I have been feeling so sad lately.

My daughter has Moon opposite Saturn in her natal. I have read that this represents me as a no good mother to her.

I feel like so terrible for her

It isn`t that bad though. Tbh the "worst" i`ve seen people with moon–saturn aspects experience from their mom is that she might have a tendency to try to protect them by restricting them, teaching them responsibilities early on and isn`t the most affectionate. And sometimes it can just mean that the mom is very business minded and can be too wrapped up in her work etc. I know a guy with a cap moon conj saturn and his mom is a huge workaholic.

Maybe the moon is representative of you and Saturn is representative of her father - the opposition being the nature of your guys' relationship at her birth?

I don't know.

I do feel like I can be pretty restrictive towards her and probably said no too much. I feel like I have not been as emotional towards her like I should be.

I do work full time, but have four and three days off a week. I was a stay at home with her for two years when she was younger, but her father dos not help at all so it's up to me to provide.

Anyways, I'm just scared that in the future she will look at me as being cold and not want anything to do with me

Well, I have aspects something along that line as well, actually much worse, which also made me go through a lot of domestic violence
But as more and more time flies by, it becomes more and more evident that mother's love is the one and only true unconditional love
I gaurantee that deep inside she knows this too and such fact will become more and more evident to her with time as well. I gaurantee this

I don't want to seem too straight-forward but i think you're taking it a little too far. Yes natal aspects are real, but that doesn't mean they will be handled in the way you expect them. Who's to say you will be a terrible mother? C'mon now......

Lots of people have harsh moon aspects and they are well with their mother. Same goes for Sun, Saturn and etc..

Just the fact that you care enough to think about this and stress over it says your an amazing mom!
If you feel your to rigid then practice being more emotionally expressive with her...you can change this and help the energy be expressed in another way.

What do you mean by 'no good'? It can mean many things.

Perhaps she feels that you are rather reserved or come across cold emotionally...somewhat? Ask her, may be not directly but listening to her wishes etc Then you could put more effort in how to relate/communicate with her.

Moon (mum) opp. Saturn (dad) could also mean, you are divorced?

@koniucha

I have a friend with Saturn square Moon natal. (The square being even more difficult than your daughters opposition) He is 34yo and is very close with his mother. They love each other very much and spend lots of time together, get along very well. Don't forget not to look at one aspect individually and get caught up in it's singular definition. It is just one part of a whole chart and there may be other easier softer aspects balancing this out. Also... There are many ways for any aspect to play out, not always as simple as a textbook definition. We are not defined by our natal aspects-we all have Free Will <3

Please, don't feel terrible. Her chart is her challenge. Often people with Moon-Saturn stressed aspects are simply in a lifetime of challenge to find balance between what 'I need' and what 'I can achieve.' These aspects are some of the ones that can drive people to achieve great things. So long as she learns to stay in touch with her own needs and gets support from you, there is no problem.

I think you would have been even more upset if she had Moon sq Venus. i.e. mother doesn't love daughter... which is not the case for you.

I think Moon opp. Saturn is describing parents situation.

Kannon McAfee gave you another angle on it and perhaps you could support her in a way that she can have a balanced life. She will thank you for it.

Are you (or were you) at odds with the grandparents?
Moon -> Mother
Saturn -> Grandparents

Both grandparents on her dad's side have passed away. Her and I never met them.

We both have a good relationship with my parents and see them often. My mom is staying at our house this week in fact.

Thank you everyone for listening and commenting. It has helped a lot.

I should also mention that personally, I have Moon square Pluto, so I can be emotionally crazy.

Moon-saturn difficult aspects tend to indicate divorce of parents, not hard feelings towards the mother.

You can't decide how she feels even when you've done your best. That's why natal chart is the subjective view of the native, not the objective experience.

That's why I hate astrology learnt on the internet. Hard aspects between the Sun or Moon and Saturn does not indicate a bad relationship between a parent and a child but how is the relationship between the parents. You said you never married the father of your daughter. That means there is no connection between you and him except your daughter. Has nothing to do with your relationship with your daughter. When a parent and child don't get along is because they have a karma that DOESN'T involve Saturn. Usually Sun and/or Moon in 12th house or connjuncting the SN and other bad aspects.

Looking at aspects you have to look at your own situation, the cookbook definitions don't always apply to your individual chart or situation.

I have Sun in 12th, and no my dad was not drunk, dead, or missing when I was born. He was right there outside the delivery room, he was the first person to talk to me and hold me. He was always there, providing for his family.

My father is a very intuitive and profound thinker, that is how I experienced him having Sun in the 12th house. Plus other traits, but I never identified with the missing father when you read about 12th house Suns.

The same with Moon square Saturn, this seems to be more related to how the person will deal with emotions than anything else...but some people have abusive mothers with this aspect and some have great mothers. Just looking at one aspect is not going to show how your kids really feel about you. The whole chart of your child is the transits occurring in your own chart when you had your baby.

I agree, I feel like I have let it get to me and consume me a bit. I am very emotional and it can get out of control rather quickly. One of the things a Moon sq. Pluto individual must work on.

I have Moon square Saturn.

Among other things I felt my mom wasn't there for me. I was forced to accept personal, emotional responsibility, and overall independence. You're on your own kid.

Now that I'm adult she's back with a new idea - I have great responsibilities I ought to tend to...her. She's suddenly a child with needs for attention, money....and it's my job to provide it. This instantly recalls all the nasty things she did to me growing up. My Saturn square Moon then flips - I become Saturn (cold, distant, uncaring, unforgiving).

I don't know what my contribution is to this thread. However I think you should bear in my that both sides of every aspect will be played out. While young she will play moon & you Saturn. At some point down the line the roles will reverse and you will become Moon & she Saturn. Now will be a good time to condition the Saturn in her.
