Lmaoooo. Proofreading is serious business. Nice to meet you too! The way I see it is that I can either edit a lot before submitting the post or do the work later. That is Cap for you, always having to do it the right way and be worried about doing it the right way lol.

O.M.G. I was like, such a loser in 2015. So glad it's 2016. I had a breakthrough, or I might be repeating myself and I just don't remember, but part of the reason I don't post on LL as much is because I edit all ******* day long. If no one quotes me ill edit for days. I restructure sentences, use better vocabulary, replace semicolons with colons... I just figured out (I like to take my time) that it's because of my Moon/Mercury square! My emotions block clarity, and so it takes going through a process of writing and rewriting in order to make sense, or communicate what I really want to communicate. bump 1 edit IP: Logged |

I have Mars in Gemini and I can (depending on what it is) edit literally up to 10 or 15 times or more lol. I always think of better ways to express whatever it is that I'm trying to say. It is no different than painting and needing the right colors to accurately create the image you envision. If the sky in my head is a specific blue I NEED that blue and no other one. The "colors" in this case would be the words chosen and I fanatically ruminate on the etymology and definition of the words I've chosen making sure it is what I want. Then I look at how a word's impact is heightened or lowered based on the words I placed before or after it. Then I have to make sure spelling, punctuation, etc. is correct (that takes about 3 edits). It's wild. The crazy thing is I am usually (not always) too impatient to just do all of this before posting. I tend to post stuff and then go back and forth editing (hoping nobody has seen it until I'm done lol). Once I'm satisfied I vainly re-read my own posts a bunch of times edited 1 time lol IP: Logged |

Funny... Well, I also have Mars in Gemini and Mercury conjunct Jupiter... and I'm the same. So I guess it is more about those two.

I used to edit all my posts to sound smarter but now I just post whatever and I almost never edit themI think it has to do with your comfort level with posting When I was still new to it (my first 1,000 posts I guess) it was a scary thing lol I think it's also your attitude Like my world view changed so that went along with it... I used to be very secretive and now I'm an open book so I don't care so much as to what I share IP: Logged |

I almost edited my post just now to add another point But I'm trying to reinforce the idea that I am unique in my decision to barely edit ever , so I will say what I need to say in a seperate post (this one) ----- I'm not sure what aspect editing provides BUT I would guess the placements that have to do wit overthinkingA highly mercurial or Uranian dominant I personally think my Aries SN might have a say Or maybe the fact I don't give as much care as I probably should as to what people think of me IP: Logged |

Lately it seems, way more than usual. Mercury RX. A few days ago I read something and it was like google had been in my head making my sentences up for me. It was so bad I had to start over from scratch. My own Mercury has been in rx in progression for past 21 years and just turned SD. I know I am often misunderstood. Editing for me is a conscious effort to be clear, an often futile effort it seems. At the end of April> Mercury,Mars,Jupiter and Saturn will all be rx. Uranus will be exactly opposite to my Mercury. oh what fun ------------------ LeekingChee IP: Logged |

