I mean astrologically. I want to know if there are some aspects, planets or planetary placements that would suggest that the person would not want to have kids?

I understand that we have free will and people can choose to have children or not but I am just being curious, because I have met one person who has Sun in the 5th house and the second person has Mars and Moon in the 5th house (not conjuncting) and they both dont want kids.

I have Moon in 5H and I am really on the fence. I actually thought I was pregnant a few weeks ago but it turned out into nothing and I would be lying if I said I didn't feel at least a little bit relieved. I think I'm one of those that if I do get pregnant I'll say "ok" and if I don't I'll say "ok".

I don't want kids and I have Sun and Mercury in the 5th. This is because the most important thing to me is art, and so kids would be a secondary thing, which isn't how I'd want to be a parent anyway.

I don't want kids and I have Moon/NN in the 5th. Though children are always drawn to me and I seem to have a way with them.

edit ya know I always go back and forth on this. I think in the future when I'm more settled I could certainly adopt, but I'm positive I don't want biological children

i have venus conjunct jupiter in the 5th and i certainly dont want kids. and never will.
its hard enough having two kittens which i regret.

i dont understand why as this placement is of the abundance of children and animals, lovers, creativity...

it could be my cappy moon which is more reserved for taking care of myself first and foremost than others.

I don't want kids. Call it egoistic if you will, but being someone's mother is a role that not everybody is into, I probably would resent it sooner or later. At least that's what I think for now and I think it is better to be conscious and honest with oneself about this.
Moreover educating someone is incredibly hard (if you want them to be properly educated), which also puts me off. There are other things in life that I'd like to put my efforts in and they are related to my knowledge and my search of the suitable career that will make me achieve self-realization.

Sun and Mercury in the 5th house in Virgo. Moon and Venus in the 6th house in Libra.
NN in the 12th house. MC in Capricorn conjunct Mars.

I don't want kids. I like my life being MY life. I don't hate kids but I enjoy being able to give them back to their rightful owners. I'm bossy and although affectionate, not responsible or emotionally equipped to be a parent, and I don't foresee that changing in the next 5 years.

I have a lot of squares to Saturn, Moon opp. Pluto, Pluto in the 5H, and Sun in the 11H. My karma has to do with people in general more so than family, me thinks.

I have Capricorn on the cusp of my 5th house and Uranus and Neptune in the 5th. I've never wanted children. I always get kinda nervous around kids although I'm better at interacting with them than I used to be. I'm just not very motherly and I fear I'd get annoyed by them and be mean to them more than they deserve. I've babysat alot of my younger cousins and after awhile I just get irritated and get an irritated tone with kids after being around them too long. I don't want to put a child through that their whole childhood and make them hate me. It's more of a case of I realize I probably am not cut out to be a mother and don't want to bring children into the world if they're just going to be miserable with me.

I think a strong Uranian theme or air-sign emphasis can make people not want to do the traditional spouse-and-kids thing.

I vacillate; one minute I want the whole setup (Mars in Cancer); the next, I realize that I like being able to come and go as I please, not having to answer to anybody or take care of a house full of brats, and never having time for myself. There's a certain amount of freedom being spouseless and childless has that I'm not always sure I want to give up.

Which doesn't mean I don't want a partner, far from it, but I don't want to be tied down, it's a drag. Uranus rules my chart, my south node and ascendant are in Aquarius. I don't even want to buy a house, when I finish school and start my career, because I don't want to be tied down to one place.

In my case, I want/would like/wouldn't mind to have a partner. I don't have a problem with having a person who understands me, so as to support each other in reaching to their goals in life. But it is children that don't enter into the picture.

I understand not wanting to be tied down though. In my case I don't want to be tied down to my current job. I want to change, study, improve, travel, experience, etc. but I think I can do that having a partner as well .

I don't have children because I've never felt I'd be able to give them what they need financially... I've seen this linked to my Moon conjunct Chiron (H7).

The only other reason is for lack of finding a good partner... Not sure what I can blame that on in my chart...

I don't want children for just those two reasons, otherwise I would. H5 contains a Venus/Juno/Ceres conjunction in Aquarius and a Mercury/Jupiter conjunction in Pisces.

5th house does not mean only children, or that you will desire children. The 5th house includes many things of the nature of 'love/passion/creativity given, risks taken.'

And you do not know for certain what houses someone's natal planets fall into unless you've got a basis for verifying their correct Asc degree and sign.

Commitment is nearly non-existent these days. The majority don't want kids because it takes alot to commit to them.

Most people are about me-Me-ME!

If i had to pick an aspect, Venus to Jupiter in hard aspect. My Aunt had her first child at 38 and is going to post-partum depression. Why? She admitted she wasn't ready to be a mother. She's a party girl after all. She misses partying with women 20 years younger than her.

Actress Hayden Panettiere just recently suffered through Post-Partum Depression. She has Venus Square Jupiter. Not sure if her reason is the same as my Aunt, but i would bet money that it's the reason why! She is young too (26).

I really don't like Venus/Jupiter aspects. Mostly everyone i know with hard or soft Venus/Jupiter are so lazy, egotistical, and very self indulgent. Harsher aspects are worse! Especially if their Venus is dominant in their chart.

Funny as my venus square jupiter aspect in progression is getting weaker. As it's getting weaker, i'm wanting more and more to be a father.

