But Uranus wasn't discovered until a couple of centuries ago, while astrology is thousand of years old. And Uranus isn't even acknowledged in Vedic astrology.

For me it's more a Pisces thing, more than Uranus…I know so many Pisces Suns who are into Astrology…less Aquarians.I started my Astrology Obession when I was 12 years old (remember the japanese Manga "Sailor Moon"? - If not, you will all love it) Ever since Astrology is vital for me and I'm thinking of doing an exam in it for practicing on a regular and more foundational basis. What I consider responsible for this in my chart: NEPTUNE IN T-SQUARE TO THE LUMINARIES
NEPTUNE CONJUCT JUPITER AND MARS
URANUS SQUARE MERCURY
ASC CAPRICORN

Just saw that Uranus has been transiting over my north node. Explains why I'm feeling such a pull toward astrology now I think....
