You're having a "thing" with a guy and then he texts you out of the blue and you end up reading more into it than there actually is. Whereas a phone call would tell you so much more. A guy I really liked in America was being a bit vague and non-committal, not responding to texts immediately or even for days. Then I did a trip out of town to San Diego. He texted me when I arrived there saying "how's San Diego?" and I was thinking, "ooh maybe he misses me/cares about my safety". It's more likely he was texting four or five women in a row! So your imagination starts to make up things that are simply not there. A phone conversation would tell me a lot more about how he felt than a text - texts often leave you hanging. IP: Logged

As a rule of thumb texting is useful for a quick note (to pick something up at the store when you're there, for example, or to give a quick "held up, will be late") but not to bond with or be a bother with constant digital cards (because they're about as superficial as Hallmark while people getting their feelings hurt if they don't get as many back as they give out and that's not a game I'm willing to play, especially as it's so incredibly easy to be fake while texting, even say "I love only you" while making out with someone else!). Phone is for more in depth conversation but I still don't like to talk too long that way (but better than texting because at least I get sound). IP: Logged

I think it may have a bit to do with my Mercury in Gemini.. I usually have too hard of a time saying what it is I am feeling/thinking. Sometimes I'll be talking to someone, and I'll go silent.. Most the time, people think it is because I am bored, but really, it is just.. There is so much going on in my mind that I don't really don't know how to articulate it. (Possibly something to do with Mars Quintile Mercury..) Then again, sometimes I am just blank. LMAO Also, being someone who has an 8th house Sun, and quite a few Pluto aspects.. I tend to rather not talk unless I have to (unless it is an especially beneficial conversation.. I hate superficial conversations and gossip. However, I DO like talking about how the other person is doing and what is going on in their life. When I ask 'How are you?' I'm not the person to ask just to have something to talk about.. Generally, I am asking because I am genuinely interested). That may have a bit to do with my Saturn placements too.. Then again.. Sometimes I feel some people with a heavy Pluto have so much going on emotionally that they have a hard time expressing their emotions merely with words. Not really sure though. So.. Generally..? I absolutely despise talking over the phone and if I do I end up sounding bored or irritated which sometimes I can become over the phone :/ Texting allows me to think properly and im mucn moe witty and polite aha. You get to hear their reaction, talk freely and their is real emotion in their voice! I don't get people who are 'too scared' to talk on the phone, you'll have to do it sometime in your life; and there is no pressure with friends/family, so why?? Alot of girls I meet are mostly too nervous to speak on the phone; i don't really understand it, i'm a talkative person myself so it's not like i'm going to plot against you lol.
