I listen to Rick Levine's Planet Pulse almost every day. It's like an itinerary of what the day will be like, energy-wise. So, when I feel really crummy for "no reason" and learn that the transits are predicting as much-- that most people will be sharing in that feeling-- it helps me accept it, and it helps me feel connected to humanity in general.

Astrology is also a fun toy, as when I draw up event charts and see the transiting ASC in a very appropriate place (say, a person "freaks out" when tr ASC is conjunct their Uranus, or conjunct the transiting moon in Aries, or whatever.) Asteroids are super fun, it's seriously mind-blowing how that works. And sometimes when I meet people their placements start to make themselves obvious, and it's gratifying when I learn their birthday and see my impressions confirmed or explained.

I do look up people's charts quite a bit, and actually regret NOT looking up charts for others...it would have helped so much, if I had this tool all my life. Understanding a person's placements and our synastry helps me interact with them more consciously. And it helps me realize there may be impediments along the way, so I can let things be.

So astrology gives me: a sense of connection to the universe; a sense of peace/acceptance about the way things are; a tool for relating with people; a form of entertainment; an ideology and value system with which I can forge friendships (as I've done here. ) Also, learning builds brain cells.

I judge people so much it's terrible like if they have a lot of fire I will see them as a big pictured type of person who will probably be very successful earth likes predictability and I should probably spices their life up because they won't do it on their own etc

But mostly I Look to see their major chart element so I can judge them on whether they will be a perfect spouse for me!

The love of my life who is no longer the love of my life has a perfect chart compatible to mine and when I found out after our relationship ended I was like WOW IT ALL MAKES SENSE

Do you use it for financial gain? Yes.

Prescreening of potential partners? No. I didn't do this because I didn't want it to affect the way I viewed them. I liked to just let things unfurl on their own. Plus I felt like doing so would violate their privacy - not something I'd want to do to people that I genuinely like.

I only check natals and synastry n whatnot in an established relationship.

Do you check your transits regularly? Yes.

Has it helped you in any way?

Well I use it for self-understanding. It also provides useful information for making decisions and planning life goals. Composite and synastry help to understand my relationship.

Plus it's something fun to talk about with my s.o.

I haven't used astrology to gain money, that's beyond my skill level. Ditto for medical astrology. I don't use horary yet. I'm open to all kinds of novel ways of approaching and using astrology, so long as the intention is positive, the charts are convincing, and everything is in balance, insofar as I can achieve that.

Totally get what you mean about acceptance and letting things be. I have also found this through astrology.

For me, I would have to say I use it to connect with people. Friends will ask me to look up their charts and their potential partners charts. We laugh and have fun with it. Talk about what kind of sex they would be into, silly things, etc.

Sometimes it will surprise me by how meaningful it is to people though... For example, I wrote out a birth chart for a friend and forgot about it. A few days later he told me he'd just asked for a sign from the universe/ God to help him get through what he'd been struggling with and he opened the birth chart I wrote for him and he said he connected to it on every level and started crying. That was very special to me that I could help him in that way.

I love stories like that.

And I'm so glad I can help people, too. I wish I had more skill with it, but even being able to observe and talk about simple numbers, cut and dry facts, can help people understand, gain perspective and heal from it. My one friend is attached to a man whose ASC is conjunct her IC exactly, and his sun is conjunct her NN. They have other conjunctions as well. It's no wonder this feels so significant! They are an unconventional match, and face judgment for it, but in astrology, they make perfect sense.

If nothing else it reminds me how we can be wired so differently. Even though I tend to look at people through "an author's eyes" (trying to get their story, traits, and perspective, which also goes a long way from keeping me shunning those who "don't vibe" with me--still have plenty who shun me, of course--and thus not making the all too common mistake that my particular "vibe" is the standard one which is almost inevitable when it's the only people of the same mind/vibe you're surrounded by) I can still make the all too common mistake of assuming they're wired similar to me (just as everyone else seems to do). By taking a moment to try to understand what it is others want (as opposed to "what I'd want if I was in their shoes") then that usually works out well.
