So who are your favourite comedians? What styles of humour do you like?

I've been watching Rhod Gilbert and I love his dramatic rants. I have sag mercury, I rant rather regularly and watching him ranting feels like finding a kindred spirit...

Idk how to describe it but I like that his rants may seem absurd at first, but then when I think about it I'll be like "He is right, that sht worths getting worked up over" hahaha.

He's a libra sun. Idk his other placements.

Here is the sandwich rant. I absolutely lost it at 9:19.

"I can see the cress sticking out from behind the egg". His tone of voice, facial expression, hand movements. body posture... everything is so fking right and the combined result is funny as hell. I almost fell in love.

Another favourite is Ellen Degeneres. She's refreshing. My cap placements like her wry, often gentle style.

I especially like the way she delivers self-deprecating jokes. It's "just right" to me. I've watched quite a few comedians who do this style and more often than not I end up feeling that their jokes are rather awkward and unamusing.

Louis CK!!!! George Carlin.

Louis is a Virgo and George is a Taurus...must be my earthy moon and Moon / Saturn that loves their common sense approach.

I liked Amy Schumer (Gemini) but I'm over her schtick as of late. I want her to have more variety than always joking about being a **** and dating....like, everyone jokes about dating. We get it, it's terrible.

I like Amy Poehler (Virgo / Moon in Leo. Louis CK also has a lot of fire in his chart!) more than Tina Fey for no specific reason, but I have both their books and find both hilarious.

Aziz Ansari is supportive / a "feminist" and at one point I found him ha-larious, but his quirks have gotten predictable to me thus less funny. He's a Pisces w/ Cancer moon.

I also really like Margaret Cho but moreso for her writing and opinions than her stand up. She's a Sag.

Chris Porter is good too. He's a Capricorn. Allegedly...I couldn't find an astrotheme on him.

I will tell you who's NOT funny to me and not because some of her jokes are offensive but I've watched her stand-up and haven't laughed even once... Angela Johnson (Anjelah?) Ugh.

Dave Chapelle and Chris Rock...

Dave Chapelle is the G.O.A.T to me. In both his stand-up and his classic tv show

Chris Rock is mostly funny stand-up. His movies were a hit or miss..

I also loved Bernie Mac, love Katt Williams, and the OLD Eddie Murphy

Same

I also love Ellen, Jimmy Fallon, Russell Brand.

I agree with you about Amy Schumer. I feel like female comedians are pressured to talk about sex non-stop (?) and it almost feels like oppression to me, though I can't prove anything. They might like joking about sex and be that way in private all the time, but the business seems to demand that, and nothing but that, which seems backwards. Like you can't just be a comedian, you have to be a porn-comedian.

I havent looked at their charts in detail but they seem to either be opposite or square my sun...I think...

I LOVE Russell Brand as a person, he's brilliant and not afraid to oppose authority. Agreed, agreed. I attended a taping of his show when I visited LA and I didn't care for him making fun of this troop who believed in Jesus and seemed to genuinely believe that's why he was there on the show, but eh. Can't always be perfect I suppose. I'm neutral about Jimmy Fallon but he's never done anything that offended me. I always forget about Ellen but you're right, she's adorable because her humor is innocent and yet perfectly timed!

The number one reason they joke about sex is because of "our" (meaning the general public) response to it. It is oppressive (in more ways than one maybe.) I can't think of a single time a female comedian joked about sex while not portraying men as bumbling buffoons or simple minded sex-crazed creatures (Amy S. -and probably Margaret Cho who gets too raunchy for me at times- I'm looking at you...). They try to pass it off as edgy or like they're super progressive and superior (in a way) to average women. Makes me wonder which gender is the majority of their comedy writers.... I would love to see a female comedian who joked about things the way Louis CK or George Carlin did, you know intelligence.

End rant.

Conan O'Brien!!

Me too haha. He cracks me up.

But my favorite is the french comedian Gad Elmaleh. He's really expressive and funny.

But I'm a Gemini and the guy is an Aries with a Sun/Mercury conjunction. It's not surprising I think he's cool

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11jG7lkwDwU

That's his most famous sketch - "Where is Bryan". He's making fun of how the french learn english at school.
It has subs.
