Today I was trying to unwind before a ton of work this week starts (lots of physical activity and having to be ON). Many hours of rehearsals ahead of me. I decided to take on as many natural ways I could to de-stress, including running outside in the woods, cooking, and then eventually sinking into an hour long bath. The bath was the most effective (of course). But I started thinking while laying there trying to clear my head -- water is ALWAYS the most soothing for me. Being near water, surrounded by water, swimming in water... whatever form, I am always soothed and renewed by it. I am a Cap Sun, but with Venus and Mars in Pisces. My rising and moon are both air signs (libra, aquarius), so perhaps I live off of my Venus and Mars the most (artist). Regardless, water is my secret to healing. What element are you drawn to? Does seeing Fire crackle make you feel strengthened? Does air - breeze, flying, etc - help you release your demons and feel free? Is the Earth grounding for you? Or, are you like me - in need of water for all of these things? And, what sign in your chart do you think is responsible for this? <3 Happy Monday! IP: Logged |

Interesting! I hadn't thought of that...I generally love the sky, be it day or night, and that would be air. One of my happiest memories is where I went wind surfing, and while that may seem a water thing, what made it so special was the wind...and then the clouds clearing to let the sun through which turned the waters from misty grey to bright aqua, and I screamed with the joy of life, and my feeling was that when I died I'd think all the pain in my life was worth it for that one ineffable moment. Another memory was walking in the hills, and the clouds and sun so perfect, and the breeze flowing around me while making the trees and flowers sway hypnotically. I spread my arms and just EXULTED in being alive. (I've done that a few times, at least.) As I think of autumnal leaves, how crisp and bluer they make the sky seem, it's just not complete without the leaves rattling in the wind. And then there's fire. Yes, I like candles and flames...in my dreams I'm sometimes pyrokinetic (though I also have nightmares of fire chasing me). But for real fire, I'd say that's my athletic hobbies and workout routine, especially when I go into the sauna, which I turn all the way up. I go in, sweat buckets, get out, take a cold shower (it's a moment of pain and then ecstasy, and nothing like it, not even sex, to know I'm alive) and then back to the sauna. I like water and earth as well, but I'd definitely say air and fire are the most recharging and inspirational for me...and my chart is is almost evenly split between fire and air. (I do have a Scorpio Jupiter, and plenty of Scorpio cusps in my chart in both stelliums.) IP: Logged |

I have a splash chart and love all the elements. Especially with my nature-loving Taurus SN. Can't tell you how much I love campfires and warm breezes, or walking on a dirt path...As a Cap sun I love hiking, and under stress my first instinct is to go for a long walk, preferably in a forest. But still...I suppose water prevails. Long baths, walking in rainstorms, sailing, night swimming... And just drinking a lot of hot tea. 4H Scorpio NN 8H Pisces moon 12H Saturn in mutual reception with sun Venus conjunct Neptune Rabbit IP: Logged |

Earth. When I meditate I like to imagine myself resting on the side of a grass-covered hills I love earth. I suppose that's where my love for woodwork, metalwork, earth gemstones and rocks comes from. I somewhat identify with the image of the dwarves, mining and creating lovey things. Love gardens, flowers, fruit orchards, forests, hills, mountains... etc... Love the scent of earth/soil. Love rubbing the soil between my fingers and feel its texture. I'm a cap sun, with a chart full of earth placements. I have some fire placements and I suppose I like fire, like bonfire, fireworks and whatnot. But they don'y comfort me and make me feel "connected" the way earth does. IP: Logged |

<3 This is the relationship I have always felt I am 'Supposed' to have with the Earth... but can never quite connect the way I want to with it. Beautifully said! IP: Logged |

Lol yeah I get what you mean, I have 5 planets in the 12th house and I thought that would lead me to love water. But I'm more or less indifferent about it. It's good for the greens. My s.o, on the other hand, is a pluto dominant with pluto in scorp. Some water placements and a bunch of planets in water houses. He loves water, love living near bodies of water. The sounds of waves calm him. He very often uses water and air as symbolism in his poems n creative writing. IP: Logged |

Water! Sunny rainfalls are my absolute favorite. I don't have any water signs in my personal planets but two of them are in water houses. Also ceres and nn are in Pisces. Water is automatically something I need to love and find soothing. At the end of a hard day, I can't let go of the stress without taking a shower. It washes off all the bad energy.Earth is second favorite. Earth asc and sun and moon in earth house.Never cared much for fire and heavy wind makes me POed IP: Logged |

To destress, I tend to "talk" it out.My Moon is in 3rd and so I am adapt at communicating how I feel. So usually after talking it out, I feel better. Sometimes I want to be around a social atmosphere with the noise of chatter around me. Not necessarily taking part per se. But just being in the "mix" of it. The Moon in 3rd is sadly a moody placement for me most times.

Fire! Fire is the most beautiful element. It warms us, lights a way in the dark but it is powerful and can destroy. It consumes everything it needs. The most selfish yet needy element. Air, water and earth can exist on their own. Fire needs air and earth to survive, but too much of any of the other elements and it is extinguished. So fragile but so capable of danger.I am a fire void! But as for what I need... water. Well, we all NEED water but I just dont think I could live far from the sea. I love the rain, it makes me feel awake and present. I love fog, which is a mix of air and water, which puts water in the air so we can exist within it, so that water can be breathed into our lungs. I think my love for fog is because I have an air sun and water moon. However, water and earth are the top elements in my chart. (They are equal) IP: Logged |

Do you think a connection with animals and wanting to take care of them is an earth thing? Maybe an earth+water thing because how life is said to be created from the earth and also said to have emerged from water? Or maybe someone who is balanced in all elements? The fire of life and the air it breathes? IP: Logged |

I think I have a love/hate relationship with all of them. Because there are times I feel happy with air for example but there are others I remember feeling mad about the air. I dont like water that much. I dont like to go to the beach and all that stuff. And the earth is not my cup of tea either. Fire would be one I like but not that much. This is when I feel that i am not spiritual which I am but i just cant get that connection with nature (IP: Logged |

I can see reasons in all of those. Caring for animals can be an earth thing, it fits the "mother Earth" image. Although like you said, fire breathes life and water nurtures too. So I'd probably settle for someone whose chart is balanced.

