Does anyone know what signs and aspects would tend to make a female very feminine?

Females with water moons i have noticed just exudes femininity. Even when they act a little tomboyish the femininity still shows. And also sun-neptune esp the hard aspects i have seen can bring a very innocent feminine appearance to a woman.

Feminine is in the eye of the beholder. My Leo Moon in 10th and Cancer Venus 9th tell me that water/fire mixes with some earth added are feminine. One of my best examples was a Cancer with 5 planets in Leo.

There was a debate at one stage that 'cancer' might be more feminine than 'Pisces' ...but many astrologers corrected this by saying: Pisces is mutable , 100% yin,'feminine energy. Pisces is also the 'softest', most emotional and most spiritual sign. So i say Pisces by far - its not even a contest against cancer.

Taurus/Virgo placements are feminine for a women too but not in the same intensely emotionally 'soft' way.

Both Cancer and Pisces can come across as very feminine. Specially the Moon or Venus in those signs!

True.

Within the social constructs - Cancer and Pisces can match that feminine ideal (IF they choose to ... because it's all about free will, but they often do *choose* to)

The way they are feminine is different. Cancer knows femininity, it exudes warmth, charm, girlish appeal. Usually they are seeking a reaction, if only to make you feel honored, special, happy.

Pisces is just receptive. It's not really exuding anything, more like intaking and responding to a broader range of cues.

Had to edit this and maybe I'm still wrong.

Bingo. Yeah, Cancers know and consciously project their feminine energy, whereas Pisces is feminine due to the ultra-receptiveness.

There are plenty different types of femininity. I assume you mean the traditional one here. IMO girls who have personal planets in feminine signs which also have feminine rulers (the double 'yin' influence) - Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Pisces - to be especially comfortable with traditional femininity. They instinctively adopt conventional gender roles and are happy with them. Regardless of how talented/smart/independent they can be. i.e., it's their natural way of expressing femininity to abide by such roles.

For instance, Virgo stellium Blake Lively wants to be, and enjoys being a homemaker.

Now I dare you to tell a double Aries girl, however pretty she dresses, to 'go make me a sandwich'. Note: please wear padding.

P.S. That is not to say other signs cannot fit into those roles, it just may not be as comfortable for them to do so. Their ways of expressing femininity do not necessarily include these things.

I think Neptune and Venus aspects to the personal planets and ascendant make for feminity.

Well said, Faith. Never thought about it like this but it does make a lot of sense!

I highly disagree with this statement although there is some truth to it. I believe that gender roles are as much of an evolutionary thing as much as they are social constructs. I believe women should be treated as equals to men, but at the same time, women have a responsibility to their husbands and children that most people these days forget about.

-----

Anyway, in response to this thread, I believe Pisces is the most feminine sign, followed by Cancer, then Virgo, then Taurus, then Libra (although technically masculine). From my own experience, my friends that have these influences have been the most feminine, it's actually so calming.

For aspects, Moon-Venus would be an indicator, especially the softer aspects. I would also count Moon-Neptune or Venus-Neptune.

I'm not sure if house placements for planets would indicate femininity, but I'm assuming personal planets in water houses might make someone appear more feminine even though their planets are in masculine signs.

Venus square Neptune.

I actually agree with this statement.

I have a Virgo stellium (Sun, Mercury, Venus, a bunch of points and asteroids) as well as a fourth house Moon and Mars. There's plenty of neutral or masculine indicators in my chart but I've always preferred the more traditional role. I even picked a nurturing and caring profession. Ultimately though, I would like to be a homemaker, take care of the kids, etc.

I wasn't at all raised in a household that forced this role. My mother was an equal breadwinner for a very long time (Aries Moon, Leo Mars) but she also stayed at home with her kids for as long as she could (Cancer ASC, 6th house Sun). In fact, I think my parents pretty much assumed that I would become a top-notch career woman. I have goals for my career, such as to have regular hours and attain a level of autonomy, but it's not the end-all be-all. When the opportunity presents itself, I will be a homemaker and focus on raising the children, and taking care of the home. It's a natural role for me, something I feel very comfortable and happy doing.

Darnit, I made the the mistake of making a flat statement to a bunch of Librans in the audience. Forgot the "on the other hand.." part of that sentence.

*ducks* don't throw your popcorn at me, kiddos!

Thanks! And I'm glad to hear you say that. Yes.. we each should go after what we find fulfilling, without apology. The naysayers will always naysay.
