Two people I know who sing/rap:Person 1 (singer):
- Gemini MC
- MC ruler (Mercury) in Libra in 2nd house
- MC ruler (Mercury) square Jupiter in 11th (communication directed towards an audience)
- MC ruler square Saturn, Uranus, Neptune in 5th (creative self expression) Person 2 (raper):
- Gemini MC
- MC ruler (Mercury) in Cancer conjunct Venus in 11th (his raping is deep and touches very sensitive and emotional subjects in nature. He's a triple Cancerian after all)
And... Myself (shhhh don't tell anyone  ):
- Taurus MC
- MC ruler (Venus) in Libra in 3rd
- MC ruler (Venus) square Uranus, Neptune
So I guess it ties in with Venusian placements somehow.

I think the 2nd house could have to do with it as well, since it's a Taurus house, and therefore representing the throat/voice. Person 1:
- 2nd house in Libra

- 2nd house in Libra
- 2nd house ruler (Venus) conjunct Mercury (ASC ruler) in 11th Me:

I have more "singing evidence"!!!**Note: I use whole-sign houses and look at traditional planetary rulers as well as the modern ones. Only judging the MC and 2nd house: MJ:

I have noticed that most of my friends or people I know with Cap moon have a knack for singing. Of course Venusian influence on the chart should make the voice pleasing to listen.IP: Logged |

MC trine VenusI had people tell me I should sing in places but it's easy to impress someone who can hardly stay in tune so that doesn't matter much. I think I sing well as long as the song is within my capabilities. My vocal range is small, my voice isn't too strong and my timbre is nothing special which is a shame because I have a good ear for music and I know I'd rock if I had a better voice.
 Perhaps my silly childhood dream of singing for others isn't lost though. But first I'd have to start producing music.

My mother has mercury conjunct venus and she should be a professional singer. Her voice is fantastic.I have Taurus MC, 2nd house ruler mercury in 7th... deposited into venus by house. I like singing a lot, yea. I wouldn't say I'm great at it, just average. IP: Logged |

If you really do want to sing, the vocal range and timbre are all things that could be developed. Maybe you have ok timbre, and you need just to develop it and know how to use your voice.
And my thoughts, that for different music genres you need different things.
For example, rock star doesn't need to have very smooth or melodic voice, I guess.
Same as, you can have your own style of singing and use your best features to make it work.
just an opinion.
Personally, I'm musical enough, during my childhood I've learned how to play the piano and never thought about singing, though I've learned how to do it as a kid.
But recently I've started to learn singing more seriously.
Step by step, my voice is developing. But now it's just as hobby  I think, it's enough for now.
Me placements:
Venus in Taurus (11th H) opposite Moon and Pluto, trine Uranus and Neptune.
2H in Leo, 3H in Virgo,
ASC in Leo.
Sun in 12H in Cancer, Pluto R in 5th H.
Mercury in Cancer in 12H.

beauty is in the "ear" of the beholder, what is pleasant to my ears my be irritating to someone else'smy favorite western voices (I don't like all their songs though, just think they have a nice voice): chris brown:
