Just for fun post...

How good are you guys with giving a crowd of people a presentation or how good are you with talking in front of a lot of people?

If you have a hard time doing presentations, what do you do when you present? Do you stutter a lot? Do you tremble?

Also.. What are your aspects to your Ascendant and what planets do you have in your first house.

Cool topic.

Public speaking / presentations tend to stress the hell out of me, but I almost always come across as confident and somehow know what to say even though I rarely learn the subject in-depth (let alone by heart).

Internally, I feel like I look retarded and like my voice is shaking and "oh my god everyone's looking at me and what the hell am I even doing here" but then, people say I aced it.

I have a GEMINI rising, empty 1st house.

Mercury (ASC ruler) is in the 6H, Retro (explains the anxiety) but conjuncts the SUN (explains the coming across as pretty confident). The sign is Scorpio but perhaps not as relevant.

My ASC has quite a few aspects to it, including minor ones, but I don't think they're relevant here.

Someone I know who's very good at public speaking has a LEO rising, with the Sun in Aries conjunct Mercury exact and more widely conjunct Mars. That Sun/Mercury/Mars conjunction is well-aspected - sextile Uranus and trine Pluto.

The ASC aspects, again, don't seem to be of much relevance (it has a square to Venus); empty 1st house.

I have no trouble speaking to crowds. Just speak up, speak clearly, and keep smiling.

Sag rising, sun and mercury in the 11th. No problem with public speaking or commanding a room.

I'm now very good at it and I do it regularly, with great feedback. But for me this was - practice makes perfect, rather than a talent that comes naturally.
I used to hate oral presentations as an Undergrad. I was extra nervous. Now I'm used to it and feel relaxed.

AC: Gemini/Cancer (probably Gemini).
AC sextile Venus and opposite Mars.
No planets in my 1st house.

Mercury sextile Moon exact (this helps in public speaking apparently).

I like it... specifically, the adrenaline rush.*

I don't have anything in the first house...

Taurus Ascendant conjunct Mars, both

of which are squared by Leo Mercury.

For me, it depends. I feel more comfortable talking in front of people only when I am prepared, but even then, I still feel nervous to a certain degree. I usually have things memorized and practiced because when I don't, I tend to forget words and talk about things that are completely unrelated. I guess it's due to my Virgo mercury. I have messy-ass thoughts and if I don't organize them, I become extremely scatterbrained. My mind keeps going on and on about a billion different topics every second--even now as we speak. This is why I find that I always have to prepare before presenting so that I can deliver my message and get my point across precisely and effectively.

When I do present though, I always seem very confident (Leo 3rd house) and have a loud and clear speaking voice. I also tend to appeal emotionally to my audience (Moon in Cancer/1st house), while completely staying logical (Moon sextile Mercury/3rd house).

Btw, I'm also a Gemini rising. That could add to me being scatterbrained at times.

I’m good at it, mainly because I never feel nervous or anxious infront of the crowd.
I like the adrenaline rush too. The intensity of my speech/presentation starts increasing with time, and there comes a moment when I feel like I’m being possessed by a form of energy(probably the crowd’s energy).

I never plan my presentations/speeches.

Leo ASC. As can be expected I've always done well (at least for myself) in presentations and public speaking, even when I knew my audience was disinterested or even hostile to me and/or views.

That said, it's rare that I've sought such opportunities out, but I don't shy away from them either.

I always find improvising a speech alot easier than reading off a script and talking to a crowd.

For me, a script tends to become the focus, not the audience and by speaking from the heart, it feels alot better than reading as people can get bored.

It always helps alot when you are an very knowledgeable in your information.

When I can get-connected inside, and I REALLY know my Topic and have a thorough understanding of it, then I can do quite well. Sometimes I carry a charisma, and it's as though I can sense all the nooks and crannies of the room, and people can feel connected to my material, and that I am connected to the people. I'm friendly, warm, enthusiastic, can be semi~zany, but with a kind and deep penetrating directness.

Again and again, KNOW your topic inside-out, and know the audience and the demographics.

Sag Ascendant, Gemini Sun and Mercury. Mercury-Mars (out of sign) conjunction (Gemini-Cancer) trine to Neptune Libra 10th.

Jupiter-Uranus Cancer 8th sextiles to Virgo Moon 9th (with LEO cusp, and Pluto e.o. 8th, is LEO 9th in Koch system).

I deal with a kind pulled-in shyness, but when warmed up, and that 'charisma' is able to flow out, the power of that is dynamic and it empowers me, because I would connect to a 'passionate belief' about my Topic, with an Open-Sincere Heart that wants to Give of itself because of believing it will help others very much, too.

Being in front of a camera is something I would have to gain a comfortability with these days? o my! I've always experienced a sense like I'm stinging or they're gonna inhale my soul! LOL

I agree, cool topic. And it makes much sense with Asc/ house 1.

This is one thing I can be good at , I was told this by one of my old marketing professors . I don't speak unnecessarly but if I have to deliver a speech I can confidently. Speaking comes easy.

Late libra ASC, sextile uranus. Opposite jupiter.
House 1 has pluto. House 1 ruler falls in house 7.

I can do it with confidence if I'm drunk, or even a little bit tipsy.

Otherwise I'm rather shy. I usually let my music do the talking on stage, I'm not really good at verbal communication with audiences (wish I could overcome this). I'm good one-on-one though. I'm Libra Asc almost cusping Scorpio.

My sister is very good at public speaking although more reserved off stage. She has Aquarius Asc conjunct Mercury, which may have something to do with it.

I feel anxious before doing it, but it always goes well and I tend to relax as I speak.
Usually I don't do much preparation, unless the topic requires some research ahead to mention certain details.
I also speak naturally without reading a paper.

It's a lot easier if it's requested of me as a favour or people are depending on me. If it's for myself, I find it a bit more difficult. I tend to wing it, as I love improvising but if I prepare, I'm very confident. Virgo asc.

Edit, I forgot the aspects, sorry!

I love the replies and I can definitely relate to most of you guys!

In my opinion, I hate presentations. I'm often shy and shaky when I talk in front of a bunch of people. I feel as if people are making jokes in the back about me etc., but my public speaking skills are much better when I KNOW what I'm talking about.

If I were to give a presentation on Astrology, it would be crystal clear and you would get a lot from what I'm saying.

As said above by me and others, when you know your stuff, you can generally give a presentation on it without feeling nervous and shaky.

I have a lot of harsh aspects to my ASC, but I'm surviving lol:

As someone who stutters, I always wondered why "fluent" people would get nervous public speaking. You all seem to have it so much easier than I do haha! I mean seriously, when I'm really tired or stressed or nervous I can barely get my words out. I always told myself as a kid that if I didn't stutter I wouldn't mind doing presentations. However I know that public speaking is more of a fear to people than death.

As for me, surprisingly, I don't get that nervous speaking publicly. There is some dread in the beginning but nothing crippling. I am a Pisces sun and moon with Leo rising. I have sun conjunct Mercury at 1', so maybe that's why?
