I live in the German Capital of bankers. If a guy asks me out, I can be sure that he does have a job either in banking, (corporate) law or real estate.

I would like to study some natals of them. Hence I'd need to know what are the indicators for having talent in finance/banking?

Looking forward to reading your suggestions

Both money and law need a thorough and practical approach. So I would vote for Cap/Saturn placements.

Saturn on the Sun/Moon/Mercury or Asc often suggests a very practical person.

I know one who is great in risk management, calls himself something like a genuis when it comes to numerical data

Sun in virgo end of 11h. Leo Stellium (inl mercury) in leo in 11h.
Moon in pisces in 5h oppos sun
His saturn in scorpio in 2h. (i have saturn in virgo in 2h and always hated maths).

I just don't get it why he is in the financial world. I thought he would be great as a dog trainer

But i know a banking consultant who is really really great in his job. He is frequently consulted by top banking executives to establish, review or even reshape the most complex and critical transformation projects. A highly intelligent person.
Unfortunately i do not have his tob but he does have mercury in virgo conj pluto = deep penetrating mind

Sun in virgo is conjunct regulus. Speaks for his fame in the corporate world.

Hmm.. I didn't really read through this thread much.. But, I would say this:

Strong pluto/8th house/Scorpio in the chart..
Strong mercury in the chart.. Especially if within the expression of the 6th house/Virgo..
Also.. Possibly Jupiter/Sagittarius/9th house placements..

Now.. Not all of these need to be extremely strong in the general energy of the chart.. But, strong contacts between them could be quite favorable.. Especially if there are good quintiles tieing in with these 3 planets, whilst having a connection with one another.. I could actually see a pluto-Jupiter quintile mixed in with having one of those planets trine mercury being a possibly good placement for banking and such. Maybe a Mercury Pluto conjunction.. (I think I may have seen this one mentioned when I did a really quick look through this thread..)

So.. The reason I pick these planets/houses/signs out is this.. Pluto has a connection to "other people's money" but.. It is also a strong planet of conversion of energy.. Money in itself is its own form of energy.. Pluto and mercury aspecting eachother would help to make the use of that energy comprehensible on a whole other level, if aspected and placed correctly.. Chiron could be interested, if placed correctly, as it may help someone to help other people with money issues.

Jupiter deals a lot with "bigger money" you know, fortune. Not to mention, it could prove helpful in law because it also has a certain rulership with governing.. Of course, in regards to law, having a Saturn-Jupiter aspect could be quite helpful.. Although, I believe in the case of a Saturn-Jupiter aspect, the moon believe it or not could be helpful to be tied to one of those planets in aspect, to help the native to not make judgements completely that are completely cold and harsh.

And... Of course, I picked Mercury because not only does it deal with the mathematical side of money, it would also have a bit to do with any type of negotiating that may need to be done. Not to mention, all the careers you mentioned all deal a lot with a certain amount of communication.

Virgo, to me, would be that more calculated energy though.. And more concerned with serving the public, when compare to Gemini who would be more the sheer conversationalist, or messenger. Either expression of Mercury would be helpful though.

So.. The first three planets/houses/signs would stick out to me the most, personally..

1. Mercury or Mars in Virgo
2. Mercury or Mars in Capricorn (sometimes other placements in Capricorn)
3. For law only: Libra placements (when combined with Virgo)
4. Taurus placements... maybe... in combination with other more hardworking signs. Taurus is the most materialistic of all the earth signs, but they can't always be bothered putting in the hard yards.

And... Occasionally you'll see Scorpio Sun, Mercury, Mars stumble into this kind of area - but in their case it's all about the power. Money is very trivial to Scorpio. So they are not as passionate about these areas as some of the others, and it doesn't come so "naturally" to them.

I have experience with this! lol
Those are the main placements.

I would add placements in the 2nd/8th house axis, and any sort of Mercurial or Virgo influence.

Examples:

J.P. Morgan:
-Virgo moon
-2nd House stellium of Pluto, Venus, Sun, Mercury (Aries), and North Node (Taurus)

Warren Buffett:
-Virgo Sun/Neptune, 8th House
-2nd House ruler conjunct IC and North Node

Bernard Madoff:
-Taurus Sun/Taurus Moon (as well as Taurus Uranus)
-Venus in Taurus conjunct MC
-Saturn in the 8th

Mikhail Fridman:
-Taurus Sun conj. Jupiter, loosely conj. Taurus Mercury
-Birth time unknown, so moon can either be in Leo or Virgo (more likely Virgo, conj. Virgo Uranus/Pluto)

David Rockefeller:
-Venus and Mars in Taurus
-Gemini Sun/Moon
-Birth time unknown

Mario Draghi:
-Virgo Sun/Venus/Mercury

I've also noticed very successful people in finance often have Jupiter/Pluto, Saturn/Pluto, or Jupiter/Saturn- especially in conjunctions and trines.

