Topic: What sign is your country ruled by? I'm confused

According to the famous astrologers Julia Derek Parker, my country (Australia) is considered a "Sagittarian" country.
However, our constitution was signed on 1 January 1901 during the time of Capricorn. And Australia Day is held on January 26 during the time of Aquarius.So how do astrologers determine what sign rules a country? The general characteristics of the people in them? The Parkers list the following countries are ruled as follows: Aries = England, France, Germany, Denmark
Taurus = Switzerland, Ireland, Iran, Cypru
Gemini = Wales, Belgium, USA, Egypt, Armenia
Cancer = Holland, Scotland, New Zealand, Paraguay, Algeria
Leo = Italy, Romania, Lebanon
Virgo = Greece, West Indies, Turkey, Brazil,
Libra = Austria, Burma, Japan, Argentina, Canada, Tibet
Scorpio = Norway, Algeria, the Transvaal, Syria, South Korea, Uruguay
Sagittarius = Spain, Australia, Hungary, South Africa, Former Yugoslavia
Capricorn = India, Mexico, Afghanistan, Albania, Lithuania
Aquarius = Russia, Sweden, Poland, Israel, Iran

I found that the Czech Republic is a Capricorn and I think it is very fitting. The Cancer Mars sounds like what the people here are too.
Edit: astrotheme says Leo is associated with this country, but I will stick to Capricorn.IP: Logged |

Canada's 'birthday'July 1, 1867 Canada is very Cancerian. Matches my moon. I will not know where the Libra comes in and it doesn't seem to fit. Here is a list of national birthdays

These would be equated more with rising signs than sun signs. USA is not Gemini rising and is not ruled by Gemini by any means. It would be more accurate to say Cancer for the USA than Gemini.This is more a sign-based pothole in astrology, and has little practical use. In order to come to such conclusions about any country you must have come to a definite validated chart for each one of them, which I assure you Parker did not do. ------------------

Perhaps...Australia, the continent, is Sagittarian. But...Australia, the country, is Capricorn.
I like to use the CIA World Fact Book to help determine what sign rules a country...

Turkey is Scorpio with a Cancer asc and an anaretic Gemini moon. I always wanted to live in Germany since I am 15. But I never feel happy when I come to Germany and misfortune finds me all the time. I have never attracted to other German speaking countries such as Austria or Switzerland. I think it is because Germany is Aries and I have sun-north node-jupiter conjunction in Aries.IP: Logged |

I don't believe that India is Capricorn.
India is 100% Piscean&Neptunian country.
Look at Indian culture.
Even geography seems to fits (waters).
