Paul McFly, I would like to speak with you over the phone if you're interested. I think I could make you feel a bit better maybe. I'm not sure whether my email address shows up in my profile, let me know. ------------------

I think that that is what I was afraid you'd say. I don't have advice really. Because I myself loved to be in theater productions in school and wanted to be on stage and pursue that. In my view, acting is a lifestyle and not something one does in isolation. Celebrity is often confused with being an actor. And many people confuse being an actor with being a "star". There are theater actors that have moved on to television. Street actors that have been "discovered" by agents. Actors who work in and around sets as extras looking for that break. Reality TV "actors". Adult industry "actors" as well as "Indie"/independent/low budget film actors etc. All these people may not all be household names or A-list celebrities. But they do contribute to the industry-in their respective ways. If its a calling from within, you won't be able to suppress it. And it would be best to follow it. Hone your craft-so to speak. But it may not happen as easily as it appears to happen for the next person. As the market is very saturated with all sorts of wannabes. It takes that one movie with the right people, coming at the right time with the right promotions etc to make it. And even then, that is a lot of things that must align before one is "discovered". But that is not the end, but only the beginning. For you don't know how long it'll last(the notoriety) and if one can sustain it long-term to yield financial rewards. And that is a lot of "maybes" It may take longer and you could find yourself only gaining the fame much later in life(Ian Mckellen,Christopher Plummer, Michael Gambon, Helen Mirren etc.) If you want fame and fortune with it..that's a roll of the dice. The real challenge is withstanding the uncertainty.... Can you? IP: Logged |

Yes. And as for wanting to be a star I do not wish nor do I care for fame. I simply want to do WELL at my craft and inspire people to pursue their dreams. I take everything I'm passionate about seriously, and acting is no different. It is fun honestly and the fact I've dropped so much time, effort and money into it I will shoot for nothing but the best. Challenges do not frighten me. And I will add that I have done some extensive soul searching before going through with this. Im not so much a fan of Theatre acting but I've done it. This is one of the few things I actually have a knack for and enjoy so I plan on sticking with it. And I prefer to become an actor out of isolation because it better suits me that way. I cannot work a normal 9-5 job my whole life. I have to express myself. Thats how I roll. Its either this or become a wanderer of Earth. I will not work a ANY job im not 100% satisfied with. Uncertainty is my middle name. Only thing I'm concerned about is whether I can make enough money to support myself so I won't be homeless lol. I have faith everything will fall into place. Im just going with the flow. Film is something I have adored since elementary school

Take some time out and put in some effort to build mental health first. But yes, your chart has distinct markers for drama/acting. Continue it, but *healthy*! ------------------ Astrology & Natural Medicine blog IP: Logged |

As a musician who's been through similar periods of frustration, I want to add that this cycle of stagnancy is most likely a sign that you're evolving creatively. It's time to reflect on and refine your abilities, and to clarify with yourself what it is, exactly, that you want out of this, and why. Even if you've answered these questions before, ask yourself again. What do you believe in? What do you stand for? And how are you channeling your true self into your talents. I think once you align all these aspects of yourself together properly, so that there's no question of what you're doing and why at any given moment, then work will come more easily to you. It may turn out differently than what you've always dreamed about, but you'll be so fulfilled that you won't even notice. With love IP: Logged |

I wouldn't know what Hollywood is like and opportunities in Phoenix. Having been back from a shoot with 200 odd people in a Hollywood movie here in UK.Can't reveal name all sush...sush. I can understand passion and lifestyle you want. I can understand when people are not doing their purpose then they rather die. As for money, I know a very famous actor Shah Rukh Khan who calls himself "Commercial Poet" and I very much believe that. We all sometimes start thinking in black and white. You can be only making money or making art. There is a need to find balance. I sell stuff online as well which again gives me freedom to pursue my other creative things. That means it is all risky and uncertain but it works for me. I think if I had to do only acting it would be extremely draining and soul crushing as I enjoy doing different things. If you haven't got background in business then maybe you might want to learn those skills and built those muscles. Surround yourself with positive people ! IP: Logged |
