Aries IC, here.My childhood home was hectic, dangerous and involved quite a bit of fighting. I was expected to be an adult at the age of 5. There was no time for childish nonsense. Life was about survival. I did have some happy memories, though. IP: Logged |

Scorpio on IC - Spot on. Also, father was a police officer. IP: Logged |

...I knew there was one more thread I wanted to comment on before getting to work...I've got Scorpio IC. Ami, Your description really sounds like the house I grew up in. My parents separated when I was young. My father wanted a second wife (legal/accepted in our religion/culture). My mom freaked and ran away, but she stayed DEDICATED to my dad even though she acted like she hated him. They got back together when I was 29. My antics may have had something to do with it. Maybe he was worried about me (better late than never I guess...). Anyway, I have always suspected my mom was an undercover freak, and now that she's back with my dad, yeah, she is. I endearingly call her a hooker. She cracks up so hard she can't breathe so you know it's true. My mom's Asc is Scorpio, and her Sun is 8th house Cancer. But Scorpio IC really describes the kind of home I'm running too, Aries23Degrees' description is more accurate for my home. I've got the deep passions, but there's no action taking place in my home. After my first marriage, no other man will live in this house because of the children. I'm mother goose, and a violent one at that. If you've ever been to a farm and run into a goose, you know what I'm talking about- worse than dogs. Very territorial. You had better not come over with out calling. I will look out my window and watch you knock on my front door, and then throw my hands up in the air, in mock confusion, like 'I don't know' IP: Logged |

At the same time, I know that that is me, and my children aren't the same. I encourage them to get out and interact with the community and they do. IP: Logged |

But that was due to my mom being busy working hard to keep is fed and roof over our head. I just didn't have pressures. If I didn't want to go to school... I just didn't go. That sort of thing.
My bf's home was like this. He literally lived a block from his hs and skipped a lot of days. Im surprised he even graduated There was affection and the parents weren't strict. They allowed parties and such because it was a safe place for he and his brothers friends. (Moon in 4th). As for me, Leo. I remember parties being thrown for a few years. I had moved to the states and started school and felt like I always had the attention on me because my family life was find of dramatic and weird. Ugh I was shy and hated all the attention. Virgo also makes sense. Some of it falls in my IC. I was really insecure and rebellious surrounding family issues.

Can the sign of your IC dictate what house overlays in synastry feel the most comfortable to you? My IC is in Scorpio and I really like when I have 4th house overlays with people. It makes me feel really comfortable I can open up to them about how I feel. I think those are really the only people I can actually connect with. Which is something that is hard for me to do. Ime, yes, quite often ChildofVenus. I have Scorpio IC with Uranus, the modern ruler of my Descendant and Venus Signs in Scorpio in the 4th (towards the latter part). I have had some intense emotional and spiritual connections with some folks that particularly had Sun, Moon, and/or Venus in the latter part of Scorpio. Some of it is the IC, and some of it is Uranus being one of the rulers of both the Descendant and Venus Signs though. I recently deeply and quickly fell in love with a woman whose Moon was in latter Scorpio in my 4th and conjunct my Uranus. I'm still pining for her even after she ripped my heart out and stomped on it (not in an intentionally cruel way so much as in a matter of fact and practical way more so). But there was a lot more going on in the synastry than just this. As far as home life goes, my home life was very extreme on many levels, especially emotionally, and there was an intense, stark contrast between the higher and lower. My Mother was an uber empath, old, very loving Soul and personality (a close friend and my fist spiritual teacher), and my step father is a psychopath. There was also a fair amount of moving which was difficult to this quiet, shy introvert. Mars is in Virgo, conjunct Jupiter, closely trine Sun (chart ruler), and square Neptune. Pluto is in Libra, almost exactly trine Venus (ruler of Moon, MC, and 3rd), square Sun, and sextile Ascendant and Neptune. I pay a bit more attention to the faster moving, traditional ruler of a House cusp since it's so much more personal to the individual. IP: Logged |

Aquarius on the IC. No, my home wasn't a cold one to grow up in. Certain people who appeared and stayed for a while, like transits, made it that way, but our core family was a good one. At least when I was growing up.IP: Logged |

The IC is very important. Asteroids add to the info. Also aspects to any planet in the 4th house tells the story of the childhood. I am glad you are enjoying these articles. Sag ICMy family didn't move around a lot, at least not what I considered a lot, but more than most people. Same for travel, we travelled more than the average American. My father travelled internationally incessantly for work to the point where it was uncomfortable when he was home. There are many reasons for the discomfort. As he was well travelled we were encouraged to travel, learn about other cultures, be tolerant of others and there was always something "foreign" in the home.My dad has Mars in Gemini/Mercury as his Sun's ruler on my MC. Similar to a previous poster my mom has a Sag Sun. She is not culturally fluent or well traveled, but she's artistic and very religious. I have Venus/Uranus in my 4th. I am nomadic and don't feel comfortable in one place for too long. In 10 years, I've moved 11 times. If I can't travel physically, I must let my mind and spirit travel or I will shrivel up and die. Not being dramatic. Adventures, travelling and learning are my air. I think this is exacerbated by my Venus/Uranus conjunction, Aqua NN and all the Sag planets in my draco chart. My progressed Sun is also in Sag. IP: Logged |

When you start looking at asteroids on the IC, boy does the chart open up to you For example, if you have the asteroid of abuse conj the IC, you had a really hard childhood. ------------------ Want to Read Simple, Fun,Sexy Articles on Astrology? Capricorn IC, with Neptune conjunct. My dad lended my childhood a Capricorn vibe (of competency, hard work, discipline, utilitarianism, conventionality, reliability) and my mum contributed everything Neptunian (compassion, idealism, imagination, inspiration, music, spirituality, confusion, insanity). My childhood was an interesting and rather fantastic mix of both these influences. There was the safety of my level-headed dad, but also wild and crazy adventures courtesy of my mum. I know how to handle the real world, because my father taught me by example, but I share my mother's compassionate ideals and love for art and music. As for asteroids on the IC... within 2 degrees of my IC I have Compassion, Charito, Memoria, Nike and Diana among others. IP: Logged |

Leo IC but the description of Virgo would make more sense for me. But then again, my IC is 28 degrees Leo...so maybe a lot of Virgo energy noticable?------------------ Mercury conjunct Neptune: Can I take a message? IP: Logged |
