My favorite artist is N.C. Wyeth.

I had to create his chart manually since it's not available at astrotheme. Not surprised that he has Jupiter in Cancer! And most likely, a Pisces moon.

I do like those too, Faith.
I like old things or that look old. Eyes, black and white pictures. Abstract (with patterns)
M.C. Escher's stuff.

Wonder if this is why I almost taste colour and just looking at some make me feel full with it.

I looked up a few other artists I like and scorpio, libra, Pisces, Gemini and sag seemed very active. Also 8th house and a couple of 12th houses. Could be personal choice though.

@DF to going back in time.

@florence

Jupiter Cancer people...are not afraid of YELLOW, that's one thing.

About tasting color...you have synaesthesia? Did you know Kandinsky was aiming to trigger synaesthesia in his paintings...that he wanted you to be able to literally hear them? Looks like he had a moon-Neptune, Mercury, Mars grand trine. Jupiter in Aquarius!

^^ Ya hear that??

So strange .. I was thinking yesterday how I chose yellow for my childhood bedroom and what planet yellow was.

Its not exactly tasting, it's more like hungering. If I see colours I like I feel like I'm about to eat an amazing meal And if I see an arrangement of colours that I love I feel like I've eaten too. It's a bit like being in love ... Sated and yearning. But I feel it as a physical thing with colour. It's probably some taurus thing that I have to recourse to that sense. So not synaesthesia but some visual trigger to taste sense even without actual taste.

Yes, hear it a bit. I've drawn sounds before & music. It's a fun and mind bending exercise. His Jupiter makes sense there.

Great thread / question.

I am an artist with a strong 12 house in Leo. North Node, mars both at the anoretic degrees of leo conjunct my ascendant in virgo, where Jupiter sits at 0 degrees virgo, but still in 12th house.

photography is my true love, although i have also been schooled in painting. i have a nasty t square with neptune (4th sag) opposite venus (10th gem) squaring saturn (1st virgo) which I blame for my choosing a fashion job helping others achieve their dreams, not my own- mostly due to family obligations. its always a struggle being a creative but having to pay the bills.

Now as i am being hit with saturn transit , I am realizing where i went wrong and am now finally ready to be ME and put myself and creativity first. perhaps because the 12th house I struggled to express myself openly.

I think Art is a 12 house matter. They say the 5th is creative expression, but perhaps the 12th is where we let our inspiration grow.

But that said, art reaches far and wide!
I love forensic facial reconstruction for example. It's fascinating to me.
It's kind of a mix of science, art, and forensics. Awesome.

My dad he facial reconstructive surgery it IS a form of art. No doubt about that. My father had his whole fa've smashed by a spring he didn't look human he just had a round swollen face with puffy bruised eyes swollen mouth and his nose was non-existent... The doctor who preformed my fathers surgery said: "it was like putting a bowl of corn flakes back together." he managed to preform the impossible. My dad doesn't look the exsac t same as before but that would of been impossible because of the accident. I am amazed at what that surgeon did. Unbelievable.
Definitely an art form.

Wow!!

Glad that there are amazing surgeons out there and also that your dad made it through that.
Was it a suspension spring from a vehicle? I've heard stories of those getting away from people when working on them.

12th house is a weird house It's behind the scene(Ascendant), but it's also in the upper part of chart. I agree, that the best what we can do with 12th planets is to used them in humanitarian/artistic way. It's easier to get psycho with planets in water houses.
