There aren't many albums I like every single song on, and the bands I favor tend to change over years, but...

For all time, I might have to say...

Disintegration, by The Cure
Fun House, by The Stooges.
Superfuzz Bigmuff, by Mudhoney.

However, I like all genres of music--barring things like pop Country, or what people now refer to as "R&B" (which was a hell of a lot better in the '60s and '70s, as far as I can tell) and pseudo agro pop rock.

Right now, I've been listening to Whiteout by The Shivas, and a band from Australia called The Gooch Palms.

Also, as it's almost Christmas (which I celebrate), I've been paying a lot of homage to my grandma by listening to Classic Country from the '70s, like Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn.

It really depends on my mood, the year, the decade, etc.

Strong Neptune in my chart?

^ A Momentary Lapse of Reason is one of my favorites.

But I think my favorite album ever is Out of Time by R.E.M. I listened to that over and over with my friends in high school, when we went on vacation to the beach. Brings back happy memories, and the music is so good.

Found out much later that Michael Stipe has a Cap sun, Pisces moon, Sag Venus like me.

*sigh...

If we don't start making a connection between our taste in music and our astrological placements, the thread will get moved to another forum.

***Edit***
Faith got to it, lol.

My gothy (old school, mind you) tendencies can easily be chalked up to my Pisces Sun in H8.
Joy Division, Siouxsie and the Banshees, etc.

I think that it's maybe my 3H Pluto opposite Aries Venus that is attracted to old school punk, and hip hop with a political theme.

Pluto trine Mercury and sextile Neptune goes for lyrics and meaning.

Cancer Saturn goes for sentimental music I grew up listening to.

Cap Mars likes hard, basic drum beats.
Ramones, etc.

Not sure what causes me to enjoy baroque pop music like The Shins, Belle and Sebastian, etc.
There's not much to be found in my chart that's mellow, but I do enjoy melodic music.

^ You did it right!

Ditto from my sun.

And my 8H Pisces moon likes poignant, melancholic, harrowing-but-melodic music...I love Lana Del Rey. I never bought one of her albums, but I should.

^^ Blue Jeans

My Aquarius Mercury likes weird stuff like Flight of the Conchords.

I like energetic, fast-moving songs. I quickly grow bored with slow songs. My Moon conjunct Mars (and the numerous Mars squares in my chart) are probably the culprit.

I like dark lyrics and imagery. Complex and layered songs are great, too. I think my Pisces ASC is probably the cause, and maybe my Pluto in Scorpio/8th house placement. I also have a lot of Pluto aspects (sextiles my Sun, Mercury, Neptune & Saturn, trines my ASC). Pluto is also quintile my Venus.

I also like wordy songs (Gemini Moon & Mars in 3rd house).

Bands/artists: A Day To Remember, My Chemical Romance, Panic! At The Disco, The Used, Rise Against, Green Day, Jimmy Eat World, Imagine Dragons, Linkin Park, 30 Seconds to Mars, Taking Back Sunday. I also like older rock - Joan Jett, Queen, The Rolling Stones and others.

I'm sure I'll think of more to add later.

Please don't quote.

Joan Jett and the Rolling Stones!

I also like REM as well.

Nice choices (if I do say so myself).

Hmm..

Probably one of my favorite albums ever would be Paris Kills by The 69 Eyes. Jeeze.. If I could get that album on Vinyl, I would be set. Lol

I don't absolutely LOVE every single song on it, but, I LOVE a lot of them.

I think it's my 8th house Taurus Sun. I know all won't agree, but, I feel like Taurus can be one of those signs that can really kick it to slow, deep gothic rock. (Especially if there are Pluto/Scorpio/8th house influences) I actually have another 8th house Taurus friend who really likes Type O Negative.

Basically, I would say there are a lot of different types of Gothic music.. To me, Taurus really resonates with that slow, foreboding, deep vocals, Gothic rock (Dance D'amour comes to mind). I could be wrong though. To me, they just seem to work together. Lol

(Of course, I like many other types of Gothic Rock other than that..)

I'm similar to StubbornVirgo.

I have Mars conjunct Moon in my 4th house!
I find that I like fast music, I can do sentimental slow songs... But they make me sad. There's a time and a place for slow music (Adele and Boyz II Men for example).

Usually, I can be found listening to Caribbean or African music (Soca/Afrobeats). Even then, I prefer when those songs are mixed and sped up a little.

Funnily enough though, I have a special place in my heart for music I heard growing up - regardless of genre. I have love for Bruce Springsteen, Police and Michael Jackson because of my dad.

I also have love for African gospel music (thanks mum!)

So a lot of the music I like today, is because I heard it at home at some point in my life.

I think that's my Moon's fault tbh.

ohhh music... ^^

uranus conj asc and square moon

you know when in your early teens comes a band that changes your life or you find that band matching your outlook/feelings on life?
to me it was the clash and the ramones. these bands brought the whole PUNK/DIY ethic. also this was the time i became a committed music nerd.

moon in pisces, neptune in 1st house trine venus/mars

i love set sail on my imaginary sailboat in the sunshine when i want to retreat from real life and listen to bands like slowdive, allah-las, melody echo chamber...

when going out and having a good time - northern soul all nighters always give me butterflies.

nice thread nice tastes ^^

Also.. Bob Marley and The Wailers 'Legend' album. Although,I could probably think of a different album from Bob Marley I like more. Legend is a pretty solid album though.

I like 80s and 90s rap/R&B, and 70s disco music. Not a big fan of rock - I like specific bands like The Beatles and Kansas. I wonder why, in terms of astrology?
