Exactly what Belage said. Attraction to and attracting people is a different thing. For a real mate/husband definitely 7th house/ ruler of 7th, planets in 7th. We all have our anima and animus and will project when we 'fall' in love but when that fades we are faced with reality. It is the road to ourselves. Anima/animus are, what I have learned venus and mars. I just googled some and liked this article http://shadowdance.com/is-it-love-or-is-it-projection/4581115816 But Mars to me doesn't cut it. My case: 7th Pisces ruler Neptune in 3rd. I married a Gemini with his sun in 12th and Mars in Pisces. I am attracted to people with strong 12th houses, not really Pisces suns though. That might be that I am not ready for that yet? Funny thing is, is that my north node is also in Pisces. All the attractions showed me they are laid back, tolerant and the like and not so high strung as I am. I need it! Mars in Cancer in 10th house. My husband has Cancer Ascendant/Venus and Mercury in Cancer and his Saturn is conjunct his Sun. But it's not what I find attractive perse. What I need? YES! Well the Saturn that is .. and probably the feminine Cancer too as I am frequently still too masculine. Husband vice versa. 5th house ruler is Saturn and is positioned in 9th house. I have been in love (many times) with foreigners and a many were Sag or Asc, Sag (all with strong 12th houses ). Husband has Moon in Sag. I agree the 8th house definitely shows what I find attractive or sexually attractive. Very very often I find men with their moon, venus or mars in my 8th house (Aries) very appealing. I always instantly KNOW when I see them that their personal planets fall there. Rebeca Eigen writes this about the 7th house: http://shadowdance.com/the-7th-house/4581072714 IP: Logged |

Hahaha love it! So just to clarify something, if someone has sag on their 8th house cusp, will they be attracted to me if my Venus is in the 9th?!

Its all combined really- regardless of sex.Sun- expression. How I express myself and "show" my personality to attract others to me. Venus- Attitude towards love and affection. Venus is mostly about pleasure, sensuality and gratification. Moon-What we expect from another. How we want the other to treat us and what we "interpret" as being love and affection. Mars- The spirit of the individual. The energy they project externally-many times without even saying a word. Mercury- Set beliefs about the self, standards and requirements for mutual reception(not necessarily verbal communication but also non-verbal). The ability to "recognize" likeness with another.

i love this. It shows that someone can be attracted to the mars energy regardless of their sex if they have that attraction factor in their natal. e.g. man's leo moon attracted to woman's leo mars.

My 7th house sign (Virgo) attracted me for partners and friends a lot when I was 18. I completed my karma with them (Vertex in Virgo). My Mars sign (Libra) never attracted me at all. I find Libra men wonderful just for friends, nothing more. Since my first relationship I always fell for Plutonian-Saturnian-Saggi people with a dreamy-artistic vibe (Pisces AC). My 8th and 12th house are really strong, MC, Juno, POF and Neptune in Saggi, so in my opinion the strongest house counts. The rest just give a color...IP: Logged |

Absolutely. I think what we try to do so often, is think of the energies as individuals(human nature really). But they really work as a clump; some more subtle than others. And they each contribute in making the individual unique and thus the attraction to/from others is "one of a kind". In your example, the man(Leo Moon) may feel "loved" or "safe to feel" in the presence of the Leo Mars female-even without her saying/doing anything. Things get a little complicated if her Venus is in Virgo. As she may not respond timeously to his advances and give him the impression that she is not available/not interested. Earth Venus signs tend to have a lot of personal restraints when it comes to attraction/succumbing to affection. They tend to have their wits about them and resist emotional responses that have them behave hastily-no matter how much they want it. This will however also depend on whether or not Pluto/Mars/Neptune are in the mix. Then a lot can change. Things may be even trickier if his Sun is in Cancer(expression) and his way of attracting her or expressing himself, is through emotional connection. He may feel that he somehow irritates her or she is impassive. There is just so much that happens in between, its a miracle really when love happens at all. That's is why I celebrate it, when it does. ah so beautifully said Aries! there's so much more to it really.in my case, I am cancer venus/gemini sun + scoprio asc, he is aries sun+venus/taurus asc (pluto on dsc), our moons conjunct by 2d (out of sign). His moon is in the 4th so I'm thinking he is used to cancer energy/attracts it? I think my scorpio asc attracts him too (plus my sun in the 8th), not only because of his dsc but also because it is partially ruled by mars and might be similar in his attraction to aries venus. My mars also conjuncts my moon which helps.