The world has too many people anyway. And it may be so that people are selfish so that's why they don't want kids but isn't that better than having them anyway and neglecting them?

If you want to have babies go ahead, but i don't know that i necessarily agree with attacking those of us who don't want the obligation. I want to live a real life not be in a kitchen with kids attached to my legs. I want to travel and accomplish stuff. To each their own.

Yeeeahhhh f. this post.

What do you know about PPD? Are a woman who's had a child? According to you wanting to be a father I would guess not. PPD can affect anyone at ANY age, and one doesn't get it just because they miss being a party girl! How ignorant. Educate yourself before you start antagonizing a group of people (those who don't want to have kids) unnecessarily.

PPD is caused by either hormonal changes, stress from taking care of a newborn, or phyisical and/or emotional changes from childbirth.

Hormal changes, understood.

However stress from taking care of the child? It's common. That stems from being non-commital.

Personally, I'm not sure if I want kids. I'm leaning more towards not wanting them but I don't know if it's because I'm young or if I'll see it differently when I'm older.

I grew up in a very chaotic environment. From that experience, I suppose I came up with what kind of circumstances a child SHOULD be raised in and what kind of care they require to thrive as best as they possibly can. I don't want to have a kid just to have a kid, you know? I need to feel like I have something to offer a child and know that I can provide it with a caring, nurturing, and stable home life. Basically I take having kids very seriously and would never commit to having one unless I seriously believed it would be the best thing for a kid. Like it drives me crazy when some people take having kids so nonchalantly. Like when my sister, for example, chose to have another kid simply for the reason that she wanted a sibling for my nephew and because she liked having a baby around. That just doesn't seem right to me. I'm so judgmental about who has kids and when they have them though I know I shouldn't be. I realize a good portion of us wouldn't be here because no situation can always be ideal.

It may be that I'm too selfish, I don't know, but at least if that's the case I realize that and choose not to subject my possible child(ren) to coming after myself lol.

I have Uranus, Neptune, Saturn, and my NN in the 5th house.

You really think that if someone is committed they wont be stressed out by their children?

Tell me i read that wrong...if i didn't you probably aren't ready to have kids, yourself. My mom was fully committed and at times very stressed by being a parent.

Stress and depression are 2 different things. Stress MAY cause depression.

OTOH, many have kids because they see how much attention their pregnant friends are getting, and they're also losing their ability to bond with their friends. If having kids make the 'rents (who want to be grandparents so they'll have something to talk about and feel like they've "succeeded" and may even want a measure of revenge as their kids learn what it's like to be a parent) shut the frag up then so much the better. Some women have this strange idea that the child will unconditionally love her, and that's something they hunger for as they won't find it anywhere else (save maybe a pet, and even that's debatable). Men want to prove they're not gay (as if that proved anything) and "man enough to sire a child" as well, though plenty more just don't want to use protection, nor be obligated to care for any kids later, which can be the rude shock to the woman who thought having his baby would finally make him the man she wanted him to be. Of course there are also men who try to impregnate a woman so he can own her and make her more dependent on him as well.

At least for those who refuse to have children out of selfishness aren't hurting anyone...and may be helping the planet as well as society. OTOH, the many who have kids for selfish reasons are screwing themselves over and, much worse, their kids who can understandably wish they had never been born...and will carry on the cycle, or choose not to have kids based on what it was like for them being raised by selfish parents.

Interesting, I have a packed 5H Sag that includes moon and Mars, and I love kids, though I was also responsible enough not to have them even when the feeling overtook me. I've worked with kids since I was 17 (as in job and library volunteer for a summer reading program) and love working with them. My 5H seems to give me the energy for them as well as the enjoyment in their company. But it's also a house for creativity, which can be hard to do when you're taking care of kids.

But for astrology, if I were to look into it then the first thing I'd look for is strong water elements who were raised in a bad home, as the water elements don't easily forget, forgive, or overcome their past, so if childhood was hell on them, or they saw how it was miserable for the adults who took care of them, they won't forget that and it could alienate them from having kids...but this is as much environment as it is astrology.

Earth signs might look at the bottom line instead, and not want kids until they're very stable, as kids are very expensive. Of course in previous generations when kids were free exploited labor (and were the last to eat and gain the benefits of the family) then the earth sign hesitant to have kids now would be more likely to desire kids.

My understanding is that Sag generally doesn't want kids for a long time as it would impede their freedom, but after awhile, they change their mind in a big way. Naturally, the rest of the chart matters, as do other things. (That said, my Sag father doesn't seem anymore inclined than ever to have anything to do with me. And I know a Sag mother who lives up to her obligations, but only grudgingly, and is impatient for the last of her brood to turn 18 and leave the nest.)

I totally agree with you 100%.

Many people have kids for selfish reasons. Some are to show off, others is to just have a baby for the sake of having a baby, other it's just to "grow" the family tree.

Women who want to have children, should only want to have children when they WANT to be a mother.

I'm just saying, that people who are non-committed when it comes to daily life activities, shouldn't even think to have, let alone have kids.

With me personally, i just find it odd that the people i know who have venus/jupiter aspects, especially the hard ones, are just non-committed people. I mean anyone can read the descriptions of these aspects and see a correlation.
