The best questions in Astrology are the basic ones. People can be afraid to ask simple questions because they feel silly. However, no one ever learned anything without venturing forth with questions. I hope I can shed some light on this one, which is from Libracorn on Linda-Goodman.com.

The Sun is something that we show everyone. If one is at work, co-workers can see your Sun. Your Sun shines forth as THE most dominant part of you. However, it is not the most INTIMATE part of you. This is, probably, where the questions arise. What is, actually, the difference, in practical terms? I hope I can explain.

I will use myself as an example because I know myself better than anyone. I am a Gemini Sun in the 9th House. If you don’t know me well, you will know me as a Gemini. Gemini is curious. Gemini loves to learn. Gemini knows a little about a lot. Gemini has a light spirit.

Most interactions in life are rather superficial. Consider your day. You may go to work. You may go to the grocery story. You may go to the library. You may go to the mall. You may call up a plumber for a broken pipe. You may talk with a neighbor. For these interactions, the people would see your Sun.

However, for the few intimates in your life, you would reveal your Moon. Your Moon could be likened to your underwear. Your underwear may be sexy. It may be old cotton, fraying at the seams. People in your daily life do not see your underwear. People you love do, within reason. I hope this goes without saying.

One’s heart is one’s Moon. One’s Moon comes forth when one cries. One’s Moon comes forth when one plays with one’s dog. One’s Moon comes forth when one plays with children. One’s Moon comes forth when one prays. One does not show one’s heart to just anyone because one’s heart is vulnerable. Hence, the doorway to one’s Moon requires a key. That key is love and trust.

Some people are more likely to show their Moons to the general public. This would be the Moon conjunct the MC and the Moon conjunct the ASC. These natives are destined to wear their underwear on the outside, in metaphoric terms. These natives, of which I am one, do not have a choice. We were born to show our hearts. It is part of our journey and we could not be different, if we tried. It would be like trying to alter your eye color. It just IS.

The chart placement of your Moon will reveal how readily you will show your heart. It differs greatly with Moon placements in House and with aspects.

Thank you for actually doing the article for me! I didn't think you'd actually would. This one was quite interesting as well.

It's just that I asked this question because both my Sun and Moon are in the same sign. So does that mean that everyone sees more Libra in me than anything?

I have a Capricorn Rising, I think that kills things lol I'm not sure if people would see my Capricorn more or my Libra, what do you think?

Well, the ASC, Sun and Moon blends. You can't totally separate them when dealing with the real life person. The whole chart would reveal more, due to House placement, aspects etc but the person is always a blend!

I have my Cap Moon in 5H opp. Cancer Sun in 11H. To generally describe their energies I am like a Leo (5H) at heart EXCEPT when it comes to relationships where I am very difficult. My Moon is sq. Pluto and that is an energy that is deeply situated in me. I show my Leo side to the general public and unfortunately those close to me get to deal with the Cap version :-/

My Cancer Sun? Also sq. Pluto. I show my Sun to the general audience as well ie mothering and/or leading groups/friends but in all honesty I am very out of touch with my Sun.

I asked this in another post why I attract certain signs only and why I am so fiery and someone basically said that my Sun is shining on the Sun's natural house, making me double fire-infused so having said that, I don't think there is much difference between my Sun and Moon seeing as both are also square Pluto.

Sidenote: I have Leo Saturn in 11H (Saturn's house by traditional rulership?) and I think he sits there infusing my Moon in 5H with even more Leo/Sun.

People that have tried to guess my Sun sign have all said Leo.

My Dad also has a Leo Moon and we are very alike in looks and mannerisms.

At work neither my Sun nor Moon are on display, there I am purely my Virgo Asc and Mars.

Well,it depends. Do you have any planet close to the Asc.Or maybe some conjunct the 10th house cusp?

I have a friend who has Cap Asc and even though I see the whole "focused in the career" thing- given that he also has Saturn in the 10th.

I also see however, that he "comes alive" when it comes to discussions of philosophy, the BIG questions, debates and all that(Sag).

