Are there any?
It's like addiction.
I sometimes think that if people quit astrology and focus on improving themselves, they would be happier.

Not that I can think of...

If you don't want to do it, you don't have to. It's not like a school subject.

I think if you are looking for a reason you don't really want to quit it, even though you feel like astrology is an unhealthy addiction for you. Ultimately you will make the decision, and I think you know what the right one is. However, addictions always have a funny way of showing up when you least expect them.

My only problem is that I use astrology to explain things too much. Like my friend just got engaged again and my first thought wasn't "Congratulations!" but "Of course, he's got Mars in Libra" haha.

But really, astrology is so helpful for becoming self-aware and understanding other people with different energies than yourself. It's a perfect tool for self-improvement

I do the same thing. There is nothing wrong with that. Most of the people in my life find it funny and quirky

My problem is that I have Libra Mars and Sun and Mercury and use astrology too much because I can't make my mind!

Astrology gives you a blueprint to yourself and others. Why throw away the blueprint?

Well, it depends on how you use it. You could just as well use astrology to improve yourself. It's a phantastic tool to do just that, actually. Making an honest self-appraisal is one of the hardest things, but astrology can help you do it, and can help you face your shadow side, or other things you never noticed about yourself; and, it can show you the way to make the best of your innate tendencies. It can also make you more tolerant of people's differences. All too many people suffer disappointment because they expect others to act and react and feel just like they would. The sooner one lets go of such an unrealistic expectation the better, and astrology can help one get there.

Someone once said that a birth chart is like a user manual for one's personality which sadly most people never bother to read. True if you ask me.

I think is up to you. I don't think this has to do with everyone's happiness but it can be a little bit addictive, yes.
In my case, I like astrology because it gave me a lot of answers and I can understand people and situations in a different way. It's part of my life but It's not a bad thing. I don't depend to astrology.

Astrology made me a better person inside and I officially found my absolute love which is astrology. Astrology is not an addiction, astrology is just a subject to have an ultimate drive and passion for and as a venus in sag it has become one of my beliefs and fascinated topics to research on.

It's helped me to understand myself. In that way, I'm forever grateful to astrology. I really am. It's so true and makes so much sense to me.

That said, I look at themes. When I love, it's my chart, not just my Venus, though my Venus sets the tone of my love nature. My sun, moon, aspects and everything else jump in and contribute. So in that way I try not to dig too deeply in details about what each behavior of mine is. Sometimes it's a habit that I fall into but really it's trying to separate out water from water. There are deeper areas, clear or muddy areas. Areas with flow and areas of standing water but it's all attached to the same body of water.

If I just made any bit of sense.

I'm glad someone is asking this...

It does seem to be on the fine line of healthy vs. very unhealthy.

My reasons for sticking with it:
1. I find significant, unique power in my chart. Even the tough influences. I choose to see this as kind of a blood type - these are just energies that make up who I am, and I can pick what I emphasize.

2. Once we learn that we are not controlled by astrology at all, it can be wonderfully empowering and center us with the Universe and our faith. What is meant to be will be, and here are the potentials... etc.

3. If you can look at transits you believe fully will be positive, and keep your focus on those - that is truly what you'll manifest.

But, I think it's hard to stick with these. I see more people post 'Will we last?' charts in interpersonal than anything else, and this always makes me wonder.. what happens to them if everyone chooses to respond with 'Nope, not gonna last. Too much of this and btw he's definitely cheating on you.'

...????? The power of suggestion can be LETHAL, and we're tapping into spiritual entities with this. So that always worries me. I think it's good to analyze these charts to see what COULD be, but really... it should all be looked at as a mirror of your own thoughts/projections/fears/loves/beliefs, etc, than the hand of God steering you.

But anyway.

Stepping off my soapbox now.....

I do know what you mean, though. Rather than bemoaning Chiron conjunct Sun, find a therapist, right? That sort of thing. People can do both, and will when they're ready.

I get depressed easily now. Much too easily. Last weekend was partially ruined because I was feeling so tired and miserable (something was ruined for me, but the person didn't do it on purpose). My Uncle, when he was young and depressed, was sent to a place that made him get out of bed at the same time every morning, otherwise he wouldn't get breakfast. They had to do housework, and other things, and he reckons that made him better.

That wouldn't work for everyone, but it can help me when it's milder.

It's just fun. I'm not going to delude myself with beliefs that may not always be true.. It gives me possible alternatives To scenarios and ideas and I'm just using it for enjoyment

The last time I was religiously interested in astrology I had a psychotic episode and I was so confused about the truth of how things were
But a little magic goes a long way.. So never give up on Astrology. Enjoy yourself but not too much. 😉

P.S. The whole entire idea of astrology is to improve ourselves
Think about that 😉

I tried to do this long ago. But that's when I found out I cannot quit it even if I wanted to. Because it has become a apart of my mind and how I think. I cant unlearn astrology. I guess it depends how much you know. Since I cannot unlearn it I think its an advancement in life that cannot be undone.

Great points.

Transits affect me, they really do, but as I've learned how to sail through life in a more detached way...less ego, more spirit...I can be in the worst situation, still afloat, and almost giddy at the ease of it. Just detach and enjoy the crazy ride.

ETA: ^^ What I meant to say is, I credit astrology with helping realize that much of the time, energy is external. We are all participating in the day's transits, its mood. Before, I would internalize these energies and feel like I had to control them...but that's attempting the impossible. If Pluto and Mars are squaring each other in transit, I can't make that feeling go away. It's objectively there. Beyond my power to dispel. All I can do is notice it and realize it's like emotional weather I'm experiencing, along with everyone else.

Astrology is based on truth.

It's not always true...but it's based on truth.
