Eat lean protein (protein burns more calories) with plenty of fruits and veggies. Avoid fruit juice (or at least dilute it). Drink plenty of water. In fact, drink one cup of water before every meal. Eat sweets no more than once per week. You don't want to permanently eliminate your favorite foods otherwise you'll end up binging on junk food at some point, which defeats the purpose of a diet. You need to be able to maintain your diet over a lifetime, not just for a couple of weeks. This won't be possible, if you don't allow yourself one "cheat" day a week and enjoy your favorite foods with moderation, of course.

Yes, Halle Berry does have a great body, but keep in mind that we are all predisposed to having certain body types. A woman who is apple-shaped, for example, will never achieve the hourglass body that Halle Berry has no matter how physically fit she becomes. You will still have an awesome body by working out and eating right, so don't worry!

For exercise, simply choose something you enjoy otherwise exercising will be a chore. Run, swim, hike, play sports, etc….whatever you like doing. Balance your cardiovascular workouts with some weight training (minimum 3 times per week). Eat something high in protein after a workout in order to promote muscle recovery.

This works for me and I am very lean/muscular (keep in mind that I have been very active with soccer, running and lots of horse riding since I was 10 years old so that's 28 years worth of REGULAR exercise!)

-I fast 24-36 hr slots once per week (no food at all-just black coffee and water)
-I walk briskly 4-5 days a week between 5-10 miles. Have stopped going to the gym altogether. My body just stopped responding to it.
-I never drink soda and I do not eat any form of candy.
-I eat whatever I want in small doses.
-I don't drink alcohol. I used to-a lot- and that really revved up my hunger so I overate.

I think one needs to look at genetics too! My parents are very slim!!

p.s. I am not a Virgo Moon nor Venus but I am a Virgo Asc, Mars.
-I drink lots of green tea and water.

Agreed!!

I follow this kind of diet plus I make sure 4 days a week I only eat 1500 calories or under the rest of the week I don't count calories...little changes that you can make permanent are much more effective than a drastic diet that is just a temporary change.
Never drunk calories, your body does not process these as food and you will still want to eat the same amount of calories with or without the calories from the drink, they are just xtra calories no matter what.
I did cross fit and was amazed how quickly my body changed but that's a tough workout!!

Dreaminess, you don't need to diet. You are stunning and super sexy!

I wrote a big reply, but then decided to edit because I'm not a dietitian. All I can say, I was my skinniest and healthiest (full of energy, good hair, flawless skin) when I didn't eat meat, processed or (much of) fried food. Unfortunately, I let myself go, but once I stop breastfeeding, I'll go back to my old eating habits.

Hi Dreaminess.

Virgo Ascendant here!

Make sure you check your vitamin D levels. Don't know where you live. People with deficiency lose less or no weight. Also Omega 3 like Flax seeds or Chia.

I am currently much heavier than before. I used to eat raw in the mornings (I eat vegan all together) and since summer I skip the green smoothies and eat seeds and oats, raisins with oat milk.I have noticed I don't feel as good as I did with the green start. I didn't take my vitamin D since summer as well. I keep forgetting to get a new stack.

So thanks for this topic, it made me search and google. I don't want to feel this way! I was so happy with my body weight but not anymore. Funnily Trans Jupiter is conjunct my Ascendant.

Also do visualisation techniques for letting go of things you do not need anymore. Sometimes people feel they do not lose weight is also because they have a hard time letting go emotionally of stuff. The body holds on to what it has to protect. It's actually so sweet of our bodies to want to take such good care of us.

GOOD LUCK!!

Excess weight can be due to fluctuating hormone levels.
I would work on balancing your blood sugar levels and eating for metabolic health, increasing temperatures if they are low. I love some of Ray peat's ideas because it's based on science and he's big on fruits, roots, dairy and good quality proteins, inc bone broths and liver.

Once I started eating this way thanks to my nutritionist Emma Sgourakis (the nutrition coach) my life changed and my energy soared. It's important to get enough calories in to reduce stress and adrenal responses in the body. Calcium is vital for this.

Workout wise, I'm hugely into Tracy Anderson. My body has changed so much only in 5 sessions. You can find her on you tube.

(FYI im a Virgo moon)

They are very different body types. The key difference is an hourglass figure has a very defined waist (it's roughly a 10 inch difference from the bust and hip). An example would be someone who has the measurements 36-26-36 (bust-waist-hips). Marilyn Monroe was a prime example.

Apple-shape women do not have a very defined waist. These women tend to carry their weight in their midsection and have skinnier legs by comparison.