Hi Enneline,

I did a quick search for the top bankers of all time and this is what I came up with:

1) Mayer Amschel Rothschild: http://www.astrotheme.com/astrology/Mayer_Amschel_Rothschild
Pluto in 2nd house

2) J.P. Morgan: http://www.astrotheme.com/astrology/J._P._Morgan
Absolutely packed 2nd house, including Pluto.

3) Paul Warburg: http://www.astrotheme.com/astrology/Paul_Warburg
No time of birth but Pluto in Taurus (and Moon)

4) Amadeo P. Giannini: http://www.astrotheme.com/astrology/Amedeo_Giannini
Taurus Pluto (and Sun) conjunct ASC. Also Jupiter in Taurus

It almost seems that Pluto in 2nd house (or Taurus) should give a strong drive towards banking.

Also I read a while back an article about the top 10 billionaires. The author found that all of them had Saturn aspecting Venus (any aspect!), either for the placidus or heliocentric chart. They concluded that Saturn-Venus aspects give the resilience to keep pushing ahead even when the rewards aren't obvious.

I hope this helps.

P.S. I remembered something. The fixed star Thuban (the former and future north pole star located ~7°Vir27), according to Brady, "is the symbol of one who guards or produces a treasure. Again the treasure can be spiritual or material. Thuban is said to indicate prospectors of gold or silver and ministers of money. Its connection with that which is highly valuable." One of the famous Chief Secretaries to the U.S. Treasury had it conjunct his Midheaven, so I'm assuming in a prominent position it may give the "gift" of banking. However, Thuban is conjunct my Midheaven and I have zero interest in banking, or any financial job, so I wouldn't take any one aspect as absolute.

^^ Hmmm ... yeah.... actually all earth placements can be successful when they put in the work
But "talented" as in having a special talent for this kind of thing... I'd say Virgo Mercury tops all placements in that regard.
And some of the others I posted could likewise be talented.

When it comes to celebrities, they could be hard-working or money hungry, and utterly talent-less (and we would be none the wiser).

For economics definitely MC in Sag. I have seen this more than once.

My ex neighbour is very successful, he moved to Frankfurt Germany and has a really really good bank job. He also has MC sag and Merc/sun in Virgo in 6th.
Saturn is also in 6th, in Leo. So his 6th is ruled by the sun and is situated in 6th. Moon in Taurus in 2nd. How wonderful! Yep, earth!
Funnily he has Venus in Leo (5th) like Enneline mentioned. I have venus in Leo and trust me, I am no good in that department. Also Mercury in 10th like Midnightvenus, I have it. But with the right combinations it might.

Dealing with hard, cold numerical data is more a Virgo, Cap and to some extent Gem sort of thing.

Also I would include Mercury(ruler of Gem and Virgo) ,Saturn(ruler of Cap).

But the "talent" part is more emotionally based, instinctual and leaning more towards the "undefined".

So for natural talents,I would look to the 2nd/8th and 3rd house cusp placements and rulers.

The 6th house is more about what you bring to the job market. The tenacity (or lack thereof) and how you "compete" with others for a job/promotion.

The 6th and 10th shows dedication towards work. And not necessarily the nature of the work per se. The house ruler aspects or planet therein, may point to this.

@HoodBlaze,

You have the Asc ruler(Jupiter) in the 10th house.

This denotes someone who defines themselves by what they do outside the home(possibly career, reputation etc.)

Jupiter in 10th wants a good, above-board reputation and to be respected/admired for their knowledge etc.

The Moon in Virgo certainly suggests that you dig into details and this comes naturally to you(advantageous).

The placement of the Moon in the 10th house, suggests that you tend to feel emotionally fulfilled when dedicating every waking moment of your life in dealings outside the home.

Moon in 10th points to someone who wants an emotionally fulfilling career. It may even suggest someone is "married" to the job. Or considers what they do, to be a BIG part of who they are.

Now for talents;

Uranus and Neptune in 2nd. Talent for the artistic(Neptune) as well as the unusual(Uranus).

The conjunction of these two in the 2nd, suggests a very strong intuition and periodic flashes of "inspiration".

3rd house has Saturn. A naturally observant, disciplined mind. The ability to concentrate and "keep at it" when others have long given up.

There could be a talent in mathematics or the ability to bring abstract concepts(3rd) into physical form(Saturn).

This placement also suggests that there could be some "inferiority" issues with regards to mental ability that you may need to work through.

This is echoed by the ruler of the 3rd(Uranus) forming a conjunction with Neptune(periods of doubts or confusion).

Neptune opposing Mercury(ruler of the 10th). So these issues may even interfere with your career(10th).

The 6th house cusp has Venus there. You want to get along at work and have the ability to convince/persuade others into hiring you or working as a part of a team.