When I'm really going through a lot and need to be alone and unwind or think, I find myself especially drawn to nature and the sea. There are many times when I will go out to the ocean and just be near it and think. For me, I think it's my Moon in Capricorn and Mars in Cancer IP: Logged |

I tend to attract a lot of Earth signs. And I do love Earth signs. Virgo, Capricorn and Taurus, in that order. Idk why but for some odd reason I attract ALOT of Capricorns. I don't understand it. Cool topicGenerally both water and earth calm me the most..but with water, it's generally only the ocean and waterfalls that calm me. Moving, natural water. I'm gonna go with earth. I love being around plants..fields..mountains..meadows..trees..sand..hills..it makes me feel safe, secure, and connected. It reminds me that there is life all around me, things going on outside of my own little head. I sense mystery, awe, and strength all wrapped up together when I'm sitting amongst plants and animals. Capricorn Sun My chart is all Fire and Water except for my Cap Sun and Neptune. I'm an air void. ------------------ Wherever you go, there you are. I can see them! I meant drawn to the actual element - not who we attract (person to person). Like, I am drawn to water (flowing water, water in a bath tub, waterfalls, rain, etc.) as a means to soothe my soul. BUT that is interesting you see that consistency!! IP: Logged |

I'm drawn most drawn to nature. Whenever I'm stressed, the best way for me to unwind is to go sit in a park and just meditate and think about whatever's bothering me. Being surrounded by the trees and grass makes me feel more connected to nature and grounds me. I've got Virgo Ascendant and Taurus Moon as well as Uranus and Neptune in Cap. I also have a stellium of planets in the 6th house which Virgo rules over. Fire also relaxes me. Like if I'm sitting around a bonfire with friends or even just lighting a candle in a dark room and watching it, it's soothing. I have no fire planets in my chart so I'm wondering if it soothes me because it's something that's not already in me? I've got 5 planets in water signs but for some reason I'm not that fond of water 0.0 I like sitting by a pond/lake and relaxing every once in awhile but if I get too close to the water I get uncomfortable for some reason. Well in that case I would definitely say water. I love seeing water I love taking baths I can stay in the bath for hours. If it wasn't dangerous I'd sleep in my bath tub while its full of water and soap ^_^ as a matter of fact, I've entertained the idea of putting a tv in my bathroom so I can watch tv and movies while I'm in the bath. I live in an apartment now but when I buy a house I'm definitely putting a tv in the master bath. Water soothes and calms me I love hearing it, even when it's raining (as long as I'm inside!) I put some good music on with some heavy bass in it and just relax and think or daydream...yes definitely water <3 I'm pretty sure it's due to all of the heavy Scorpio and water elements in my chart.... ------------------ Asc Gemini Sun Scorpio 6th Moon Pisces 10th Mercury Scorpio 6th Venus Scorpio 6th Mars Sagittarius 7th Jupiter Scorpio 6th Saturn Aquarius 10th Uranus Capricorn 8th Neptune Capricorn 8th Pluto Scorpio 6th IP: Logged |

Water... by a pond or streams with trees and woods. Watching fish, turtles in the water. Nearby ducks and insects. Watching the way the wind ripples the surface of ponds, and the way that light can reflect in surreal ways, even looking like thin 3 to 4-inch individual fine needle rods of fiery pelting rains like a storm on the surfaces that are ruffled, frapped and disturbed. Watching blowing billowing clouds against blue on the mirror-like calm surface of that water. Watching the livid hyper-dimension and sharp calm clarity of things sometimes, just under its surface, while at other times pondering with lost anxieties when shadows occlude and there is no in-sight to be beheld. ...This too, all these, pass with the changing atmospheres. Every day not quite the same as before. Something to be captured new and IN it's Moment.Sitting on a sand dune alone at night for hours into the early part of the morning. Watching the Moon, and the moon's light splayed on cresting waves. Flecks of phosphorous looking like speed lightning flashes as the waves form a lip that curls in and their light jumps. Watching the contrasts of translucence in the wave crests in the night-- displayed by the Moon. Little sandcrabs that come out to scurry around the sands edges, but freeze and their eyes glow like deer-in-the-headlights when they are alerted suddenly to your presence interrupting their dance there. Walking through Woods... the incense of leaves, crackle of twigs, the carpets of hues of green brown mosses, the tiny tourmaline and mica flecks imbedded in large granite rocks. Bugs? ... NO thank you. I generally really don't like bugs~~ haha Crackling fires that take on properties that look as though they could be touched and not be hot, and live another soft nature, gentle cool of their own. A subtle joy of private liquid purifying substance... Being with an Other in these senses... Walking in parallel with shared individual sensing, not speaking a word-- just Being IN it and appreciating what is there, along with deeply who. It's really hard for me to decide. I know I have experienced all of the elements effects but for me to give you the most accurate response I wish I could just become the avatar and like do it all at once so I could know what I'm ultimately drawn to. I like water , mostly because of the temperature how it effects my body and the way it touches it. I also like wind because it chills me sometimes or makes me come alive. Fire gets me deep into thought and the sand is wonderful also. I like the way it feels as it seeps through your fingers! So fun IP: Logged | |