He also has Jupiter on the MC conjunct Saturn. So I am thinking that Jupiter usually comes out to play when the business of paying bills is all done?

Many people know him to be morose,"cold" and formal. But they also know that he is knowledgeable, well-versed and well read(Jupiter).

His Vedic Asc is Sag.

Yes, there is something conjuncting my ascendant. Actually, Neptune is closely conjunct my ascendant by like 3 degrees. Uranus is conjunct my ascendant as well, However it's extremely weak, about 9 degrees apart. I also have Pluto in the 10th, however, it is not conjunct my midheaven.

Loved this article.

I have Sun in 5th and Moon in the 11th.

Born on a full moon, but they do not oppose each other.

Pullen ranks Leo at number one, for Signs, and Pisces

comes in at no. two.

Neptune ranks number one, for planets, and the Sun comes

in at no. two.

All of that to say, I think the two are hopelessly

intertwined in my case.

I love the way you write so much!

I never thought about the pets thing. It that is so so true. The moon really does come out when people play with their pets! I am a cancer moon and I completely smother my pets haha. I hug them until they look uncomfortable then I will release them from my cancerian cling hug. ,y boyfriend is an Aries moon and he likes to do active things with pets like playing and running.

Hmmmm. Aries moon underwear is definitely red and skimpy! Cancer moon is frilly and lacy but lacy in a sweet girly way rather than sexy way. Scorpio moon is of course sexy black lace. Libra moon is pink! Taurus moon is probably pink too but made of expensive materials. Leo moon.... Gold shimmer!

There are usually no surprises.

Unlike Sun opposite Moon, that can really throw people off when they get to know you, because there is usually an added depth

But wouldn't my ascendant throw people off? It's Capricorn... Libra and Capricorn are nothing alike.. So maybe in my case it's not what you see is what you get? Like which is stronger or more noticeable? A person's sun, moon, or asc?

I've got Moon conjunct Mars, so I would argue that sometimes my moon is affective negatively. I would say that generally, with my loved ones, I display the good qualities of Aries. The passionate, voice of change, leader Aries. With Venus in Taurus, it also makes me a very fixed and realiable person.

However, sometimes the good qualities of Aries Moon is affected by my Aries Mars and it's like. All the good things about my Aries Moon x 2 and that means... Destruction!

Can you tell me about Aries Moon, I. I have someone in my life now with it but I don't think I know many people with it. If you can, just give me a description, as you see it!

I would say that the number one thing about me, is that I feel things passionately. If I love something, I really love it. If I don't like something, I really don't like something and there's seldom any middle ground and it's quite obvious when I talk! There are some things that I don't have an opinion on and people are actually quite shocked, because I'm know to take a stand on most things looool.

I also find it hard accepting that I am wrong (but I am getting better at this). I also tend to like honesty at all costs and I want people to be open and transparent. I don't like things being hidden from me. I like to know what I am dealing with so I can channel my resources to get the best results. I feel like there's no point of me trying to "win" something if I'm not very well equipped and sometimes, that knowledge can be obtained by people giving me all of the information I need. I wouldn't say I hate losing, but I hate being led or forced into participating in things that I'm not going to win or do not stand a chance of winning (for whatever reason). I get irritated by slow people and processes.

I like things to constantly keep moving and developing - projects, but also my emotions. I might get angry or sad, but I hate staying in that frame of mind. It's like I'm unable to move. So... Once it's released, it's usually out of my system and gone.

I like solving things - problems and coming up with solutions.

People would say I'm argumentative, I would say I'm not... However, you can see how all of the above would make me come across as a NO nonsense person and rather impatient/volatile lol. That gets me into trouble and has done may times over the years.

I also don't like being pushed around, but I admit that I do indirectly and unintentionally do it to others (lol - oops), but only because I have an idea of what I want and I don't like people messing up my plans, playing or taking the **** out of the things I love - especially my family. That's a hot botton! That said, I also have Venus opposite Pluto, so I would say that this characteristics ties in and is made more acute by that aspect. I turn into a raging ram/bull.

I hope that helps
