Mine is... 1920's; Hands down.
I would be hopping around from one dark speak-easy to another; While smoking, dancing, singing, hardly eating, but always full, talking, laughing and drinking because it's so wrong it's right.
I'd never cut my hair, although.
But, on the bright side I'd welcome red lipstick with open arms.
Water/Fire Planet Stellium- Water/Fire House Stellium.
The Earth I have would escort me from place to place...

3000 then I'll work at Planet Express with Fry & Leela and we will adopt our own Seymour and everything will be cherry pie

Or maybe I'll be wit the Doctor and travel to each Era 👀

what a fun life that would be haha

Probably the 1800s or the 90s ❤

My Virgo venus loves all the classy stuff and intricate fashions back in the 19th century.

My two Aquarius planets and my Sun-Uranus opposition is in love with the grungy 90's.

I could take the 80's again. Pluto transiting my Scorpio first house. I wouldn't mind visiting the 1880's or maybe the 1930's (except for the economic issues).

I honestly do like living in these times cause I feel like anything goes with fashion.

Music wise I am stuck in the late 60's-90's
the best music! I love classic rock, and new wave understated bands. Music makes me feel like I should of been a young person in the 70's and 80's

Fashion: I like living in these times for fashion.
Though I would love an excuse to dress like I am from the Victorian Area so romantic!
I find the 60's dresses, hair, and make up sexy
70's has the best naturally down to earth looks.
90's some of my favortie fashion icons, Fran Dresher and the spice girls, and then the grunge.

Gemini ASC, Aries Sun, Scorpio Moon, Venus Pisces, Aquarius Mars.

1910-20s for me as well. I love the style but I always wonder what it was like to be alive then.

the 50's! i have no qualms on being a "good little housewife", though the fangs would occasionally show themselves. it would have to be after 1954 though since i'm not white lol. even then...

I would want to be in an intergalactic era, assuming we ever are. And if I could navigate time by going sideways (as opposed to forward or backward)...it's probably my Sag stellium (moon-Mars-Uranus-Neptune) at work, and one reason I write scifi is because I'm unsatisfied with a lot of scifi that already exists, and what I imagine (and imagine how humans would adapt) can be haunting to my imagination (influenced by Neptune).

But I had an interesting dream many years ago of an alien invasion. I had a son in this dream (he frequently showed up in my dreams back then as either a son or little brother), and I took him and my cousin in a time machine as Earth was lost. As our journey ended and the machine was kaput, we got out to find it was 1983 (the year in which I'd turn 1 year old, perhaps I didn't want to risk going before then?), and perhaps it was my Sag seeing the bright side of things, but I saw an eatery and said, "Glam metal!" I went inside to see if I could find anything on their music box not even caring about what we left behind (and what we could easily live to see again).

Well... I'm surprised to see this thread alive, with actual meaning! I think about this stuff once in a red moon.. So thank you!
DS - I love that cartoon literally as if I've watched no other animation past 3 episodes. I didn't mean this but strangely enough that's why I'm feeling it because when I think of different eras I'm serious without realizing stuff you posted is what I'd like to feel of I'd be somewhere else but this one...And I would be Dr. Z!
For the 70's... This is special because... Wtf??? Seems like bad lighting and cheesiness all around.
80's/90's - the former is I'll admit a true mark of hot or not. The latter has some great music, yes.
As far as having no qualms about being a good housewife... When the fangs start to sprout I beg to differ, yes because that's a qualm- growing a pair! Also, in those times only colour that mattered when being the epitome of a good housewife was; shoes to nails to purse. Being a housewife... The only thing that's changed in general is being the ideal we still can't escape in ways! imagine being a woman pre 1954 period!
SV - what do you want to feel about this era?
PJ - in your dream/reality is your cousin male or female? I agree Sci-fi writing sucks, but then again it's never really been good.
ST- like the name and of course it's Texas.. It takes me back to an era with a song that shares your name from an artist from Houston? Tippin on a number which follows 3?!

Male. As kids we both lived at our grandmother's at times, which meant we sometimes lived together (even when he wasn't there, his parent's house was in sight and on the same farm), and he's something like an older brother to me (in both the good and bad ways). I dream of him a lot even as an adult.

That's awesome! I reside very far from where I was born and I have a cousin who I feel would be a brother to me, and I wish I could dream of him. Our lives throughout the years have been similar in struggle also. We also grew up around our grandparents farm!
I've always felt that cousins are like siblings. Pretty neat you guys get to travel together, even in a dream!

