This just occurred to me, but I was wondering if there was a correlation between the MC and a person's stereotype when they were in high school. Since the MC represents the public persona or how people you don't personally know see you, stereotypes in high school can also be considered as a public persona because they work the same way. I'd like to make this a poll thread. Feel free to join in and don't be shy about your stereotype. Note that this is not to make anyone feel bad about themselves or their high school experience. This is mainly for fun. If you were popular, then tell me and state your MC. If you were one of the "different" kids, also do the same thing. EDIT: Also, state any aspects to your MC or MC ruler, and the house your MC ruler is in. ----- I'll start. I have Pisces MC and back in high school, I was one of the "artsy" kids. A lot of people knew me and I knew everyone, but I wouldn't consider myself "popular" based on high school standards. People just liked me but it wasn't like they worshipped me or anything, like they do actual popular people. People knew me because I played the guitar, drums, and piano, and I was a member of my school's vocal ensemble and drum line. Aside from that, I posted pictures of my drawings and other artsy stuff I made on Instagram. I hung out with the misunderstood kids and people who were considered to be different. Also, I felt like no one really knew who I was unless they're really close to me. People always perceived me as the girl who was lost in her own little world. When my closest friends first got to know me, they didn't realize I was the ambitious Leo or the intelligent Virgo mercury I am. I'd say that's a pretty Pisces MC thing. I was different/punk/band geek at a school and a time when it was not yet acceptable to be any of those things. I mostly wore a lot of black and minded my own business. I went to a conservative school, so even that was pretty out-there. When the "emo" stereotype was created, that was tacked on, too. Then I shaved all my hair off (Aqua rising here) and picked up a few less-than-nice stereotypes.I left high school in my junior year, got my GED and went on to college. I don't miss it at all. I do miss college, though. Sagittarius MC. Jupiter in Leo/6th house. Jupiter is sextile my Moon & Mars, trine my MC, and part of a yod that involves my Moon/Mars and Uranus (the apex) in my 11th. Explains why I've never been afraid to go my own way in high school and with my career/public image. I have Chiron conjunct the MC in Aries. *Pretty sure...if my chart is rectified correctly. In the beginning, I thought nothing of myself, socially. I had no expectations. Apart from my close circle of friends, I didn't care what anyone thought of me, I considered myself invisible. Fitting for Chiron in Aries...where sometimes the person feels as if they don't exist. All the moreso with my Pisces moon square Neptune. I was happy with my own company, in my dream world. I had self-confidence based on the fact that I could keep myself amused whether people were there or not. Somehow I think that was the secret to my eventually gaining a lot of friends. No self-esteem about the normal stuff (thought I was ugly and ridiculous) but self-esteem based on spirituality or something. And I guess my Aries MC would liven things up for people...we always had things to do, places to go, mischief to get into. I wasn't breaking the law but was out all hours of the night, even on school nights, doing whatever I wanted. I was committed to living an action-packed (Aries) life. IP: Logged |

I'm either Taurus or Gemini MC (depending which house system is used) and I don't see how either one can be applied to my overall rep as an athletic tomboy (and often slutty by those who didn't know me, but that was started out of malice rather than genuine misunderstanding). The most I can think of is how having so much on a cusp for me (and even the MC being borderline) might explain how I was always the odd one out...in rural East Texas I was seen as a big city girl (a preacher even called me a punkette) while in a big city school I was seen as something of a hick, at least by those who didn't know me well. (ETA: how could I forget those who thought I was a Satanist? At least in the rural school it was only kids who got that dumb. But there was also a high school counselor in a big city school who thought that as well, which is a scandal that someone like that could get hired as a counselor!) I just checked someone else's chart who has said a lot about high school and it doesn't fit there either, that I can see. I'm thinking of checking a couple of more. Heck, make that 4 (adding one recently out of high school and another still in school). IP: Logged |

@PixieJaneMm.. I guess it doesn't apply to everyone. Anyway, it's just a theory I'm testing out. So far, everyone else seems to relate. But that's actually quite interesting about having your MC on a cusp. I think the two signs would have an effect on you somehow, plus taking into account the aspects. "Big city girl" sounds pretty Gemini as Gemini might like all the excitement in the city. Idk about the "hick" part, though. Not sure if that's a Taurus thing or not. Does your Mars aspect your MC at all? IP: Logged |

My mars is part of my 5H, so I'd have to say no. If anything, I'd think my 5H Sag (especially Mars-Uranus) was the most evident and how people (students and faculty alike) saw me in school. (I also have a packed 3H. Plenty of teachers cut me slack in class on the unspoken agreement that I didn't ask questions or participate in class discussion, which is conceivably connected to Gemini as well as my 3H.) My MC is Aquarius I was definitely known for having a lot of friends.. I was popular.. These all weren't real friendships though... I guess mostly they were to prove to myself that I had friends.. So they were mostly good acquaintances.. I also have Saturn in my 10th house 😉Besides my other characteristics of my personality (ASC) my attitude towards what I want to be known for in life and the world is pretty Aquarian. IP: Logged |

