Are different placements or aspects prone to artistic traits?
by example we know leo is artistic, 5th house is expression of self , but by example how do we know if its gonna be expressed in writing , painting or singing etc etc?

Do you think 12th house is artistic?

These are just my thoughts combined from what I've read/seen in the past.

Edit

Mars--Passion, high energy, force

Taurus--Singing, writing, creative in general
Libra--Appreciation for beauty, creative
Venus--Beauty

Gemini--Writing, speaking
Virgo--Precision and accuracy, perfection, small details
Mercury--Same as Gemini
3rd House--Same as Gemini

Cancer
Moon--Your emotions (art usually taps into our feelings, right?), your intuition
4th House--Your roots, your home (depending on what you do, you may use this as inspiration or a valuable resource)

Leo--Need for attention, flare for the dramatic, theater, acting, the visual arts
Sun--Need for self-expression
5th House--Creativity

Jupiter--Luck, optimism (you need that when you create), high energy

Saturn--Discipline, follow through (how else would you actually manifest your art!), concentration, dedication

11th House--Where you share/show your art with others

Pisces--Painting?, Poetry?, Daydreaming
Neptune--Mysticism, imagination
12th House--Your deepest subconscious (you may tap into that when you create), where you lost yourself in your art

The Quintile series of aspects (360 degrees/5, Leo's number), which includes the decile, quintile, tre-decile, and bi-quintile, are indicative of special skills and talents that can lend themselves to all fields (the arts, sciences, athletics, etc.). The nature of these aspects will depend on the planets and signs involved.

I used to think that art tied into the 12th. In a way, it does, but being heavy 12th myself. I don't think it does. Imagination, very very much, but it seems blocked to go anywhere beyond that.

Time and time again the most artistic and creative people that I've known have all been Pisces suns. Just, lots of them. They seem to be able to take imagination and turn it into reality.

Thank you guys

NoireAries- My question was very vague and your answer very detailed , i started questioning that to myself since lately ive felt this zealous desire to express my emotions , i personally find singing as the most beautiful way to do so , i understand theres writing and painting and many more but singing for me is precious incomparable. must be no surprise since i have sun in leo tough i think writing would be more adept to me since mercury in 5th house ,mercury is my 5th house(gemini) ruler too .

im prominent on 12th house energy too 3 planets there. Thank you so much for your answer

FreeLeon:
actually yeah! after i posted the thread i tried searching about creativity and artists astrology wise, they mentioned those aspects ,i realized i have exact Venus(7th house) Quintile pluto (9th house)
but i would think that develops more in a personal way , as in learning from relationships in a 9th house kind of way as in how we are meant to experience relationships and learn from them but i dont see that as a talent lol

DopGang:
You know, i share your tougths im a bit heavy on 12th energy too , i have a lot of tougths , i daydream A LOT,but personally ive never been able to produce anything out of it , just tougths wich i sometimes share with people , or maybe even some very short writings

Personally.. I think some of the most important planets to look at are Neptune, Venus, Mercury, and possibly even Saturn (especially if there is a heavy Neptune influence outside of it..)

I've actually seen a few artists with pretty strong Saturns in their charts.. At least, when in combination with one of the planets I mentioned above. I think Saturn is sometimes needed to really anchor those thoughts down and turn them into something visible/tangible/able to be used..

I am dying to know what my quintiles and biquintiles lend to. I know there's something artistic there but I don't know if i've found it yet. I dance and do photography but there has to be something more to it.

Gemini Sun, Scorpio ASC, Gemini Mercury, Virgo Moon, Leo Mars, Scorpio Uranus

Sun Quintile Moon
Moon Quintile Mercury
Mercury Quintile Mars
Sun Biquintile Uranus
Moon Quintile Uranus
Mercury Biquintile Uranus
Mars Quintile Uranus
ASC Biquintile Sun
ASC Quintile Moon

??

edit: in your case Jimmy, I do believe that heavy 12th house is indicative of artistic talent

Readingthestars95 : thats an interesting way of seeing it , in that way lets hope my saturn in pisces wich is not very disciplined cause of the sign it is can turn all the imagination and daydreams into something :/

EmGem: Woha you actually have a lot of biquintiles/quintiles ,thats great that you dance and do photography im always tempted to join dancing classes ,it would be a good way to relieve stress , wich style do you do btw? of dancing

bansheequeen: you know i think youre very right, i was looking for some artist charts and they do have kind of earthy charts, taking in mind what NoireAries said about Taurus being singing/writing and creative in general , Sam smith has very prominent Taurus in his chart and somewhat capricorn too

Lol. I thought I was being vague b/c your question seemed to be asking what placements/aspects equal a specific artistic talent, but you're welcome. I think all the signs and planets and aspects can indicate artistic abilities in different ways.