Peluches... omg, that's so cute! I KNOW what you're talking about. P.J. That was excellent! I know that we have ironed out some things in posts long time ago.... And I don't hold any hard feelings whatsoever. In fact, you endeared yourself to me. (And sometimes I feel like you hate me for that?.. But ~gosh, can't help it! Faith! LOL Don't you DARE delete your posts BEFORE I get to read it, dammit!! LMAO In my VERY FIRST months of LL, I used to just throw up phrases on the screen, then POST it, then EDIT. .... Well omg, I think Juni had caught some of my 'throw phrases' and she got soooo ticked with me! I did a LOT of backpedalling in those days. I used to post on a site that had a Draft feature. I was used to that. Sometimes you can't SEE what you just said, until it's been formatted correctly. omg, still laughing at Peluches post.... The smiley BEFORE or ~AFTER the exclamation point! *roll* ... Hell, I have a Virgo Moon, with Gem Sun and Mercury! o.m.g. ... EDIT is my Friend, and Auto-correct IS a ***** , MOST times. I mean, like, auto-correct needs to READ my posts! I've had auto-correct even CHANGE my post AFTER it was posted and "settled"!!???? It's a really good thing for us to be Understanding of each other. I had no idea you guys edited that often! I TRY to go for AS-is. I only 'allow' myself ONE edit... (sometimes two IF it's really critical). If things are just impossibly distractive in my environment, and I don't want to lose what I wrote, I usually type *proof-reading* at the bottom of the page. Otherwise, I just GO AHEAD and leave it. I'm the kind that can edit sooooo much, that the 'voice' changes too much. That's why I try to 'practice' just typing what comes in my head and keep going with a flow. When I do that, the copy reads with MUCH more flow, and less halting. Then there ARE those times where I was just about asleep when 'suddenly' it hits me that the way I 'worded' something would/COULD be taken the wrong way..... And I'll get out of bed, get on the computer, and see it!! ohhhh nooooooooo Then, add that 'word' that can refine the whole statement TO 'what I meant' it to say.
Mercury retrogrades.... We have to take extra care to make sure it reads correctly not just in our head, but imagining someone else's p.o.v. (no edits... so far) What is ETA? P.J. IP: Logged |

I edit depending on my post. To be honest, I usually edit everything at least once. It's probably my Gemini Moon that's to blame for this. If I find something that seems off about my post, I will edit it and if I deem it necessary I might point out that I edited my post in the first place. Why do I edit my post? Typos, bad phrasing, thinking I was just rude, etc. It often has to do with the phrasing of my sentences though. The other thing is I try to be appropriate at all times and if I think I'm being inappropriate that tends to result in me editing my post. It doesn't matter if I'm really being inappropriate or not. What I perceive often influences how often I edit my posts. Most posts get edited once, but occasionally I edit up to 5 times. Another factor may be my Mercury placement. According to Whole Sign houses, it's in 6th house. Something about the way I work gives off a slight Virgo-ish vibe (I think? Maybe I'm wrong?). Sometimes I can be critical in my communication or even a perfectionist. This is often seen in how I try to use good grammar, good spelling, and good phrasing. It's also seen by how I interact with strangers. Usually I'm polite and considerate of others. I admit I'm not perfect, but if I'm satisfied that's when I leave the post alone. Also, I'm picky. With everything. I work hard to communicate my point and I don't want to be interpreted incorrectly. How I phrase things is of the utmost importance to me. Of course, that's when my blunt Mercury in Aries nature steps in. I'm honest to a fault and hold nothing back. Again, I try to be considerate, but if my opinion is required, I offer it without restraint. It's possible that Neptune Retrograde in 3rd could also play a role. That is, if I know myself right and I'm not looking at Whole Sign houses when I secretly relate more to Placidus. I honestly can't tell which one I relate to more. So, yea, I edit quite a few times. Edit 1: I'm not sure I know that much about astrology. The placements mentioned in this post are guesses, not the rule. And I'm not sure I know what I'm talking about. I am still trying to figure out if I identify more with Whole Sign or more with Placidus. I think I might need to use both house systems even though a lot of people would advise that I use just one. I feel like I barely see/know what Ive typed until Ive submitted and then read it, myself. That, and I'll be so impatient to hastily re-submit the moment I make a correction/addition, before checking for any others (of which there'll be a ton). And Im TERRIBLE at typing, probably because I think I can type way, way faster than I actually can. I'd lose count if I had to keep track, honestly. No patience at all. It has to look right. There is a difference between how it appears in the composition box versus the post box. I don't know why the change of format translates to a change of mind, for me, even about the content I posted, but it often does. It's as if I'm looking at a post someone else made. So I'm more objective, because I tend to pick up on the energy of others' posts better than I can sense the energy I am putting out. But reading that first published view is a good mirror. Looking at my post objectively, I often revise to eliminate or refine the emotional static that I picked up on. But, in revising, I often just introduce new static. It's a matter of being unrefined and awkward, fundamentally, and striving in vain to correct that through articulation. And as for what in my post is causing it...my chart is loaded with t-squares.
