I want to look into this. Many of us (myself included) will say things like "I have a fifth house moon so I have a Leo feel in my emotions". Yet, when I think about it in a technical sense, it doesn't make sense. I think of it as the house is the area of life where such planets focus their activity in a manner consistent with the sign that they're in. So, what are your personal experiences with this? I have a Virgo stellium in the 12th and no Pisces placements. I do get along well with Pisces placements (sun very much). I used to attribute it to my 12th but now I wonder. In my particular chart, being Libra rising and my sign/houses flipped. With Pisces it may be the opposition. There's definitely mutual understanding and really, mutual admiration but we are actually quite different from each other when I think about it. Opposition is funny like that from what I've seen. It's difficult to know for me. What do you think? Personal experiences? IP: Logged |

GREAT questionMy guitar teaching, whom I have known very well for 7 years, has a Libra Sun conjunct Mars in the 8th House. Sometimes, he has tinges of Mars in Scorpio. However, it is more of an overlay or a tinge to his Libra planets. It would be like a girl who has a shift( simple dress lol) and over that a gauze layer like a chiffon. The chiffon overlays her dress but it does not replace it Hope that helps ------------------ Want to Read Simple, Fun,Sexy Articles on Astrology? With my Cancer stellium in 11H, Asc and Mars exact sextile Uranus (also have an Aqua Vertex) aspecting Uranus in 3H in one way or another it's safe to say I am very Uranian but am I a lot like an Aquarius? No! Out of relationships I can come across much like a Leo (my moon in 5H) at times but once attached to someone, like now, I am pure Capricorn. Uranus is my overall chart ruler by delineation and Mercury regular chart ruler. There you have it IP: Logged |

I have an 8H moon. I don't feel like a Scorpio moon. Most noticeably, I don't come across as intense, and I'm not really the jealous/suspicious/secretive type either. No blood fetishes or whatever you Scorpio moons are into. (No offense intended)I'm just someone who's dealt with death more than average... I made a thread about it here: Question for 8th house moon people, about death ...and I've had psychic experiences, received inheritances, basically lived the 8H moon "script" to a t, including the early loss of my mother.

An 8th house moon doesn't always mean early death of mother. Generally planets in the 6th,8th and 12th can be problematic but if the planet is in good dignity (delighted by it's friends, in a friend sign) then it does good things related to that house. So for the 6th house, it can give defeat of enemies, for 8th, inheritance and fame, and for 12th, settlement abroad and a lot of bed pleasures (i.e. sex)

I know. But it CAN indicate early loss of mother, the readings say that.Unquote me please? On second thought, I didn't want to go on and on about my moon. IP: Logged |

Unquoted and yes, it can but I'm sure most people wouldn't want to read that (I know I wouldn't). It can be quite scary for some. Anything that NEEDS to be said to someone should be done so in a professional reading.IP: Logged |

That is indeed a very good question, DopGang, and I tend to agree with your view. The house is more about the place where the planet expresses itself, in the manner of the sign/aspects. However I think it's important not to completely rule out a "tinge" like Ami said, because, speaking from personal experience (and the things I've observed in others), the energies aren't as black and white and cut and dried. The other thing is that very often, in a chart, you'll see different "themes" being repeated several times. I.e. Neptune + 12H or Pisces influence, Virgo + 6H influence, etc. So that also makes things a little more tricky. Here's something that's a little off topic but that I've found very interesting: quote: No matter what signs the Moon is involved with, or what signs are on the cusp of the water houses, the process is the same. You will process your deep emotions according to the element you find there. If you’re lucky, they’re in agreement. You may have a Leo Moon and fire signs ruling four, eight and 12. You will plunge into your own emotional life as if you are on fire, in spite of having, for example, Saturn square the Moon. You may be reserved towards others, but most likely instinctive and impulsive as far as your internal processes are concerned. If the sign of your Moon is not as compatible with the signs on the water houses, your instincts (Moon) may be at odds with the way you cope with your emotional wisdom. Maybe your Moon is in earth and you need solid proof of things to feel comfortable. Maybe your Virgo Moon needs rationality and analysis. Yet with fire on the cusp of the water houses, the Virgo tendencies will war with the drive for instinctual and passionate connection.
source This only applies to the Moon and the signs on the Water houses, but I think it's interesting to see how, despite having your Moon in a certain element, your inner life/emotional world can still have different elements to it, depending on what signs are on the water houses cusps... That last part applies to me to a T - I have a Virgo Moon with Sag and Aries in houses 8 and 12 (house 4 starts in Cancer but also has some Leo in it) and there's certainly that conflict between the cautious, worrying, reserved Virgo side and the more outward, expressive and passionate Fire energy (when it comes to feelings, etc) (but then again, my Moon is in the 5H... see, there's a sort of pattern). Thanks for chiming in, Doux! That's SO interesting!! It really is! That opened my eyes to my own chart. Plus opened my eyes more to the question that I've asked here in the sense that I never considered the theme of having earth for the cusp of my water houses, etc. I was more focused on each house singularly. Thanks for sharing! IP: Logged |

It is as if God wants us to know the Theme of the person. ------------------ Want to Read Simple, Fun,Sexy Articles on Astrology? Check Me Out, DUDE. http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

The energy of where the planet is must be taken into account.Sun in Aquarius in the 4th and Sun in Capricorn in the 4th house may have their lives center around roots, family and belonging somewhere etc. But the approach is different. For the Sun in Aquarius, the person may be at home and concerned with family matters. But they are in no way warm, fuzzy and nurturing in the personal sense of the word. The concern for family(like Cancer) is there, but there is a likelihood that the person will run the family in a sort of "general",unconventional,"give 'em more rope", distant,"let them find their way" sort of way(Aquarius). The family bond is likely to be that much closer if the people the person interacts with at home(children, spouse etc)are mostly air signs or are preoccupied with ideas and progressive thinking. If not, this person is likely to be the family member who is considered odd, quirky and maybe even "controversial" by more traditional relatives. With the Sun in Cap it is similar. the concern for family is also there, but there is a difference. This person may be more "hands on" than the Aquarius, but lack nurturing skills or tenderness(Saturn rules Cap). So the family is likely to run like a well-oiled machine or company; schedules are kept, budget is adhered to, children eat their veggies and there are set curfew hours etc. The bond between the children and the parent is likely not to be great or warm. Perhaps the children will appreciate the strict upbringing later on in life? When perhaps they also become parents and understand the responsibility? But that's not certain either. If not a parent yet, this individual will be more concerned with keeping the culture, traditions and values that they are born into. They may marry someone who shares the same belief or conservative background etc. They may be know as the "serious", "responsible" one of the family .And be the one expected to take care of the family in the more material sense than the emotional one etc. Sites keep it brief by saying "Sun in 4th/Cancer" because its just too long and tedious to explain the nuance and difference between each Sun in 4th.