That is so awesome. I love space and its entire aesthetic. Gosh, now I'm gonna daydream so hard. I can already feel my mind floating. <3

Have you ever seen any space movies from the 50's? They're laughably bad, but I still like watching some from time to time to see how well these directors can grasp the sci-fi genre.

From the 50s? I've seen the Twilight Zone, which generally weren't bad as stories (that I can recall), but not at all believable. One of my favorite was the guy imprisoned on an asteroid who falls in love with an android given to him, but the asteroid was just like Nevada. Another one that had an interesting twist ending was it appeared to be a pioneer woman fending off "little green men in space suits" as she couldn't understand what was going on, but the ending showed that the space men were Earthlings and this was a planet of giant humans living in Old Western times. Nice twist, but not believable.

I vaguely recall seeing the old War of the Worlds...but didn't find it memorable, and I recall finding parts of it exasperating.

I also saw MST3K as they showcased Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (I see that it came out in 1964...worth watching only if for the laughs! And preferably set to MST3K.) Still better than Dracula 3000.

Then there's Lost In Space...I only watch those for the laughs (and wasn't surprised that sometimes the actors slowed down production by uncontrolled laughter at the plots, some of them getting in trouble for it). I think my favorite (to laugh at) is where aliens are hippies (and make Will and Penny go on "dance breaks" and have Dr. Smith play the aging hippie), but I still haven't seen the infamous Great Vegetable Rebellion episode. Back when I looked on the LISW, even the fans were being sarcastic about the plots (among other aspects). (That said, when I saw the first few eps of season 1, it stuck close to the movie that came out into the 90s, more than I'd have thought possible, though of course the 90s was both more cynical in some ways and more enlightened in others than the original.)

And ah, Star Trek...especially TOS. I consider that Science Fable more than SciFi, and in that light it can be fun. Sometimes it even veered into outright myth, like when the Enterprise was caught in space by the giant hand of Adonis, and even blowing up his temple diluting the power to affect the ship I can note such vulnerabilities are common in myth (such as the death of Balder). And the "death" or "disempowerment" of Adonis reminds me of the tale of Lleu Llaw Gyffes in that a woman brought him down for another leader and he changed into an eagle flying away heartbroken. (Btw, you can see a well done essay comparing the Borg to Revelations here. And I just recently saw this on how Star Trek is the "first Matrix" referred to by Agent Smith in The Matrix!)

Even so, those shows don't fill my need to actually explore strange worlds and how humans would adapt to them (including socially and politically as well as criminally). They're more simple tropes and archetypes ("the ice world" and the "jungle world" for example, and all too often the ETs are just "humans in funny costumes" when one can find more exotic cultures right here on Earth, often allow for unaided interbreeding between species even when one is a mammal and the other a lizard, and ignores countless factors that would make them truly unearthly).

I've read more scifi books from back then, and with the notable exception of Isaac Asimov (and also Frank Herbert in the 60s), I generally found them poor...and yet realizing they didn't have computers but did have deadlines, I can also sympathize with them. I'm so glad that I can easily edit the stories I write as I write them rather than relying on a typewriter! Each time I think of something else to factor in they become that much more interesting, tease the mind and/or inspire goosebumps, and believable (at least to me and my beta readers anyway, and with certain artistic license, of course--but carefully thought about in how such novelties and such came about and how it would affect humanity and other species).

Describing the various space colonies (and how the local environment, among other factors, affects society and how things are done) has reached a level that I'm not aware of having been done before. It even includes worlds that appear Earth like on first appearance, but actually have a bit more air pressure and oxygen than Earth which would affect humans who foolishly exposed themselves to it (there is an extremely limited spectrum, cosmologically speaking, that humans could survive unaided in, and even plenty places on earth are deadly to humans, even scientists who explore get killed because they forget to take the subtle but deadly environmental factors into account). It gives me a vicarious feel of actually exploring that is satisfying to my Sag aspects that I usually don't get from scifi.

There are maybe four things I'd really like to do... but if you guys come across a time machine - I'm up for anything, really! Haha

The four things would be:

- Going back to prehistoric times... and seeing T-Rex in the flesh.
- Going to either the 1920s (because I like their fashion) or the 1960s (because I like their music)... and,
- Year 3000, with Desiring Shadows, sounds totally fun!
