I have Mercury in the 3rd House & Mercury square Pluto and I agree. I’m a natal astrology (student) EXPERT and I wish I could tell almost everyone I know about their natal charts; and helping them towards their journey, to self-discovery and self-identity mastery. Also, seeing how I can barely stop typing/writing once I start, I think this would extends itself towards my speech habits if my Leo Mercury didn’t aspect Pluto. I have Mercury trine Saturn too! Saggy Merc/Pluto is on Galactic Center and unaspected except for the conjuction, that's my son w/ADHD. They both outtalk me by far, I have saggy Sun/Merc/Nept in 2nd and 3rd house by trine by Saturn so that might tone it down a bit.
Wait, you have Mercury in the 3rd House and your friends out-talk you? You’re like me then, haha. This might not make sense, but although I’ve noticed that once I begin talking , I have to mentally note that I need to pause and let the other person speak, internally, I feel like a very quiet person. In addition to having a 3rd House Mercury, I also have Mercury square Pluto and Mercury trine Saturn.

I found this when I was looking for something else, so apologies for bumping an old thread.I can talk too much - I was talking to a friend about this the other night - or I can go really quiet. I used to be quieter when this house wasn't so quiet. It was comforting to hear people in other rooms, the dogs running around, and being able to walk into another room and talk to someone/hear them on the phone, etc. I used to sit there and draw, or work on something, as others talked around me. Sometimes I don't need to talk, though. I need to *do* something, and get out of my head. Whether that's creative, or physically active. Sometimes, just browsing in a bookstore will make me feel better. Surrounded by people, without having to interact with anyone. You get to be quiet, and have some sort of company. I'm getting ready to (hopefully) paint the bathroom, and my bedroom, something I've been meaning to do for a few years. I've been cooking/meal prepping, but need to be careful with that when I'm stressed: over a week ago, I sliced into my finger, badly. Thankfully, I had liquid bandage spray, and that helped to stem the bleeding, after a while. Also, thanks to my impulse buys, I had some nail polish base that strengthens nails: I painted that on as soon as the nail started to try to break off. *edit. Oops. Mercury/Pluto Scorpio can talk much and on different subjects, but mostly with close people. I might have verbal vomiting sometimes, but I usually feel regretful after it. Not good with small talks. Don’t like to give away too much personal information, but like the other’s secrets😉

Maybe Pluto/Merc is the cause for his mind to run at lightening speeds with such huge intensity...it's kind of crazy and overwhelming, but he's a sweetheart.I would think Uranus/Merc would be fun, you must be brilliant! Interesting! I have mercury conjunct Pluto in Scorpio and I also have ADHD :/ my brain is always on and I’ve got input on any topic of discussion brought up (Taurus moon in 3rd house 😁  . Anyway, I think it may come from all the other aspects of communication we’re picking up on too such as body language, eye contact, voice tones, and especially just overall vibes. Long story short, socializing is extremely exhausting even though my heart needs it (sun and mercury in Scorpio 9th house opposite 3rd house Taurus moon)

I have Cancer Merc sq Pluto and I’ll talk a lot IF I find subject of interest, otherwise you’ll have to pry my mouth open...My Scorp Merc (sq Pluto) mother talks ALOT about everything. My Gem Merc father talks, normally I think. Sick sense of humor that one.. IP: Logged |

Spot on. I've noticed the above placements with people who are non gemini or virgo natives and they do talk alot. I have 4/8 of the placements listed above. Ironically, I tend to tone down or scan the people around around me before saying anything (we live in such a divided world now). Or try to alter the conversation to save my a$$ if I'm forced to agree on something I don't agree with. If I was to travel to N.Korea and "Rocketman" tried to convince me how great things are...I'd have to manipulate the conservation into a half truth. Like say..Yes North Korea is one of the best places to drive without encountering traffic... ...and hide the fact that the average N.Korean can't afford a car therefore there isn't any traffic on the roads. But you'd have to be very specific on how you say it otherwise it will come back on you if someone tries to twist what you said. The rest of the time if I feel there isn't any repercussions to saying what I want to say or I can deal with the people that will criticize what I will say, I will say it how it is in public.
Laugh away if you may, I actually get a big kick out of talking to my friends cat, which meows constantly.

I have yet to meet the person who will over-talk my mother. She has Gemini Sun/Mercury/Jupiter tight conjunction, Gemini Mars, Libra Moon and Rising, and one irritated Uranus on MC. I spent most of my young life praying to the whatever force is out there to make her silent (at least in the early morning, I could settle for the noon, definitely the evening), but her voice was way too potent. I checked the charts of 2 friends who are really talkative... basically have no air time when we're with them. They tend to dominate all the conversations.The common factor between them is both have Mercury hard aspects (conj, square, opp) Jupiter & Pluto. It must be hard aspects and to both planets as I noticed those with soft aspects and/or only to one of the planets are not talkative. For those with Mercury hard aspect Uranus, they can talk when they're excited or if it's a topic that excites them, otherwise they can be quiet.

I have Mercury Rx in Sag in the 11th and I love silence lol. I am a very good listener, probably due in part to not having desire to talk. I do love to write though. I have a lot of Capricorn/12th house placements. I do not have any planets in Gemini. IP: Logged |

Generally, Aquarius Mercury/Pluto hard aspects talk much and could be all over the place, Aries Mercury/Pluto - talk less than Aquarius, and the subjects what’s around them.
Aquarius Mercury squares Pluto - can talk in circles literally. You’re lucky if you can put one sentence between. Uranus sextile. Almost, cannot keep secrets.
The similar, but sextile with Saturn makes a much quieter person.IP: Logged |
