Omg, this thread totally is awesome.A. Anomalia I've been laughing out loud at some responses because it's so true and at the same time, so... nutty. Can relate to most of those things. Sometimes in my dreams I also actually think about astrology. Checking transits; always reaching the 100 charts limit; thinking "Oh this is so Moon opposite Venus" or "I can see the Scorpio Moon showing up here" about what someone just did or said, etc. And yeah... snooping around to get the DOB/TOB or just asking it in a way that doesn't reveal your true (oh so Machiavellian) intentions. Thanks for making me feel less like an astrology-obsessed weirdo! Or maybe we all are, but hey, we have a nice little friendly circle of astro-addicts here - it's all good. IP: Logged |

...you calculate Sabian symbols for pretty much anything, including your signature ( http://www.astrologyweekly.com/sabiansymbols/name.php have fun obsessing!). ...you make persona charts for house cusps. ...you consider sending a natal reading to the celeb you like. Doux, you're hardly obsessed, at least in comparison to me.

But that's what anyone interested in astro would do...right? quote: You write songs about astrology and sing them at every jam session you attend.
Sounds cool! quote: When you actually check your horoscope daily.
Meh. Try checking charts of the moment in your location ------------------ Anomaling around since 1911. IP: Logged |

THIS! and everything else mentioned above & on other posts, by the way how can I cleverly ask someone for their TIME of birth? I usually say. "I know something about myself that probably the majority doesn't know about themselves and even you may not even know that about yourself. I know my time of Birth! *slight smirk-wink* Do you by any chance know your birth time? hmm?" LOL (face palm) exactly like that girls. Please show me a clever way to ask.

When you advocate for astrology in all but few conversations, and your replies have resorted to "mhm" to avoid sounding crazy!  this one takes it by far! .... when you kinda make up some really stupid story just to be able to ask a person what time on the day they were born, like you make up any extremely clever and creative way to ask them without them ever realising that it was astrology related (and you feel like a truly professional detective) When you avoid someone as soon as you know they have X, Y, Z in [blank] sign.

- when the first thing you do when you get a new student is to ask them to tell you something about themselves, including their birthday, and then tailor the class according to their Sun sign - when you sit in a bus trying to figure out when other commuters were born - when your best friend tells you she's taken up cooking and you think - "those Cancerian goodies are finally starting to kick in" - when the first thing you do when your nephew gets born is not to ask for the mother's health but the exact time of birth - when you have to clean up your hard drive because you have so many astrology images that your PC has started to slow down. - when your favourite pastime is thinking about how to write a funny blog about certain aspects. WOW,, > when the first thing you do when you get a new student is to ask them to tell you something about themselves < My high school Geometry teacher(75-76) collected birth data from the whole class because she was a closet astrologer,I guess you couldn't get away with that these days. ------------------ Seimei, Jupiter Nadir IP: Logged |

Yes, you can! It depends on what kind of teacher you are. I'm lucky because I teach languages and I just say: "Ok, now tell me when you were born in Spanish." The thing is they would have to tell me that even if I wasn't interested in astrology, because I'd want to check their knowledge. But I guess that a geography teacher asking a the same question might look a bit suspicious. IP: Logged |

Well, you know in geometry class, there is the objection, Why do I need to know how to find the square of a hypotenuse or anything about Pythagoras. It was after I got out of high school that I found out she did this over a period of years, and ran into her shopping. Geometry was her reason for wanting to know all her students birth time and she pulled it off. She followed the lives of as many as her students she could to study astrology. I was a stoner at that point in my life but I liked geometry. ------------------ Seimei, Jupiter Nadir IP: Logged |

I don't really use the info to track my students or deepen my knowledge of astrology, I use it to help me understand the unique learning style of each student. A Sag student will require a different kind of imput than a Capricorn one. A Cancer- influenced student will need a lot more reassuring and patience than a Libra. Aries Suns and Moons usually need to be taught how to accept their mistakes without feeling bad and wanting to give up, or worse, without blaming me for their lack of progress. Astrology helps me prepare myself and adopt the most suitable strategy to cope with the problems my students might have with learning something as difficult and frustrating as foreign languages. Whenever someone tells you they're a Scorpio you pass out (various reasons).Your family members approach you on a bad day asking, "What's the moon in today?!?!" Ugh...the same sign it was in yesterday when you were ****** . You're able to give signs to songs based on how they sound. You're able to connect 5 generations through similar aspects/signs.

When you start relating everything to astrological placements. Like I'll meet someone, in my head I'm already guessing what their chart would look like, or if they say something I'll think Oh my goodness, that is SO moon in aquarius of you! or whatever :P IP: Logged |

Haha, I like yours! I usually find a way to bring up the fact that I'm a morning person, like "I'm so tired, I never have any energy in the afternoon. I'm much more of a morning person. I heard that you can tell the time you were born at based on when you have the most energy. It's true for me, since I was born at 7:10. How about you?" It's lame but it works! Anyone else, please tell me your secrets! There's gotta be a foolproof method lol.

...when you're still here. And when you're genuinely disappointed that Aunt Anomalia didn't include 30 Urania and 5 Astraea in the chart above, and think of setting aside fifteen minutes out of your day to re-create and post the chart, approximating AA's location. When you could be out in the sunshine instead. ETA: Astraea was at 25 Taurus, on the sun-Mars midpoint, while Urania was at 8 Taurus, on the sun-Uranus midpoint. Both in the transiting 10H near Uranus on the MC IP: Logged |
