So how do astrologers determine what sign rules a country? The general characteristics of the people in them? They also list cities ruled by certain signs.
To determine what sign rules a country, I think it make sense to use the chart of 'independence', or of the 'ruling body' of the country.
In the CIA Fact Book, for example, take a look at China: quote: Independence: 1 October 1949 (People's Republic of China established); notable earlier dates: 221 B.C. (unification under the Qin Dynasty); 1 January 1912 (Qing Dynasty replaced by the Republic of China)National holiday: National Day, the anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, 1 October (1949)
For the United States the CIA Fact Book says: quote: Independence: 4 July 1776 (declared); 3 September 1783 (recognized by Great Britain)National holiday: Independence Day, 4 July (1776)
For cities, usually the date the city was founded, or 'incorporated'.
States and cities, generally have their own state and local governing bodies. Regarding countries...the terminology glossary for the CIA Fact Book defines a country's date of "independence" as: quote: IndependenceFor most countries, this entry gives the date that sovereignty was achieved and from which nation, empire, or trusteeship. For the other countries, the date given may not represent "independence" in the strict sense, but rather some significant nationhood event such as the traditional founding date or the date of unification, federation, confederation, establishment, fundamental change in the form of government, or state succession. For a number of countries, the establishment of statehood was a lengthy evolutionary process occurring over decades or even centuries. In such cases, several significant dates are cited. Dependent areas include the notation "none" followed by the nature of their dependency status.
Similarly, when you are born you have independence from your mother's womb.
And if you are are country, perhaps the birth of a nation involves independence from a motherland, or other governing body. LOve & LIght, HRH ------------------ Got the Wings of Heaven on my Shoes.
