Whether you or someone you know has Gemini rising, sun, moon, etc., I would like to hear your experiences and opinions about us Gemini-influenced people.

My ascendant is in Gemini and I have read about this sign having split or multiple personalities. I never believed it because I didn't see how I had two or more personalities.

But then, yesterday, my twin friends (heh, what a weird pun lol) said something about me having two personalities. They said it was because I used a preferred name other than my real name and also because sometimes, I act differently based on which name people call me with. I never gave it much thought until last night, but I have found it to be somewhat true.

Earlier this morning, I was blasting alternative rock music and now I'm currently listening to chill R&B love songs. This just made me realize my friends were right after all LOL

Have any of you guys been told you have split or multiple personalities in real life? Or if you're friends or know someone who is a Gemini, do you notice this in them?

I'm HEAVY Gem/Mercury. HEAVY. I'm multifaceted, and can have a wide spectrum of moods and interests, but I'm hardly "split". That stereotype really annoys me. It's like persons accusing me (or other Gems) of that only want us to be some narrow idea of a person that they are used to, and so if we do anything different from THEIR expectations, we're being abnormal. No. It's them, projecting their narrow perceptions on us.

People with heavy Gem or Merc will naturally be more curious and eager to learn and acquire knowledge, and thus be more broadminded and more interested in having broader experiences. That will in turn make us more complex and multifaceted than less curious people. Other people need to come to understand this about us, rather than try to label us and accuse us of being unstable or irregular.

My simple advice is:

DO NOT LET THE DULLMINDED AND INCURIOUS DEFINE YOU!

EVER!!!

Everything you experience is YOU. It is a valid part of of who you are, regardless of others' perceptions. Be proud to be a broadminded, complex and expansive individual! That is your Gem/Merc strength!!! If they don't have a broad enough mind to see that, that's THEIR problem. Don't let them project it onto you and never, ever incorporate such projections into your own sense of self.

I have a very serious side to my personality. Nose-to-the-grindstone, everything by the book, straight As only type of person. (Triple Virgo, 3 planets in Capricorn too.)

But I also have a childish, mischievous, funny side that comes out at rather unexpected times. I talk to myself while I'm doing stuff, and that's when other people notice it. I'll be rambling or complaining about something and then I flip the switch and start making little jokes about myself or the situation, except I'm just talking to myself so I don't notice it all. I'm usually being completely serious so it always amuses me when other people start crying because they're laughing so hard. I'll make myself laugh only if my brain makes that imaginative little leap, where my mind enters this weird little space and an amusing situation becoming something really funny and straight out of a cartoon or comedy. THEN I have a hard time keeping my face straight.

Sometimes that happens at the wrong time and I end up making myself giggle in public - I'm sure other people think I'm totally insane when they see this. But I'm not! I'm just a Gemini Moon.

I'll listen to linkin park one minute, then listen to reggae. Once I'm done with that, I'll listen to Years and Years and then move on to some traditional African music. Then I may switch to some Avicii and switch back to Drake. I've got a soft spot for ALL types of music.

I also like watching quiz shows, reality tv, news, crime shows, documentaries, soaps etc. I have varied tastes when it comes to entertainment.

That's definitely where my "split personality" comes into things.

I am not trying to say that people can tell me who I am just because they see the outer part of me. I am also not trying to say that having varying moods or listening to different genres of music makes me qualified to have multiple personalities.

All I am trying to do here is to have a friendly discussion about the stereotype of Geminis being multifaceted, regardless of whether you think it's true or not.

Stereotypes are fun when you don't take them too seriously

I tend to change my mind too. For example, the other day I decided to go to Target to buy some stuff. On my way there, I changed my mind and decided I'd rather go shopping in the Mall instead. As I was shopping around, I passed by a movie theater and decided to go see a movie The Martian. Called a friend and she came asap, so I ended up spending about 5 hours away from home instead of the planned 30 min in target....in sweatpants and flip flops.

I like comparing people with puzzles. All made from numerous pieces closely imbricated together to form a picture representing the personality.
Now, many people have many different sort of puzzles, small, big, from a lot of pieces to close to none and the final picture always being a different one.
Yet, all of those people are made of the same "Jigsaw" puzzle, the pieces are, somehow, related to each other bare certain differences, but overall, you can stil l recognize the pieces between each other.

A person suffering with Dissociative Personality Disorder would be like having two puzzles (or more) inside of one.
Some pieces are rogue and doesn't fit AT ALL, since they come from a whole different puzzle, and, sometimes, the whole picture change into something else because of certain triggers.

This is me, generally speaking. What's interesting is if I'm adapted for another group of people (which often includes dressing the part, for the same reason one dresses the part when going to church or the office), then others I know from "different groups" won't recognize me unless I bring it to their attention that it's me!

And some people do get distressed when I can't be easily classified, as it makes me a cipher, unknown and thus threatening. And perhaps this is the indirect reason why so many of those close to me have a Gemini ASC.