But what I listed seemed to be the most common, perhaps with the exception of Virgo which I added only because Mercury co-rules that sign too.

But anyway, someone did say that Saturn can show discipline and makes one actually produce one's art. I did see that too. Saturn grounds a person in reality. The 12th house sort of the does the opposite. I don't think the house is not creative; I just think it makes us play and wonder too much without making whatever we're thinking come to life. Aspects to Neptune and the sign Pisces sort of has this effect too.

I would also throw Mars as a creative planet in even though many use it to indicate sports skills. Mars gives you your drive and passion.

I have saturn in the 12th (conjunct asc), pisces sun, Leo asc and venus & mercury in the 7th I wouldn't say I'm overly artistic but definitely creative. I do abstract art using mixed media but I probably couldn't do a realistic portrait to save myself. I like scrapbooking and making jewellery and generally love and appreciate most forms of art.

I feel like youd need a strong mars to be a dancer! Anyone can just shake it, but to really learn the moves!

I've actually heard Mars-Neptune aspects are especially good for dancing.

Oh, I can definitely relate to this. I don't have many Neptune aspects but it squares my Sun which is in the 12th along with Saturn AND Venus. But I think another problem for me is wanting everything to be perfect and wanting to know everything in detail so I just get stuck in the planning process and never progress. I guess I can thank my Mars r in Virgo for that. It's a shame, too, because it's in the 5th house.

Also, I've usually seen Mars-Mercury aspects being very good for activities that require the mind and body being in accordance like dancing. Again, most people use it to indicate a natural affinity for sports, but dancing can a sport too, right?

I think this might be true. I have Mars opposition Neptune (orb 3°) and I've always had talent for dancing, without any sort of training. I've never seen myself doing it, but I've been told that I'm very sensual when I dance. Also I've never consider it doing it as a job, but when I go clubbing, I go more for the excitement of dancing, and much less for socializing.

i'm a dancer..i think for dancing you need to have strong mars, saturn, mercury and also moon for the emotions and some neptune,12th house..
i have mars trine neptune,mars/neptune is about the artistic side of dance and it's excellent for choreographers
i also heard as others said mars/mercury is great for the athletic ability and also gives a good sense of rhythm(moon gives that too)..mercury/saturn,mars/saturn is great for discipline
pisces/neptune/12th house because they rule the feet

I have Neptune, Uranus and Saturn in my 12th house opposing my Venus in Cancer in the 6th house. I also have Jupiter in Cancer my 6th house with Venus.

My 4th house Mars in Taurus trines my 12th house neptune/uranus and sextiles my 6th house venus. It Opposes my 10th house Pluto in Scorpio and that trines my 6th house venus and sextiles my 12th house neptune/uranus. It all together forms a "mystic rectangle" or Envelope.

I can say that I'm very creative and insightful with my writing, music and other crafts I used to do since childhood. And my friends tell me I'm very gifted. But creative people don't like to call themselves creative lol. I actually avoid bragging about my work, at times i feel ashamed of it.

It can be.

I have a 12th house stellium (sun, merc, venus, uranus, neptune). Chart ruler is saturn in the 1st. I paint/draw, hand craft, wood work...etc... My dreams are very colourful. I bring them to life by painting or writing.

I do children picture books and illustrations as a side job. So yeah.

I can't dance or sing however. Singing is more like taurus/gemini's forte.

I'm a Pisces sun and moon and Leo rising. I love art, it's such a great way to relax. I have painted and drawn for as long as I can remember. I love photography as well. I studied graphic design in college and I recently started playing guitar. I also love music and creative writing.

One of my good friends is a Virgo with his sun in his 5th house (I've read that sun in 5th house brings creativity). He is a photographer by profession. We have so much fun together because we are on that same wavelength with an artist's personality. He loves music as well and we share songs back and forth what to listen to.

Another good friend of mine is a Pisces. He is really into music like me. He plays bass and has helped me learn guitar. He's not artistic but he's pretty good with music. He's an Aquarius rising so he is a little off beat as is, which I think all artists are.

I have another Pisces friend who majored in piano. He loves music also. While he isn't artistic he is creative.
