Looked up my Pullen Chart today and noticed some things. I always wanted to know what my dominant planet, and house was. I'm an Aquarius rising so Capricorn sits in my 12th. So does that mean that my dominant house is really my 12th? And Look at Venus and Pluto IP: Logged |

Are there a lot of planets in your 12th or saturn aspects? Asking because my dominant sign (according to pullen) looks like it correlates to a stellium I have as well as aspects from that planet's ruler..IP: Logged |

Personally, I say that there is a lot that programs can't really take into consideration.. And, well, the way it is done varies from program to program. Just because it is done by a program... Done one specific way.. Does not necessarily mean it is the most efficient way it could be done. There are a lot of different ways of looking at this subject.. Personally, I would say the dominants in my chart are Saturn, Pluto and Neptune.. But, I know that not only would most programs probably not agree with me, neither would every astrologer. The thing is, I personally look at dominants in a much more cumulative and conglomerate way.. Instead of dividing the signs/houses/signs, I put them all together to make my decision as to a dominant planet.. Rather than a dominant sign and a dominant planet. I also take into account midpoints, declinations, and the draconic. Not to say that I am without a doubt correct, of course. My way of looking at it is only one perspective out of many. IP: Logged |

I believe to determine the dominant planets is the aspects it makes to the ASC and the aspects to each other. IP: Logged |

Hmmm.. It isn't that you shouldn't take it seriously. xD.. I'm just saying, think about it as another perspective. Think about it for awhile. Do these resonate with you? How so? Are there some things you don't agree with? Why? I guess, just maybe keep it in the back of your mind, and observe to see if it makes sense to you over time. In some ways, it may. In some ways, it may not. What I'm trying to say is that, yes, there may be a certain validity to it.. But, that is partly something you are going to have to ponder over time. Don't let a machine tell you how you feel. xD IP: Logged |

it could be the number of aspects that venus and pluto make that makes them dominate. i think that's how these programs calculate it. by how many times a particular planet aspects other planets.

Sun, Venus, Pluto, Moon, Mars, and NN makes those aspects. NN, Mars and Venus make the tightest connection IP: Logged |

Very true! I just want to know what is what in my life. I believe i am definitely heavily influenced by my 12th house and that it plays the central theme in my life. But as for dominant planets I'm not sure. Sometimes I do feel it is Pluto. Sometimes Jupiter IP: Logged |

Yeah! Jupiter kept coming to mind for me too! I haven't seen your chart though, so I wasn't sure how it is aspected.

Based on the chart, wouldn't it be Venus as your dominant planet and Pluto coming in second?Venusian + Plutonian? IP: Logged |

I'm not sure lol. Did you look at the Pullen or the Natal chart? And if you looked at the natal, how did you come up with this conclusion? IP: Logged |

Thank you very much! Its tough because many people misjudge me and see me as something that I'm not. I don't understand why though But from looking at my Natal. Do you see the Plutonian and Venusian influences the pollen is describing? Im trying to understand why those two planets are number 1 IP: Logged |

Hello again NYCDodger, I'm having trouble reading the Astrotheme chart. (too tiny)I can answer some of your questions like why is Pluto and Venus so prominent. Your Natal Pluto is home in Scorpio, this is a very strong placement. This correlates to your Aquarius Ascendant because Pluto is exalted in Aquarius. Your Pluto in Scorpio makes a strong trine to your natal Venus in Cancer. Your Venus in Cancer is in Mutual Reception with your Moon in Libra. (Venus rules in Libra and Cancer rules the Moon) Here is where I can't see, is your MC in Sag? It looks like Pluto is in the 10th house but that can't be if Sag is on the MC. A tenth house placement for Pluto would put it at the top of your chart. Another strong placement. more later. ------------------ "There ain't no revolution, only evolution, but every time I'm in Georgia I 'eat a peach' for peace." Duane Allman IP: Logged |

^^ Yep, MC is at 0 degrees Sag. It looks like he is using the whole-house system which DOES make it possible for the MC to be in a different house than the 10th. Hmmm.. I also agree about the chart though.. I have also had a bit of a hard time reading it. I'm used to the other chart I usually see brought from Astrodienst.. If you are able, would you also be willing to post your Draconic NYCdodger? I still have Jupiter come to mind.. But.. I'm not entirely certain why. Maybe because it is being exalted. I'm not sure. Well, on top of that, the ruler of your Jupiter-sign (Cancer) IS in the 9th house.. So... That may be something. IP: Logged |

Yes my MC is in 0 degree Sag and my Lilith is 29 degree Scorp. I follow the whole house system Ms. Linda I can definitely see now why my Pluto is so prominent being that it stands at the top of my chart and touches my ASC. My Venus Quincunxes my ASC as well. Is there such a thing as a dominant house? If so would you say mine is the 12th? IP: Logged |
