I'm scheduled for surgery next week and I'm somewhat nervous about it. The procedure will be done on my head (the bone, not my brain) and so I decided to take a look at the transits for the day of my surgery.

Take a look:

Sun Sextile Sun
Sun Opposition Uranus
Moon Opposition Uranus
Mercury Opposition Saturn
Venus Trine Saturn
Mars Sextile Sun
Mars Opposition Uranus
Saturn Trine Mercury
Uranus Trine Uranus
Neptune Sextile Mars
Neptune Conjunct Jupiter
Neptune Square Saturn
Pluto Trine Venus

Those Uranus contacts aren't putting me at ease! I'm strongly considering rescheduling the procedure because of this.

What can you share with me about these transits?? Is this bad timing?

Am I being paranoid? Doing too much? Lol

Side Note:

My Mother suffered after complications from a surgery. And she died several months ago because of it.

So this adds to my fear and mistrust of Doctors doing their job well - before, during AND following procedures.

I don't do medical astrology BUT if I were you, I would find a good medical Astrologer and do that reading!! This is not something to overlook. I know that!

I just read an article that says it's unwise to have surgeries done when the Moon is in a mutable sign - Pisces, Virgo, Sag and Gemini.

I'm meeting with my doctor tomorrow. Seeing if we could do this procedure (1) day later, at the very least - when the Moon will definitely be in Cancer rather than Gemini. Also read that best time to take and/or purge medications is when Moon is in Cancer or Pisces.

I would not try to figure this out on your own. I would consult a professional. If it were me, I would cancel the surgery until I had my consultation.

There is something with the Moon in cancer that messed up someone I know but it was stomach surgery--a staple.

She did very, very badly and when people looked at her chart, they said it could have been much better if she consulted a medical astrologer

It is my goal to be one. I may not get there but I feel called to it.

Thanks for the info, Vajra! I'll check her out.

The lower end of my head (back) is being operated on. So isn't that actually connected to Taurus?

Hmmm... What's the prognosis for this surgery? Does it normally have a low risk?

There's always risk of infection, leakage, etc. Besides that, Doc didn't think there was much to worry about. He says that I should be sent home within a night or two after the surgery.

This is what I would do....

If the surgery was absolutely necessary - and the prognosis was good – (plus, the risks were low)… I would go ahead with it. I wouldn’t worry about the astrology.

If it was not absolutely necessary, I wouldn’t go through with it at all and would seek out alternative/natural treatment. After trying everything under the Sun from acupuncture, physio, chiropractic to yoga… (as well as natural medicine and vitamins) – If nothing at all worked for me, then – I would go with the surgery.

If (3rd scenario) the surgery was indeed necessary – but – the prognosis was pretty unsettling… and I was worried about the risks – then I would also get *paranoid*.
I would then go to a professional astrologer and try to figure out the best date to schedule it. In this case, I might even go to three different professional astrologers, to triple-check.

Oh we posted at the same time!
Hmm... Ok.. Well honestly, if it's mostly "nothing to worry about", so the surgery is not very serious - then, it's very likely everything will be fine (no matter when it is scheduled).
Just my opinion...

But I would still prefer a natural therapy path... if it was possible to avoid surgery.

I don't have a whole lot of time to wait and figure this out.

I'm currently on leave from work and they are under the impression that I'm getting this surgery done next week, and returning to work 4-6 weeks after. If I don't do it next week, I'll need to wait until right after July 4th - as I have too many very important things planned for the end of June! So pushing this back further may or may not cause tension with my Employer.

This is annoying. Lol.

Doc says that my case is too far gone. I'd need surgery. Unless I want my situation to get much worse.

I would prefer not to be cut on if I didn't have to!

I can't give much information here, but I have read it is "ill advised" to have surgery when Artemis (moon) is in the Sign that rules what's being worked on (in your case Aries), and just Scorpius in general (I'm guessing because of the whole drastic measure secretive nature of surgery), and as you said, les Mutables. In the case of it being the bone, I'd suggest avoiding Artemis in Capricornus too.

I'm sorry , but can you post a circular chart if you can? I just want to be able to "read" your positions clearly- with the transits.

Sailor thanks for replying! I did read in several places that it wasn't wise to operate while the Moon was in the sign that ruled that body part.

Aries23, below are the charts. One for the *new* date of my surgery - June 25. And the other of my old date - June 16.

The Moon will be in Libra on the 25th and I just read that Libra also rules the vascular/nervous system of the skin. I'm getting a head operation near my spine...so Libra wouldn't affect this at all?

What stands out? You always offer great feedback. So I'm all ears!
