Depends if I want to "talk" to them or not. I like talking if they have a nice voice or are amusing/interesting to talk to. Texting if I don't mind carrying on a conversation while already engaged in something else. I don't understand people who only ever text when it would take a quarter as long to hold an actual verbal conversation though. Virgo Sun and Mercury - communication is key for me. IP: Logged |

I'm a texter! Partly because I often just need to get information across and I'm busy but partly because I talk a lot I prefer to arrange a coffee with a friend or a time and date if its a phone call so we can chat for hours! Actually, if I'm honest there maybe a control issue there..only talking when I want...oh dear I'm Libra, Virgo Asc. I have scorpio in my 3rd. .so pluto as ruler? (Sorry, still learning..I get confused with rulers..I get confused with everything! Lol ) IP: Logged |

^ Pluto is then the ruler of your 3H, indeed. And yes, it could give a "controlling" tendency to your way of communicating. But then again, that'd make everyone a little controlling, wouldn't it? It's normal not to want to talk when we don't want to talk. --- I'm more into texting, unless there is a lot to say (then I prefer face to face conversations). I find it much easier to express myself "indirectly" (i.e. writing); however I don't really mind short phone conversations for practical reasons (to fix an appointment for example). But long convos on the phone - no. I don't like feeling like I have to keep the other person "entertained" or "busy" with my words; and besides, I have other things to do than talk to someone on the phone. I rarely ever call someone. If I do it's because I'm supposed to be meeting them in person and am looking for directions or something. I prefer texting.Aqua stellium/Merc in Aqua IP: Logged |

Don't you texters ever just want to talk long into the night with someone you're close to? Verbally I mean.Like the old days. With texting (friends/lovers), you never pick up the nuance or the tone of what they're saying. I mean, they could be texting you all lovey-dovey stuff but watching a football match or doing something else. Texting is deceptive. IP: Logged |

Texting..always have, always will. Been messing with computers since 6/7 (IBM..commodore 64 ..Aol 3.0 etc lol). Been on the Internet since 1995.Virgo Sun Aqua Rising Cancer Moon Mercury in Virgo in 7th house conjunct Sun .. both square natal Saturn. Spanish is my first language, so when I was younger I was very shy learning English. I had an accent, and didn't like speaking too much in English. I don't own a cellphone - haven't had one since 2007. Don't care for one either. I'm homebound anyway. But yes, definitely prefer texting over the phone. I find talking on the phone boring. I can't multi-task. ------------------ “So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets." Texting.Gemini Sun Virgo Rising Mercury rules my chart Communication is SO important to me! I find texting so much easier especially because I can multitask and still communicate (while at work, doing chores, etc.) whereas phone conversations I find are very monopolizing. I could text all day every day! I also find I'm much more creative and witty when I write my responses as opposed to speaking them IP: Logged |

Nah. I find talking on the phone very boring and awkward. The whole disembodied voice thing really throws me. I did it a lot more when I was younger (like 20) but always sort of begrudgingly, like I had to. And then it became optional I do like talking for hours with my special someone, but I prefer cuddling while I do it.

Don't get me wrong..love doing the long calls but in general it's text..I like to give all my attention to someone when chatting but just haven't the time on a daily basis.

Good point, it's probably because I have alot to do and need to prioritise my time over chatting..plus when I start, I find it hard to stop IP: Logged |

That just seems like swapping one thing for another. Maybe we've lost the art of conversation. When I talk to someone, I want to give them my undivided attention, I find it insulting "fitting" them into my daily routine and would feel the same if that's what they do with me. To me that's not really communication. Soz, I'm old school. Actually I use texting for info (eg directions, times of appointments) rather than personal communication. IP: Logged |

50. Don't get me wrong I love technology and have been told I'm pretty good with I.T. I dunno. I just find it weird people prefer to text conversations than talk. I was in a band in America and I walked in to a rehearsal at someone's house and everyone in the band was sitting at the dinner table texting other people on their phones. Not even talking to each other. It just looked bizarre and I had to laugh. And one good musician friend very rarely would talk to me on the phone, even though I know he really liked me. It was always text. I like to vibe off people, listen to their voices and joke about. You can't really do that with text in the same way you can in real time. I'm not here to change people's habits if that's what you think, just saying what I think. IP: Logged |

There is definitely a generational schizm on this issue. My mom will text sometimes, but she definitely prefers to use the phone (and will gab for hours). Whereas the millennials mostly prefer texting.IP: Logged |

Cant we meet and talk over a cup of coffee? Or is it asking for too much? Sad I wasnt given that option. I tend to loose the gist of the matter when I'm texting... plus its more or less like a waiting game. For me eye contact, body language, the way some one smiles, a hug, when you lean close to whisper something to me, the way you smell, etc... mean sooo much more than all those cute smileys you are gonna use in a whatsapp conversation. Im sure I wont remember those smileys tomorrow however hard I try. I dont care for texting at all. So yeah a phone call that would lead to a meet is cool : )Im a Gemini Sun, Leo moon and Cancer Rising!!! IP: Logged |

Of course I always prefer to talk in person, nothing can compare...but between phone or texting I prefer texting although it is nice to hear some voices over the phone sometimes... You know when you have feelings for somebody. IP: Logged |