This is also echoed by your Sun in 7th- self actualization(Sun) may come through your ability to synthesize with others(7th)

You need others(7th) to define who you are(Sun). And this could be good/ bad- depending on how you use it

Venus in 6th doesn't like competition and often shows a talent in artistic abilities/talents.

You have the ability of creating something beautiful and valuable with the work you do(Venus in 6th).

Now the ruler of the 6th(Venus) is opposed by Pluto. This denotes that there tends to be an "all or nothing" approach to working standards.

You may tend to overwork, personalize work conflicts or get involved in work politics- due to the passion you have for the job you do(Moon in 10th echoes this too).

This may contradict the Venus in 6th "wanting to get along". But you may justify your intense approach as "caring for what you do"(again supported by Moon in 10th).

Mercury(ruler of the 10th) is in the 8th house-denoting an interest in areas of psychology, complex subjects(most involving life/death issues),even finance(more specifically taxation).

Mercury in the 8th suggest an unquenchable , never-ending interest in the subjects that fall under the 8th house(and definitely not limited to those that I mentioned).

To summarize;

Moon/Jupiter(ruler of 1st) in 10th suggests that your career is very important.

Saturn in 3rd suggests intelligence in bringing abstract terms to the tangible and
real.

Venus in 6th suggests a talent in creating something of beauty in the work environment. You must be allowed to be creative at work.

Uranus/Neptune in 2nd echo the 6th house sentiment. But they help you use intuition(Neptune) and originality(Uranus) to make money(2nd).

Ruler of the 8th in 10th(Moon),ruler of the 10th in 8th(Mercury) connection suggests that the 8th house area is the area where you are likely to receive recognition or feel most "at home" in building a career in.

Mercury in 8th suggests an unquenchable interest in areas of this house.

Whilst Jupiter in 10th also suggests an ability to teach, mentor or educate- perhaps through its loose connection to the house ruler of the 8th(Moon) by house?

This could mean that the 8th house areas is where you are likely to educate/teach? Think about it.

Now I would suggest that you focus on a career that deals mostly with others-Sun is in the 7th(Cancer).

It may be a position where you facilitate or deal with other people (in some way). Since Venus(the planet of getting along) is also in the 6th.

This career could be something that provides a service or is in public relations etc.

The Uranus/Neptune in 2nd, Saturn in 3rd,Mercury in 8th and Jupiter in 10th are the resources that you have at your disposal(in the background), to help you cement yourself in your career-whatever it is.

But I would really think that a career that deals mostly with others(7th) and not one that pushes you into the background(12th)- is best for you.

Good luck

I think it's because Mercury in Virgo is dignified that they are so talented in these areas.
I'm not sure how to describe it... But when you *see* them doing their thing, it's almost like an art form... It's like watching an amazing painter complete their artwork

Having Pisces placements, I'm not always a fan of Virgo Mercury. They can be too cold for me.
But no one who has known a Virgo Mercury person can be in doubt as to their amazing talent in things like - finance and banking. Their memory (when it comes to concrete facts) is *just* stellar.

This is such an inborn thing, that comes so naturally to them (it's not something they have to "work" for) - so I couldn't refer to it as anything but a "talent".

But of course there are cultural factors and gender issues to take into account.
It would be extremely difficult (if not impossible), for instance, for an Islamic woman living in the Middle East (with a Virgo Mercury) to ever become a successful banker or corporate lawyer.

So yes - as always, the Virgo Mercury talent is particularly exploited by the - Western White Male

When it comes to all of the other aspects mentioned here, including house placements and so on --- this is just my personal experience, but the people I had added on Facebook during my law degree (something like 150-200 people) - had an inordinate amount of Virgo and Capricorn happening... Virgo Mercury and Capricorn Mars were quite common.

I can't put this down to mere coincidence! I researched their charts, although I didn't have all of their times of birth...
It may well be that house placements and aspects -add- to the interest/passion for these particular areas of study... BUT... that doesn't change the fact that - these signs were almost always represented in my "sample".
So the signs are still pretty important!

I like this topic very much! I believe having a Earthly (Capricorn,Taurus,Virgo) in Sun/Moon/AS/MC/Saturn would make someone good with money.also Saturn/Pluto placements with personal planets like Mars or moon.

Also I have a question, this my natal chart:

http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah136/Plutonic_Emperor19/Natal%20chart_zpsw76nj p34.jpeg

Show any capabilities with money/finances? I'm studying my best to understand business and how it works.I'm taking business/Entrepreneurship classes plus I'm in a competition involving business.I Am most likely going to a career path involving this sort of stuff since it seems interesting. Sorry to bother all of you all of the sudden!

Oh and also my chart ruler is Mercury in Aquarius,so I guess that's useful!
