about "not trying to start drama" had to point out the word I'd used before in her blatant attempt to start drama, and she'd obviously understood the word in the negative sense which was what I was trying to avoid). If I make a major edit after say about 10 minutes I'll usually leave a note to the effect. I recall once that I did edit a harsh post of mine after I calmed down a couple of hours later (when I realized that my button had been pushed and I shouldn't have gotten annoyed) and didn't leave a note hoping the person I'd spoken more harshly to than deserved didn't know about it (but of course after I toned it down someone had to make sure she knew it had been harsher, such pleasant people we have here, but I try to keep in mind that LL is Scorpio--that is this message board was "born" in that sign and that probably affects the dynamics here, and given the popularity of this board it's actually a lot more pleasant than many others with as many people and I try to keep that in mind as well). EDITS SO FAR: 3 (3rd to mark ETA 1 as "1" and also fix a parenthesis mistake.) ETA 1 (less than a minute later): I have a packed 3H which may also account for it. IP: Logged |

Considering my 10th Mercury conjunct saturn, I dont really care for edits that much.I type on my phone and I expect an astrology board to be more mature than nitpicking my typos When it comes to other things, I'm also on the mid range of editing. I notice virgo Asc, cap moon, Mercury retrograde and Mercury saturn square people are really into editing. IP: Logged |

I really enjoyed reading about how you all post/comment/edit/not.For those of you on your phones, Gabby and Gemini Blues, I truly feel for you. I may post a line or two from my phone, but I can't do more. That whole 'hit quote when you want to hit edit' thing? Happens to me all the time. Gemini Blues, I have Mercury sq. Uranus too. Do you think it causes distraction? oh, and do you think you could bump up your Love Songs by Sign thread? Mercurian Intellect, I think you're right about Gemini pushing me/you to post quickly. I do feel so eager to share. And I think you're right about my conjunction between Mercury and Jupiter. When I get going, I can really go. Oh, and my Mercury in the 1st is sextile Pluto in my Libra 3rd house... DeepFreeze, I too have conversations with myself about conversations, but my conversations happen after the real conversation has already taken place...when it comes to verbal communication I can't make myself plan and prepare. I have to let my gut lead...and man do I have a language of my own, but people usually follow me...I force them to. I corner them with my intensity. Now Selenite, Belba, theunknown, and even MineAgain and Odette. I am fascinated by your ability to let go and not worry about it too much. Belba you're like James Dean to my editing nature. StarlightSmileSupreme and PixieJane you were just funny. I'm not sure if I was supposed to find what you were writing funny, PixieJane, but secretly (not so secretly now) I was laughing... edited: 2 times IP: Logged |

Sometimes I write something, delete it, write another, delete it. Then decide that I shouldn't contribute at all.I cringe at my spelling errors and often kick myself for sentences that have a letter missing or terrible punctuation. Virgo and Saturn is what all that is about so let's see shall we; Mercury in Cap Mercury rules the 6th Mercury in 9th arcing to conjunct the 10th Mercury sextile Saturn IP: Logged |

Virgo and Saturn Aries? Ok, so for me, Saturn is in Virgo. The idea that you would NOT post, or that at some point you started to post and then didn't...I just find that to be a crime. I used to be a grammar whiz. Now I make up my own grammar. Part of the reason is I can't remember what I did in 6th grade, and part of the reason is I want it to sound like I'm talking, so I'll chose between ; - , () to get my point across. Who cares. Never not post Aries. IP: Logged |

I know...I know. You're right. But I 'll re-read my essay response to a post. Not really certain that I got the "crux" of the message out there. Then I'll think "What the hell am I saying really?" lol. I was being matter of fact, but laughing is fine, and I like how some people can say my writing (be it fiction or sharing ideas) makes them feel excited, amazed, even awed, but makes them laugh at the same time (which I've been told by several persons). I laugh easily a lot myself. I think it's true that "Life is a comedy to those who think and a tragedy to those who feel" but that's probably all the 5H Sag in my chart. Increasingly, on this site. 4/5 times even though I know I leave many errors in. On other sites maybe twice. The problem is that I'm very lazy. It's something else too because in the past I've ignored errors I see and I've even chosen to make an error in grammar and punctuation during writing. Bit like belba (curiously I share those planet combinations) it's thinking this medium is not that important and almost being political about it. I love language so much that I try save it up almost. And I like to get stuck in ideas without thinking about form even though form can convey ideas better. The effect is a bit awkward probably and jarring. Trying to change because it's like deliberately undermining myself and lately I feel self-conscious which is why I edit now when I didn't used to - fix the carelessness after, not before so much. because I start off so careless it's like doing a quick tidy around the house before someone arrives so still pretty bad. Think mercury opp Pluto is related because it's like mumbling in speech, hiding in communication Merc opp Pluto Merc trine Neptune, Saturn, mars Merc inconjunct uranus

A LOT! I use my phone and the darn auto-correct likes to add words or change words. Not to mention that I tend to mix the wording in sentences when I shouldn't have, it's like I'm slightly dyslexic but in a different form. So to make it make sense I edit. I'll blame my Moon conjunct Mercury. I have brain farts in the middle of talking all of the time. I'm a VERY hyper person so I talk fast, I move fast in general and lose track of what I want to say because it's like a race to the finish in my head. IP: Logged |

Ah, I love this thread! The number of edits usually depends on the length of the message, but I edit my posts all the time. It takes me forever to put a message together, too, because it has to look/feel right for me to be happy with what I've written. I'm not sure what planetary aspects would make me slow, yet perfectionistic, but I imagine that natal Mercury in retrograde conjunct Venus has something to do with it.