Also I was very well known in my early high school years for loving Astrology. That's kind of Aquarian . It's a very "out-there" subject when most kids were interested in basketball and anime. And at one point I was so obsessed with Astrology during lunch I went with my best friend and talked to every single person in the cafeteria asking them if they liked or knew about Astrology. Out of a few hundred kiss I came in contact with , about 4 or 5 of them knew their moon and ascendant signs. The rest just knew their zodiac and thought it was a load of crap. Lol IP: Logged |

Taurus MC and I was, and am, stubborn as he11!! I also liked, and like, quality instead of quantity. I have an eye for the finer things in life. I always listened to music and still do and I was always outside in nature and still am. I would suffocate and die if nature vanished! IP: Logged |

Leo MCI hung out with the metalheads, punks and emos. I also went to school early just to study in the library with the nerds and geeks too. I loved music so I was always in band practice, even IF it wasn't a class I was supposed to take I would always go and sit in anyways. The band teacher loved me. I also was in his orchestra class (classically trained musician here). My first BF was a metalhead drummer who was an Aries and it was always butting heads with him. I guess people saw me as fun, friendly, alot of people knew me and felt that I had a very domineering attitude. Commanding/demanding. I was known as the girl who "kicked ass" and "slapped ******* " if they crossed me. I have always thought that was my Scorpio ASC/Venus/Merc/Pluto going to work though. Guess not! Oddly enough I am a Libra. Hah! IP: Logged |

I have a Libra MC (late degrees). I was known to be very sweet and diplomatic, but I could debate like a lawyer. My teachers and classmates often said I was hardworking, highly determined, mature, intelligent and always willing to help others.IP: Logged |

In highschool I was the detatched kid in the class. I didn't spend much time making friends, I just had acquaintances. I didn't have a boyfriend either. I was very focused in learning though. I arrived with a successful study record from school and all I wanted to do was to fulfil my personal ambitions. I liked being in touch with culture and with intelligent and ambitious people who knew what they wanted. I learned a language and I played an instrument outside the highschool, but little to no people at highschool knew that. I guess I just did for my personal satisfaction. Kids who acted like fools made me raise an eyebrow. Teachers often loved me and praised me for doing well. Capricorn MC conjunct Mars. IP: Logged |

I can identify with that very much. However, my MC is supposedly at 0 Taurus. I don't think that describes at all how I was stereotyped in high school (my Aqua Dsc would, though). I don't know if an Aries MC would be better; I do think I was seen as moody and somewhat aggressive by some people. I did get into my share of trouble, and maybe a bit rough around the edges sometimes. Maybe I have Aries MC,or it's just that I don't have any planets in H10, and other placements are more noticeable. I definitely don't think that Taurus fits how I was seen, although it does fit how I'm viewed at work, and how I view my job. Edit... As an afterthought, I think that my Uranus opposite MC is more apt to describe how I was stereotyped in high school (and in general), rather than the sign my MC is in. IP: Logged |

This is going to be short. Cancer MC It was emotional and it sucked. I really try to forget about it. I had a reunion recently and although people were glad to see me, genuinely, I actually hated being there. I probably won't go to any more of them. The people are fine but the experience of all of us being gathered together takes me back to a time that I was fine with having forgotten. IP: Logged |

Virgo MC with no planets there.I hanged out with the alternative people and the sporty ones. I was popular and I knew many people because of representing the school in sports competitions for years. Among the most troublesome acquaintances and friends, I was one of the few who was always responsible and not involved in messy situations. I also always relied too much in the fact that I learned stuff very fast so I never studied very hard which was bad, because I could have had even better grades if I had studied more. IP: Logged |

Sag MC with tight conjunction to Lilith.....I was pretty much a loner and i did what i wanted. I was surprised when people told me I was popular. I used to just do my own thing. Everyone knew me, liked me, hated me, talked about me, smiled in my face, talked about me behind my back, admired me, resented me...but i didn't care..I spoke my mind and wasn't afraid to be who I was...especially by the time I turned 16. I used to feel guilty for being myself..but that changed I had fun though. I learned a lot, tried new things and expanded my social life, and experienced many different epiphanies on who I was and my service to mankind. My writing skills sharpened tremendously as well. Aries MC! I'm not sure what my reputation was. But I was friends with a variety of groups. Was in many clubs. And was on Varsity cross country and Varsity soccer captain. But I didn't seek out popularity. I was just nice to everyone. I was sort of shy around people I wasn't close to. Somehow I was on Prom Court and was voted for Senior Superlatives as best of my senior class. IP: Logged |
