Leo ASC here.

Interesting enough I was talked into doing an experiment where I started the day off with some positive affirmations (among other things) even though I felt a bit silly doing it and it was an interesting day...not sure if it was because I was paying more attention (and thus more actively shaping the kind of day I had) or what. I should try that experiment again.

My 12H is Cancer, which may (or not) account for why family and places I've lived make up so much of my dreams (but then so does international and interstellar and even weirder travels, which may have to do with my Sag stellium which includes moon and Mars).

I sleep best in my own beds (that includes the ones I slept in as a child) but I'm generally fine anywhere...though come to think of it when I travel I do like to carry a sleeping bag and may even choose that over (or in addition to) a strange bed which could count as "my bed." I tend to move a lot in my sleep (and can be a kicker, just one reason I sometimes sleep by myself and have a spare futon for that) but given how much mental and physical energy I tend to have I suppose that makes sense. (I'm just glad I'm not a sleepwalker anymore as I was as a kid, that was sometimes a disturbing experience.)

To my horror I also talk in my sleep, though usually it's just word salad.

Love is the only thing that motivates me to get up anymore. Or do anything for that matter. I have to feel the love and soul in the world to get out of bed.

Also, i remember my dreams with ridiculous detail and if I don't write them down or take time to understand them, they can affect my mood for a while. Sometimes i need up to an hour to just lay there and remember every little thing and it's like therapy.

Very interesting post. I have a
Scorpio asc and for me waking up is different depending on my responsibilities. Once i'm up I'll stay up. I can sleep through anything.. loud music, screaming, tv, dishes even smoke alarms lol but I cant sleep through bed shaking and rumbly machinery lol.
To get to bed can be hard if I don't keep busy during the day but once I have a routine i'll usually stick to it. Interesting posts to read its a neat idea worth looking into.

http://astroarena12.blogspot.com/2014/12/start-your-day-with-your-rising.html

Anyways, I have Capricorn Rising and I tend to wake up at almost the exact same time every day and I never even set an alarm. I often can tell myself to wake up at a certain time and I end up doing just that! As soon as I'm up, I'm up and can't really go back to sleep. And then I start thinking about all of the things I need to do. There is always something really structured about my mornings. I feel the best when I get a lot of things done in the morning. I also don't feel as energized sleeping past the single digits. Waking up at 10 almost ruins my morning. I'm generally functional in the morning and easy to deal with, as long as my plans aren't being messed up.

Now, I never thought about the 12th House influencing our bedtime/late night ways. But, it makes total sense!

At night, just about anything goes for me. Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune are in my 12th. I think Saturn tries to lay down some structure. I'm always thinking about what I have to do the next day and planning it in my head (which is probably why I fall into such a disciplined rhythm in the morning). I often say to myself, "I should go to sleep at so-and-so time." But, Uranus rebels against any structure at night. I can never keep a nightly routine. I can go for a little while, quietly having tea and reading before getting to bed at 10:30. Then, I can get in the habit of staying up, dancing to music by myself in my room, at 1 in the morning! So, late night is always unpredictable for me. Neptune's influence, I think, is that I love listening to music before I go to bed. Movies and shows are somehow the best when watched at midnight. And I also think it's responsible for my super-deep sleep (also sextiles my Scorpio Moon). It's like a coma, most of the time, though not nearly as heavy as when I was a kid/teenager. But, still, the only things that wake me up, besides my own body, are alarm clocks and persistent shaking/yelling.

WaiTing for a cap riser to answer. I am cap asc as well. Same, I wake up quite early at the same time. However when I work, I need an alarm because I just Don't naturally wake up at 245, ha.

I also need dark, ear plugs, and some white noise

Gemini Rising with Mercury and Saturn in the 12th house.

My natural body clock is set to wake at 10, be more active in the afternoon and early evening, start to wind down around 1030 at night and finally go to bed at 1 AM. Now this is the ideal for me but since I have kids, my reality is different.

Usually, I'm awake around 630 and bedtime is around 1030 at night and on weekends, sometimes at midnight. If I am home in the morning, I nap on the couch for a few hours. Weekends, I like to sleep in at times. I'm a light sleeper. I will sometimes get bouts of insomnia where I wake up around 230 and I'm wide awake for two hours till my body gets achy and I finally fall back to sleep.

My children know not to wake me cause I turn into a fire breathing dragon and they are very intelligent enough to wake up Daddy instead.

There was a time for a few years, my adjusted to having kids clock would be up early and by 9:00, 930 I'd be in bed sleeping and that is going away.

Gemini ASC 12th house in Taurus Merc and Gem Venus. I have a hard time sleeping on time. I think a lot. The only time it's easy for me to sleep is if I've been tired all day or listen to music or move my leg back and forth against my bedsheet. But at times that doesn't work. Has anyone ever stayed up so late that they can't sleep at all even when they're tired?

When I sleep I sleep for a long time. I need 9 hours to function. Anything less than that I get cranky. Wake me up in the middle of the night I get real grumpy and whine, "Leave me alone!" But give me a bit and I'll adapt and revert back to normal. Sometimes it takes me a long time to get out of bed because I like to lay there and think until my mind gets rid of the grogginess. Unless I have to get somewhere in the morning I get up right away. It literally takes me 5 minutes to get ready because I'm too lazy to wear makeup and I like to dress simple.

When I go to bed, I have to have dark and quiet..no TV or radio or computers on. Quiet is the most important. I also toss and turn a lot before getting comfortable and I need a lot of room to feel good when falling asleep...aka I like to sprawl all over the bed.

Not sure how that relates to my Libra 12th house, though....interested in hearing some others' opinions on this.

I feel EXACTLY the same as you described, and I have none of your placements.
So, I guess the 1st and 12th is not realyl related to the sleep pattern

I thought I would sleep through the night tonight - especially since it's raining outside - but I woke up with a pounding heart and that feeling of a bowling ball in my chest, which is just usual for me now. So I had to get up. I might get in the shower, and then try again.

If I have work, I'll set two alarms. ;D

And I need an hour before I do anything besides

COFFEE and reading whatever interests me atm.

After that, I'm fine and kind start to look forward

to the day.

I won't go to bed till my eyes are heavy because

I despise tossing and turning, which inevitably

leads to too much thinking and being wide awake.

I need QUIET, though I love some kind of white noise,

like the AC running right when I go to bed.

No tv or music, though.. drives me crazy.

Taurus rising, Pisces on cusp of 12th.

I've needed the TV to fall asleep. Otherwise my mind races.
