What placements in a chart would make you think someone is fit to be in a beauty pageant?I've examined a couple charts belonging to beauty queens and there is a dominance of Taurus and Libra influences. What else can you guys add? IP: Logged |

I'd look for the asteroid Aphrodite, where it sits. If it's conjunct sun, for example, it can grant great beauty (Monica Bellucci for example)

Strong venus influence. Hmm am not sure of anything else that might give a potential nor make someone care enough to do it other than venus, maybe strong leo/sun influence to? not sure. And also tbh beauty queens have a boring beauty to me they have that venus beauty that "simple pretty nothing special seen it a 100 times" kinda beauty. I don`t see anything neptunian plutonian uranuian jupirian etc about them whatsoever.IP: Logged |

Why not? I do mean to include when she's younger. All I have to go by is wikipedia but the only notable stuff that has to say is about her career as a fashion model and actress and that strikes me as someone both confident enough and willing to enter a beauty pageant (unless it would just kill her to lose). This isn't something I've paid attention to but one thing that seems to be the case is that many of the best looking men and women have significant placements in the 1st and/or 12th houses. Though perhaps I should add as a caveat that the two men I can think of with first house placements (one both 12th and 1st) who were beautiful looking to me were in the androgynous anime/boy band way...and one was a crossdresser who could also appear as a beautiful woman, enough to make other women jealous. (Also for what it's worth I'm saying they were beautiful, not that I was necessarily attracted to them.) IP: Logged |

But probably a trine or sextile, no? I have the opp and I'm not ugly, but not interesting appearance either :-D What about Lilith/Venus? Would it be crude sensuality or an haunting beauty? I wonder. IP: Logged |

The chart is about potential, not every chart configuration applies to everyone. But the potential is there in the chart if that person wants to partake in that area. Someone can have a lot of beauty pageant aspects but if the chart was never fated to go that route, than that area will not be used in that way but used in other creative ways. A lot of things come into play with beauty pageants -- genetics for one, motivation - because the beauty pageant circuit is intense and psychologically intense as women compare themselves to others in a one size fits all. People who use beauty as a goal and use it to compete, must have a strong motivation, because being judged superficially can be extremely difficult on the psyche. So there is a lot going on through the competitive side -- which would bring in the planet Mars.

Hmmm I said that because it just doesn't seem like something an intelligent person would normally do. And I see her as an intelligent person. IP: Logged |

I agree even at one point when younger I thought about modeling because I'm 5'11 but chose school because that's where I shine. IP: Logged |

Okay, I can follow that. And you reminded me of this vid that while a parody is some brilliant satire of what some beauty pageant contestants have said in answering questions (though none were ever asked if math should be taught in schools): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QBv2CFTSWU IP: Logged |

Thank you guys for the replies. It's interesting to know a Venus-Saturn would be one of the placements for a possible beauty queen. It would make sense because Saturn creates structure which makes Venus even more refined. Although, I was expecting other answers aside from Venus. Beauty pageants don't only judge by physical appearance, do they? I mean, there's still the question and answer portion and talent portion. I've seen quite a couple contestants fail miserably on the question and answer portion, and some can't even do their talents right IP: Logged |

Remember, we are talking about Beauty queens, not just beautiful women or models. Having a feminine rising signs like Libra, Taurus and Cancer would help. I also thought having Venus aspecting Neptune and/or Saturn would also help. i looked up and I found:Vanessa Williams (miss America) has Cancer rising. She also has Venus conjunct Saturn and square Neptune. Halle Berry (miss Ohio, and 1st runner up Miss USA): Taurus rising. Grand trine involving Venus, Saturn and Neptune. Sharon Stone (miss Crawford County, Penn): Venus square Neptune. Lucy Lawless (Miss New Zealand): Venus sextile Saturn. Ali Landry (Miss USA): Venus sextile Saturn Oprah Winfrey (Miss Black Tennessee): Venus square Saturn Aishwaria Rai (Miss World): Libra rising. Pluto on ascendant Diane Sawyer (miss America Jr): Venus quincunx Saturn Raquel Welch (Miss San Diego): Venus sextile Neptune Kelly Hu (Miss Teen USA) Venus sextile Neptune

Oh I know the topic and btw I have cancer rising but still not interested in that stuff. The placements associated with the potential is interesting especially venus saturn. IP: Logged |

I read that wrong. I thought the question was what placement would make someone think (of themselves) to be fit to enter a beauty pageant (regardless of beauty since plenty view themselves different than from everyone else), rather than what would be good placements to have if you wanted to and was an exploration of what in astrology encouraged one to think of one's own appearances positively or negatively (which I believe a few other threads were doing at the time this thread got started). I don't think astrology has much to do with beauty save in trivial ways. If anything I'd want to look at the placements of the actual judges and then compare them to the contestants (and also transits) just to see which of the contestants would be the most likely to make the most positive impression on them. There is a woman born the same day as me that was a beauty queen and competed in Ms. Universe. She's a Scorpio Sun with Venus conjunct Saturn and Jupiter in Libra. I don't know her birth time, but her Moon is also in Libra. She doesn't fit my image of a typical beauty queen. I think that they usually have a generic beauty, and if you took away the big hair and heavy stage makeup, they would be pretty plain looking. She is very beautiful, and still models in her mid 30's. I agree with prominent Libra or Taurus placements, and Venus/Saturn aspects too. I have noticed a lot of Venus/Saturn women seem to never age. I know of 2 other women that also have my same chart. One is a soap opera actress and the other is a former Playboy model. I got a good laugh out of that. I wish I knew all of their birth times to see what house their Libra stellium falls in. Mine is in the 8th and includes a tight Moon/Pluto conjunction. It's surprising to see people with my same placements, and how the energies manifest differently. I use that same 5 planet Libra stellium as an interior designer. I wouldn't be caught dead in a pageant, and to act in soap operas would be hell on earth for me. I've been offered modeling gigs by a modeling scout and a photographer, but I didn't do them. I considered it, but I thought the men that approached me were pretty sleazy, so I turned down their offers. They were both very persistent, which made me more suspicious of their true motives.
