Some correlations that come to mind are transits of Saturn, Uranus, or Pluto to the Sun, transiting the 4H or 10H, or aspecting their rulers. Here's the transits that occurred at the time of my father's death: Transiting Uranus in Scorpio, sign on the 4H cusp (could have been conjunct the IC, if birth time is off). Transiting Saturn conjunct Venus, ruler of the 10H. Transiting Pluto square Uranus-Moon.

The indicators might be surrounding the change in the dynamics in the home(4th/10th) or at-least a square aspect to them.If the death is sudden and unexpected, then Mars/Uranus would be making aspects to the 4th/10th house angle axis or conjunct one. If the death was long coming and somewhat "expected". Then I would say that the other planets aspecting the 4th/10th house axis angle or at-least making square aspects to them would suffice. My sister was born the same year that I had my car accident. That year Neptune and Uranus were conjunct with a 2 degree orb in Capricorn. The transits were opposing my IC and conjunct my MC. So during that time there were a lot of changes in the home front/ careers of my parents(I was under 12). I think my accident affected the home front as well as the subsequent birth of my little sister(IC). Pluto will cross my sensitive angles and conjunct MC sometime in the coming years. i am really nervous to what it'll all mean. Pluto often signifies a significant death or some drastic irreversible event So darn fatalistic really IP: Logged |

My father passed away towards the end of Saturn going through the 12th house. In fact t Saturn was pretty much at the Asc. which would also square my IC and MC. I'm a Scorpio Asc and my Sun is in my 8th house if that helps. My father's passing was very much unexpected. Since Saturn goes through my ASC just before my Saturn Return, my father's passing away was another big step towards real, legitimate adulthood. My cousin also lost her father relatively recently, although his death was more expected. While he was sick t Saturn went over her Sun and when he passed away t Saturn was on her DSC. Btw, I actually had an astrologer take a look at my transit for the year, to see if they could foresee any health difficulties for my parents, and she didn't find anything. IP: Logged |

Perhaps it makes a difference because he was my stepfather, even though he raised me?
Since he raised you, I think it had to show up somewhere. What about solar arcs or secondary progressions? IP: Logged |

I'm afraid I don't understand solar arcs at present, how frustrating. I am still mastering my natal, but thank you for the pointer! IP: Logged |

Well, I guess I wanted to know what the indications were, and then look for them. Apologies, but I don't understand the question about whether there are transits to his sun sign in my chart? IP: Logged |

Someone mentioned transits along the 4th/10th axis. I was thinking pMoon on either the Solar 4th or 10th. In your case - it was the 10th. You are nSun in Aquarius, he passed with pMoon in your Solar 10th (Scorpio)**. It's also true that big events are marked with pMoon in tense (conj, sq, opp) aspect to either natal or pSun.
**This is just a coincidence, I've seen the father passing with pMoon also in the s10th. Of course tMoon on these points aren't always a guarantee of a father's passing.

Hi I meant what was your stepfathers sunsign and where is that in your chart and was there any transits there? I find the nodes significant too, was there a nodal alignment? Its very unique to you so from my point of view the visual may bring more accurate guesses.

My dad died when my 8th house Mars in Capricorn was heavily aspected transit wise. My mars squares Sun and Uranus - 4th house and 10th house rulers. Uranus is also North Node ruler too.IP: Logged |