There is also pear-shaped, which is similar to hourglass since there is a defined waist, but they have a noticeably smaller upper body compared to their lower body. They carry their weight in their legs.

The hour-glass and pear-shaped bodies are ideal since it really isn't good health-wise to carry a lot of weight in your midsection.

Sylven and EmGem thank you And Astra once again thank you. I think i confused apple and pear cause when i googled up apple shaped bodies some of them looked a bit similar to hourglass so i might have looked at pear shaped bodies instead, probably why i thought apple and hourglass looked a bit similar haha.

I'm not a Virgo but I can offer my two cents!

Losing weight is more about watching what you eat than exercise (but exercise is still important!) There are some great apps for tracking calories- I use MyFitnessPal.

My absolute favorite recipe blog is skinnytaste.com. She has the best recipes and they are healthy! The recipes don't even taste like "diet food". Yummmm!!

The best tips I can give you:
- Cut out fast food and soda. That stuff is not only toxic for your body but they can increase cravings.
-Make veggies and fruit your BFF's (I'm still working on this part myself!)
- Actually read the nutrition labels. Just because something is in a package that looks healthy doesn't mean that it is. If you don't know anything about nutrition labels, google it and learn!

And last but not least, let it become a lifestyle change. Dieting is great to get you to the weight where you want to be. However, you will start a yo-yo pattern of dieting if you don't change your lifestyle regarding health.

Good luck!

I'm a Virgo rising with heavy Mercury and lots of mutable in my chart. I can only lose weight on a low-crab, high-protein, high-fat ketogenic diet. A keto diet is good if you find yourself getting anxious, irritable, depressed or chronically tired on other more traditional diets. For anyone with heavy Mercury in this chart, be it either Virgo or Gemini, or just a strong Mercury placement, that's something to look out for. Many traditional weight loss diets are extremely hard on the nervous system because they are so low on the vital fats your nervous system needs to be healthy. That includes the excessively vilified saturated fats, as well as unsaturated fats and Omega-3s.

Also, since Virgo rules the digestive system, issues with insulin production can factor in, like insulin intolerance (sometimes called "pre-diabetes"), which the body produces more and more insulin yet uses it is less and less effectively. Only keto and low-glycemic diets address insulin problems. I personally have never done well on low glycemic diets. Even supposedly low glycemic complex carbs like oats make me feel tired, fuzzy-headed and run down. So I stick to a keto diet.

Keto diets don't focus on counting calories so much as limiting carbs and controlling insulin. I personally find it a much less neurotic way to approach weight loss than counting calories. One of the biggest problems with staying on a keto diet is the limitations to your diet can make day-to-day living tricky. I basically eat just meat, fish, eggs, raw veggies, a few select low-carb cooked veggies like leafy greens, a little fruit and a little diary. No grains or starches at all. Even though I'm very experienced at staying on a keto diet, it does get annoying sometimes with preparing food to take to work or the limitations on what I can eat when dining out. But feeling healthy, having energy and keeping the weight off is worth it.

So, if you don't find more traditional diets are working for you or don't feel "right", you might want to consider a keto diet. Good luck.

Virgo moon Mars and midheaven here.
I train fighters and am a dietician to keep their weight on point.
You gotta go paleo. Go to Robb wolf or Chris kressers site. I work with pro athletes and you need to cut the gluten, dairy and legumes. Plus probably any form of flour or grain. That is it.... A lot of these responses won't get you anything because the people saying them one aren't in great shape, and two never have helped someone get there. Ask if you need more help. Make sure to find a workout plan that covers the whole board. 97% of plans are from people on drugs who are doing things that won't work unless you're on drugs. You need a solid plan that works for everyone and doesn't promise anything new without getting in the trenches for hard work. Jen ferrugia and her husband Jason are some of the best at that. Huge resource for me for my female clients among many more. Need more info just ask!

I did Paleo for awhile, personally i loved it! Its just very hard and expensive to follow when your trying to feed 2 growing boys, omg they eat like horses!!
If it was just me alone i would completely follow the Paleo diet and yes i also found it helps you drop weight very efficiently.

Wow….first of all, I'm in excellent shape and I don't follow the paleo diet. I don't use supplements of any kind and I certainly don't use drugs. The paleo diet does have elements that are beneficial to follow, but it is far from being a healthy diet. Yes, you can lose weight from it because of the emphasis on high protein, but if someone wants to be truly healthy, then they would be wise to question a diet that requires you to remove entire food groups. If someone wants to follow the paleo diet for a short period of time, then it's ok, but if someone is seeking a longterm diet, then it's one of the worst ones to use.
